The two Milan giants, Inter and AC Milan comfortably won their games against Spezia and Genoa respectively while their followers Napoli dropped two points against AS Roma being kept to a 1-1 draw with a last-minute goal from El Shaarawy. Fiorentina managed to close the gap on the European spots with all four teams above them failing to win their fixtures. 
This weekend, the two teams who remained in the title race, AC Milan and Inter, who are also separated by just two points at the top of the table, will play two difficult games against Lazio and AS Roma respectively, two teams fighting for the European spots.
