Janet Geddis is the founder and owner of Avid Bookshop, an award-winning local business with two locations in Athens. Janet holds a BA in English & American Literature from NYU and an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from UGA's College of Education. Last year, Avid was named a top-five finalist in Publishers Weekly's 2017 Bookstore of the Year competition; in 2018, Avid was voted by Flagpole readers as Athens' Favorite Local Business for the fifth year running. Janet is a professional health essayist and patient advocate; she writes as “The Migraine Girl” on Migraine.com.
