Episode description

“To be young, gifted and black… Oh, what a lovely, precious dream…” Welcome to the Best Friend Weekend Podcast. Aldo NICE, Rog Smuve and Los aka C.A.P. got together to explore the past week in The Culture. Per usual, Rumble Williams got things started. This week, he stewed on people acting out when they’re wrong (01:00), which we pivoted to a conversation about Louisiana Winning Weekend, acting up when the music comes on (04:00) and adding some new ad-libs to the arsenal (10:00). Next, Aldo let us know what Burned His Boudin including “I’m getting off of social media” (14:00), LeBron trademarking Taco Tuesday (20:00) and “I don’t own the rights to this music” (31:00). The biggest three stories we tackled this week were in the world of sports. We took some time to delve into the chaotic week that Antonio Brown has been having (35:00), the relationship between black coaches and players (1:00:00) and whether black athletes going to HBCU’s could be a reality (1:12:00). After briefly highlighting the Dennis Rodman documentary, we wrapped things up with Aldo having Nothin’ NICE to Say about Odell’s wristwatch haters (1:32:00) and Rog delivering some NFL action (1:40:00).
