Episode description

Merry Christmas Best Friend Weekend extended family! It’s been a long time coming, but as promised, we have finally returned with the official Nothin’ NICE to Say “Woke” Volume IV episode of the podcast as a special holiday treat! If you aren’t familiar with this series, feel free to search the archives for Volumes 1-3 (Volume III is YouTube only). With that being said, Aldo and Los brought in Just Devaughn and Dr. Duff to have this pivotal conversation about the state of Black America once more (01:00). Aldo led off by letting us know what Burned His Boudin this week including usage of the N-Word (03:00) and using your wisdom on social media (18:00). The first big issue we chose to tackle was the responsibility of protecting black women especially in response to the public treatment of Brittney Griner & Megan The Stallion (30:00). Next, we chimed in on how Black men are painted in the media when they make missteps like Kyrie Irving & Kanye West (48:00). Then, we gave our thoughts on Coach Prime and the importance of symbolism in the culture (1:05:00). To end the episode, we talked about how we are being agents of change and mused about our general responsibility as the new leaders of the culture (1:28:00).
