Episode description

Back on schedule, Aldo NICE, Rog Smuve, and C.A.P. caught up this week to discuss the cross-section of sports and culture. Rumble Williams got us started with a crazy story about a man calling the police on his girlfriend (01:00), which led to a discussion about domestic violence in unconventional situations. After responding to some feedback from last week (10:00), we began the podcast by discussing the story of Urban Meyer getting reprimanded for not speaking out for a domestic violence survivor (14:00). The cover art this week was of Colin Kaepernick on Madden due to the fact that he had his name/likeness removed from recent iterations of the game, which brought about some riveting commentary (28:00). We took some time to muse about Dak Prescott’s untimely comments and its parallels to other black men in corporate America (38:00) and gave props to LeBron James on his I Promise School (47:00). To wrap up the podcast, we had our Saints draft (55:00), introduced the BFW Fantasy League (1:04:00), showed our love for Target (1:05:00), and Aldo had Nothin’ NICE to Say about barbershop appointments (1:07:00).
