Fridays where we share a real life coaching example from inside our programs for one-to-one coaching. The goal here to help you work through what's being coached upon and to also hear coaching in action. Welcome to this week's Coaching Clinic episode. So something that I talk a lot about inside the BTC community is if you want to grow and get more people with eyeballs, more people's eyeballs on your work, you can buy an audience, borrow an audience or build an audience.
A lot of us focus much on the building, which is great, but like kind of one of the underground ways is borrowing. And you can do that from podcast pitching and being visible on other people's shows. And so in this week's episode, we're actually walking through with one of our BDC members, her current pitches.
and refining them so they become more desirable for the podcast host. And if you're going to get a lot about this episode, I think what you may not give yourself credit for is that your expertise is more podcast worthy than you think. and being able to get in front of and borrow other people's audiences is just such a powerful and effective way
to bring more ideal clients into your world. So enjoy. That I would start thinking about are what are the most common pain points that people are coming to you for? One is probably weight loss, even though you don't love that. would they say would they say in their words um consistency like that's what i hear over and over is that they know what to do they don't know and they can do it for a little bit but they they don't know how to keep it and sustain it long term
Perfect. So when we look at, I really encourage you guys to think about what are the core three topics that you could go on to any show and just talk to without having notes in front of you. So really feel how that feels in your body when you're coming up with topics. So could you talk about consistency and weight loss? Yes. Okay, perfect. Is there another pain point that they come to you for? I think... Like there's many, but it's hard to wrap it all into like.
being concise with it you know because reality is like they're not sleeping they have no energy they like they want to wear clothes and not have to think about it like all those things you know all those things but what does that boil down to like when you're like Okay, cool. When you're putting it over the fire. Okay, yeah. Okay, so maybe it's sleep.
And so now what you think about if these are the three topics, how do I rise above what everybody else are saying or call out stats and say it differently? So what I might say, something is... You know, I get I'm just going to throw spaghetti out there and you can play with it and go back and listen even of like. So I might say, you know, one pitch topic might be. Why, you know, the unpopular belief about weight loss. or the real reason women aren't losing weight, or some sort of catchy title.
Or you might even start with a stat like 100% of women in the U.S. that I work with, or I wouldn't say that I work with, maybe find the stat of how many women are actually not consuming enough protein, if you can find that stat. Every single one. For me, it was 100% of my clients, but that's hard.
It was always 100%, but I know that I consume enough protein. Many of you do on this call. I know. But you might say is like, you know, everybody talks about this, but like actually the key is getting your protein intake up. And when you, you know, identify protein and then that will lead you into. I think that we could probably say, and again, I'm making up the statistic, but 100% of women that are actively trying to lose weight, and obviously this would have to be more succinct, but...
actively trying to lose weight and not. You know what I mean? Those are the women that are not eating enough protein. Yeah. I might find a gen pop stat because I think that might be more powerful for you. And anytime you use stats in your beginning, I would like if you can cite them or cite them at the bottom just so people know for sure. So that could be like one pitch. Another thing could be like you come at it from like sleep health is like, you know, something about why.
Here's what I'm trying to get. It's like everybody's talking about why morning routines are so important, but actually evening routines are more important for sleep. Yeah. Because we've talked about that before, I think. So how to get your sleep is actually not about how you wake up. It's how you go to bed. And then you can talk about sleep health and how that impacts everything else in your framework.
Do you see where I'm going? It's like I'm pulling out the top three pain points, but I'm trying to reframe them in the unpopular view or in a way that shows that what I have to say is different. And then you could do the same thing with consistency. You know, it's like the one thing everybody wants. But, you know, why we're not being able to, why we don't. So do you have a solution? Like, you know.
sorry good do you think you could like it would be a good testing ground to do like reels on these like the titles like for hooks to see which one Which one is more engaging? Does that make sense? Yeah, possibly. That could be interesting data to collect. I mean, not that it says anything. Yeah. Yeah. And then, you know, or go back to anytime you talk about consistency or go back and audit, you know, when you post stuff.
The reason I say protein is because like with Gina and I talked, it's like everybody knows yet that's still stuff they don't do. And everybody's attracted to that content. So I would absolutely say that. And I would call that out and why it's important. So definitely you could audit, you know, reels.
But I do think there's a piece of consistency because everybody is still talking about it, but it's not happening. So how do you teach consistency different? Like how do your clients uniquely get consistent utilizing your method? It is. This is so off topic for anybody that's looking for stats and studies. So ChadGPT is amazing. I was just talking with somebody and said that he's pretty much my best friend.
Perplexity is another AI, if nobody's heard of that, that will give you the links to the actual studies and statistics that they're pulling from so you can verify it easier than on Chagic Retique. Love that reference for sure. A resource for sure. Does that help you to get started now so you can have some direction? And then from there, you can create that one pager. You can start drafting your actual pitch email template.
Yeah, I think it's just getting over that hump of getting on the first one. And, you know, so, you know, I mean, that's really where the friction is, is just getting that first one done. Yeah, I agree. And and just hitting send. So I know you work good with accountability. So do you want to set an accountability date? for getting that first email out? What's the date here? Today is the 12th. I'm going to have, I'm going to send...
I'm going to send 10 out. I know that's big, but I'm going to send 10 out by the beginning of the year. Specifically what date? Beginning could be. January. Okay. You heard it here, friends. You heard it here. Yeah. So just that's not saying I'm going to be on one. I'm just going to send out. No, no. Yeah. But it's an outcome base. The action abridges the outcome that you want. So if you're sending no podcast pitches, you will be on zero.
I feel moving towards it. So, okay. We don't need perplexity for that stuff. No. All right. Thank you for sharing that, Stephanie, too. All right. Give Stacey a hand. Well done. Happy birthday on Monday. ever do as a coach is ask questions so I've put together a simple go-to resource that you can have coach should know. So go ahead and head on over to Amanda.
