Episode description

Felecia knew she was clever at a young age. She was adventurous and loved learning more about the world and its people.

At the age of 5, Felecia’s  world view changed after her parent’s divorce.  But moving to a new city, 5 years later, began Felecia’s journey to seeing how the world views her.

Often overlooked being black in a predominantly white school, a teacher who saw her intelligence, sparked a confidence that led her to pursue big dreams. Later, attending an HBCU summer program with other African American high school students from across the country, opened her eyes and helped her see that: “It doesn’t have to be this way. It can be different.”

These seeds of advocacy led her to develop The Diversity Workshop. Listen to Felecia’s journey of overcoming barriers to advocate for all in our first episode of Being Seen.
