Hello Strangers!

Being Dead Serious podcast episode 36:

The etymology of swear words

is now available.

Words don't start off as swear words. They’re just everyday words.

Then they begin to develop into a cultural taboo… so someone, somewhere has decided that a word is now a swear word.  So how does it start?

We'll start where one should always start: at the beginning, of course. We'll look at the etymology (which is the origin or history) of 5 of your favorite curse words, how they are used and why we use them today!

Yes, this means there’s gonna be a lot of cussing, but if you can get past that to learn some history…then set your ass down, grab a blanket, some hot tea and a kitty for good measure cause we gonna get into some good shit.

Stay Strange!
