Episode description

Geoff Plitt has an engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon and is an ex-Google employee. After studying at Second City and iO in Chicago, Geoff moved to LA to be a standup comic and joke writer. Festival performances include SF Sketchfest, Windsor Comedy Fest (2nd place), San Diego Comedy Fest (semifinalist), Ventura Comedy Fest (semifinalist), and Oakland Comedy Fest. His club gigs include Yuk Yuk’s (Vancouver and Toronto), The Setup (SF), Comedy Palace (San Diego), the Hollywood Improv, and the Comedy Store. Geoff co-founded Jetpack, a highly-acclaimed alternative standup showcase in Los Angeles, and he now writes and hosts the weekly YouTube late-night comedy show "What You Need to Know", whose clips have 10+ million TikTok views.

Geoff has been persistent in growing his social media audience. We talked about how he reached over 100K followers on Tik Tok and how he writes all the jokes he posts every week.
