Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”

Discover why contemplating our eternal destiny is more crucial now than ever as we navigate society's shifting ideologies. This episode of the Become Who You Are podcast invites you on a journey through John Paul II's inspirational teachings, directly impacting today's youth and the world at large.

Embark on an exploration of the stark contrasts: the Christian acknowledgment of human imperfection and salvation's calling versus society's trend to redefine innate nature, epitomized by transgender ideologies. This episode doesn't shy away from hard truths; it challenges us to confront the consequences of a culture that overlooks the cosmic struggle between good and evil, leading to a profound crisis in youth mental health and a vacuum of absolute truth. Together, we reflect on Pope John Paul II's wisdom, which illuminates the path to solace and purpose in the midst of chaos.

The sacrifice of Christ on the Cross isn't merely a historical event but a cornerstone for understanding our existence and navigating life's complexities. This conversation is an invitation to open your heart to the transformative power of Christ's love.

"The future of humanity passes by way of the family"--John Paul II.

Speaker 1

Welcome to the Become who you Are podcast , a production of the John Paul II Renewal Center . I'm Jack Riggert , your host , and I'm so glad you're with me . The question about eternal life . The question about eternal life .

It's very interesting that in Delecti Amici it's an apostolic letter that John Paul II wrote in the 80s , 1980s , mid-80s to the youth of the world on the occasion of International Youth Year . It was going to be a kickoff to what would become World Youth Days that are still going on today .

So that was over 40 years , or just about 40 years ago , I should say . And in this letter , delectia Michi , it means dear friends , dear friends , and he begins with this and he says in you there is hope , for you belong to the future , just as the future belongs to you , for hope is always linked to the future . It's the expectation of future good things .

And he gets them to look at the future and to understand that they are the ones that are going to be the agents , the agency , the people that will affect the future and how that all works . Well , soon after , this letter starts to get going and it's about a 28 page letter , so it's pretty extensive .

It outlines 16 different kind of different issues , but number five . So , pretty early on it says it talks about the question about eternal life , the question about eternal life .

And he says to the youth and he says to all of us , of course that in order to understand the future and understand the hope and understand your life itself , you have to be looking at eternal life and the question of eternal life .

Very , very interesting that he's going to tell young people to think about the end already in order to find meaning and purpose in your life . So that's what we're going to be cracking open a little bit today , very , very interesting .

And he got that from right after Matthew 19 that you hear me talk a lot about , where Jesus takes us back into the beginning , describes what the model of marriage and the family were like , and then , right after he was done with that , jesus blesses the children . He's worried about the children .

He says then children were brought to him that he may lay hands on them and pray . The disciples rebuked the people , but Jesus said let the children come to me and do not hinder them , for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven , and he laid his hands on them and went away . So here's Jesus , too , connecting them to this question about eternal life .

Well , right after that we have the rich young man and he comes up to Jesus . And behold , one came up to him saying , teacher , what good deed must I do to have eternal life ? And he asked him about that question . And that's where that came from . What must I do that I have eternal life ?

And then Jesus goes into a conversation with the rich young man and again he gets them to look toward the future . You know what is this all about . And then finally come and follow me and you'll understand what this life is all about . These questions that you have about eternal life are all about .

The other thing I'm going to break into just a little bit here , just to give you a little heads up , is the insanity when we separate that question of eternal life and so many young people are afraid to look at eternal life , to look at the end of their life , and John Paul is saying no , don't be afraid of that .

That's part of where your hope comes from . We're connected to eternal life . We're eternal beings . If you forget that , your reason and your intellect can be very clouded . Darkness can enter If you don't connect your yearning , burning , eternal desires of the heart for love , for eternal life .

If you don't connect it to heaven itself , then where are we going with this ?

One of the most insane things that we're going to find is this trans movement , and I want to crack that open just a little bit too , because it just shows you how cloudy and how dark we can get and we have to be able to proclaim this is just truth , it's just insanity going on out there , and we have the answer to it .

This is our hope , and we have to help young people through this . So buckle up and get ready for the rest of today's episode episode the question about eternal life . What must I do that my life may have value , have meaning ?

Each generation , george Orwell said in 1984 , I remember each generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it and wiser than the one that comes after it . We get wrapped up in science and technology today and we think we have this incomparable way to answer questions with regard to matter and the things around us .

But the reality is , if we really understand science and technology , the more we learn about the world and ourselves , the more intricate and the more fascinating and the more awe and wonder and we keep finding just new and new and new secrets .

And John Paul said that science and technology has also succeeded , though in really not a good way , in dominating the interior world of our thoughts , our capacities , our tendencies and passions . It's disconnected our hearts from that eternal story . So what must I do that my life may have value , have meaning ?

This earnest question comes from the lips of the young man in the gospel in the following form what must I do to inherit eternal life ? Is a person who puts that question in this form speaking a language still intelligible to the people of today ?

John Paul wrote again in the 80s are we not the generation whose horizon of existence is completely filled by the world and temporal progress ? We think primarily in earthly categories . If we go beyond the limits of our planet , we do so in order to launch interplanetary flights , transmit signals to other planets , send cosmic probes in their direction .

End quote there . So I ask do you find it interesting that while man , mankind , men and women of course search for answers in the sky , his heart is lost in its own ability to soar and it's tethered horizontally ? In this world , in this 2D world , we forget about eternal life , we forget about where we're going . We've forgotten our story . We're made for more .

We're made for so much more , and this is what our hearts are telling us . I just read a report that young people now take their lives in suicide more often than middle-aged men , which used to be the highest category . They're actually women attempt suicide in middle age more than men , but men actually do it .

You know women , they seem to probably be crying for help and don't really want to do this , but men , when they get ready to take action , they do it . My son had two friends that committed suicide one just in high school yet and then one in his late 20s .

It's really sad when we disconnect our hearts from this eternal love story and , at the end of the day , men have forgotten God . That's really something when we disconnect , and nothing is more insane than these transgender ideologies .

It's really crazy when you think about the way people are today , with drag queen story hours with these trans people , puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones . I mean slapping labels on young children and taking away their innocence . It's so insane that you can't make this stuff up .

If you think about putting man-made labels on people , especially children , and get back to what Jesus is saying there that we have to protect our children , right ? It's a destructive ideology . Anytime you put labels on kids , you're a drug addict , you're stupid , you're anorexic , you'll never amount to anything .

But our culture's obsessions with labels is never more fervent than when it labels those with same-sex attraction or these gender confusion . Or you're trans , you're an L a , g a , b , a , t , a Q , an , I , an , a , a double S plus .

You know , once we identify with a label , our behavior changes , and so when you slap a label on kids , often their behavior follows that label , and then we are no longer a child of God , a son , a daughter , a sister , a brother , but a label that seeks to separate .

Everything becomes focused on a label , for it's the self-seeking ideology that knows that it's much easier to manipulate those separated from the truth of who they are . This is really an evil ideology . It knows that if you can separate you from the truth of who you are , that a man is a man , a woman is a woman there's nothing that you can do about that .

There's no such thing as a trans child . There's no such thing as a trans child . Kids are getting cut up , sterilized because of a cult which teaches them that they're born wrong , and trans activists use these arguments to call you haters and try to get us to shut up . But there's no such thing as a transgender child . Just keep that in mind .

The activists will say it's a child whose imaginary gender ideology or identity , I should say , does not coincide with their actual biological sex . Okay , what's a gender identity ? Well , it's called a personality , and personalities don't require sex changes .

You know , personalities don't require us to put a label of trans on children , you know , and send messages that there's supposed to be something that they're not . It's psychological abuse and anybody that's going along with this is contributing to it . It's amazing . It's child abuse . Just remember that . It's child abuse . How many sexes are there ?

There's two , male and female . You know how many different ways to be male and female . It's infinite number of personalities Well , not infinite , but as many as there are people in the world , right , and there's big , big , big money behind this .

You got the porn industry , the human sex trafficking networks , big pharma companies that can sell their powerful and expensive drugs . Planned Parenthood , of course , is in it . You know , if we can't kill the baby in the womb , then we actually have a better money supply .

They're finding out because you have to come back monthly to get your trans pills , your estrogen or testosterone . The list goes on . The George Soros , rockefeller , ford Foundations , who were initially concerned with overpopulation , provide money to back these Planned Parenthood , and then they bring these gender ideologies right into the school and these labels again .

They separate us , sowing confusion in the individual child's heart , then within the family , separating parents from the kids , and at the end result it's really destruction of a child , the family , and this is what John Paul II called the culture of death .

And if there's an enemy who seeks to destroy humanity , this is ground zero Destroy human life at conception if a child makes it through the womb , render them sterile and even physically mutilate their body . So this is why John Paul II asked young people to look to the heavens , think about eternal life , think about where we're going . I love Russell Brand .

He's a truth seeker and he opens his book Recovery , freedom from Addictions . He's addicted to porn and he was addicted to porn and alcohol and drugs and he said if there's a way to be addicted to something , I'm them . He's been sober for 16 , 17 years , something like that a long time now .

And in his book Recovery , freedom and Addictions based on AA's 12-step program . He said this and , getting back to the statement I made earlier about science and technology , he said here , in our glistening citadel of limitless reflecting screens he's talking about little phones . Of course we live on the outside .

Today , we may awaken and instantly , unthinkingly , reach for the phone . It's glowing , reaching our eyes before the light of dawn . Its bulletins dart into our minds before even a moment of acknowledgement of this unbending and unending fact . You are going to die . Isn't it amazing , right ? You know we separate ourselves .

This technology , this is exactly what he's saying here . It gets in between your actual thought process . You live on the surface , he said .

We live on the outside , the outside of our own hearts , and he goes on to talk about some other things in here that are really , really good , whether you're into AA or not , and he uses some rough language there , but he , he did a good job .

I think nothing again is more insane when we separate our hearts than these trans ideologies , though this should be something that anybody can , with any reason , any intellect at all , should be able to look up and just go . This is crazy , because if you're talking about true science and true technology , you know this is impossible .

Tucker Carlson opened a show , probably a few weeks ago now , in a discussion on trans community and violence , and during his monologue , Tucker asserted that the transgender community is the mirror image of Christianity and the two groups are on a collision course . So you know , the transgender community is the opposite of Christianity .

You know , christianity says hey , we're created for meaning and for purpose . You're not an accident . And , of course , the transgender movement is that you're not a created being . There's no creator out there . This is it , this is your story . You're just here by accident . You know just atoms hitting atoms hitting atoms .

And then so you're completely at liberty to do whatever you want with your body and your life indulge it , trash it , end it even . For if this statement's true , your life is ultimately meaningless . Or , once again , christianity says no , you're a creative being . In that case , you've been created for a purpose . We know what that purpose is . That purpose is love .

If you decide that you're created for a purpose , that brings you to part two . Where are you going ? Where does this end of life look like ? You know that , that , that hole . You know that hole , that six-foot deep hole to be covered by dirt . And we take God at his word and we share eternal life with them . Well , this is our hope .

You know , we have these hopes . Look at all these people working on the not only not the trans movement so much , but the transhumanism right that we're going to live forever and we're going to be able to do it ourselves by putting a computer chip in our brain . Here's another insane thing .

But Tucker says the trans movement is the mirror image of Christianity and therefore its natural enemy . In Christianity , the price of admission is admitting that you are not God . That's a profound insight , a profound statement . Remember in Genesis 3, ? But the serpent said to the woman listen to this , you certainly will not die .

See , in the beginning we didn't die . But God said look , and if you go to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil , if you decide to take what's true and twist and distort it and call what's evil what's false true and what's true's true false and isn't that what we're doing today ? So listen to this again you certainly will not die .

No , god knows well that the moment you eat of this , your eyes will be open and you will be like gods who can now decide what is good and what is bad . You know , I'm finding more and more people once called themselves atheists or at least agnostics sensing the weight of evil , sin and death and death in the world .

Right Mysterium and equitatus , the mystery of evil that I've talked about so many times . Christians openly concede that they have no real power . Tucker says , over anything , and for that matter , very little personal virtue themselves , that we have to open our hearts in this fallen world . This is an end quote .

Personal virtue themselves that we have to open our hearts in this fallen world . This is an end quote . We have to open our hearts in this fallen world to a redeemer , don't we ? We need to be saved . Men have forgotten God . Alexander Schultz and Nietzsche said Let me continue here just a little longer with Tucker's statement .

They will tell you to your face that they are sinful and helpless and basically absurd . This is Christian's will . They're not embarrassed about any of this . They brag about it . Hey , we're sinners , we're helpless , we're basically absurd and we need a savior . That save the wretch like me , goes the most famous Christian hymn ever written in English .

The trans movement takes the opposite view . Trans ideology claims dominion over nature itself . We can change the identity we're born with . They will tell you with wide-eyed certainty that Christians can never agree with this statement , because these are powers they believe God alone possesses . That's why we can't agree with this .

If you're a Christian , god alone created you and he created you good . That unwillingness to agree , that failure to acknowledge a trans person's dominion over nature incites and enrages some in the trans community . People who believe their God can't stand to be reminded that they're not God . So Christianity and transgender orthodoxy are wholly incompatible theologies .

They can never be reconciled . They're on a collision course with one another . One side's likely to draw blood before the other side . It's very , very interesting Getting back to John Paul II's work . He saw all this and he reminded us . Now . This is going back to the early 20th century . He's looking back at the early 20th century . He was born in Poland .

He was born free , but by the time he was a young man the Nazis had come in , and then the communists . Then you think about the mass murder that's going on and this is what we're allowing in our country now . How did they get the power ? They twist and distort our reason , our intellect . They start to separate families and marriages .

The communists did this right away and got rid of God , right , got rid of the church . That's what they're all up to . Men now have willingly in our country , forgotten God , and so John Paul reminded us on the 20th century . He said it began with the hope of unlimited progress .

We all thought the age of enlightenment coming into the 20th century , but it ended as the bloodiest century known to history . Modern man had placed his hopes , john Paul said , for a Messiah and his own genius in science , technology and medicine .

Whenever man loses sight of the great mystery and sets his sights on this world , he always meets with disappointment , even despair . He said the world's not capable of making man happy . It's not capable of saving him from all evil , all types and forms of illness , epidemics , catechisms , catastrophes and the like .

This world , with all its riches and its wants , needs to be saved . It needs to be redeemed . We should all know that right . We should all caught on to this cosmic story by now Good versus evil , light versus darkness , love versus lust , and seek the better way that's been revealed to us . Yet somehow something has happened and we miss the larger story .

We get caught up in that much smaller story of our own making . Isn't this what happened today ? The result's always the same a broken heart . Recently , as our team at the John Paul II Renewal Center was wrapping up a presentation with a group of teens and this isn't the first time I asked them if they had anything particular they want to address .

When we came back , the topic requested you've probably heard me say this before mental illness . Young people are really suffering today . They want to talk about this stuff . A lot of people won't . I'm not afraid to talk about them and my team isn't afraid . We just listen .

We tell them we're not psychiatrists and psychologists and we always have their counselors or teachers in the room with us and they all know because what we do is we just bring them into this Redeemer , we bring them into prayer and it settles them down right away . They know this , they experience it with us and they've heard that we can do that right .

Of course we can . We just lead them in prayer why they wanted to know . So many of their friends and classmates suffer from anxiety , depression , gender dysphoria , cutting anorexia , even suicide and again .

In fact , suicide rates among young people has now surpassed middle-aged men , who had been the highest , and these young people have heard the culture's message , or lack of coherent message , loud and clear there's no truth beyond your truth or my truth . There's no meaning and purpose for your life beyond the one that you invent for yourself .

They're sensing , in their pain , that which mankind has known since the dawn of history , that which mankind has known since the dawn of history . The human heart was made for more and it does not function well in a world void of meaning and purpose . You can tell people there's no meaning and purpose .

You can tell young people that they're here by accident , but their hearts are going to be restless and anxious . We know that you know . In the midst of their brokenness and we're all broken in one way or another along comes some very good news . The path to meaning and healing and hope which leads to authentic love and profound happiness can be found .

But first know that there's a reason for your deep ache and your thirst for more . Men have forgotten God , wrote Schultz and Nietzsche . But St Augustine counters with an important clue to the solution . He writes our hearts are restless until they rest anew . So men may have forgotten God , which is true especially in our culture .

Schultz and Nietzsche wrote that back in the early 80s , and St Augustine was writing this back in the end of the 3rd and into the 4th century . We don't change . It doesn't matter what science and technology brings . You know , it could bring some very good things , you know , anesthesia being one of them . I've got a dentist appointment .

I mean , you know , I'm such a wimp now . My grandmother , from Poland , you know , lived to 100 years old . She'd go to the dentist and she didn't want any Novocaine or anything when they worked on her mouth . It's amazing the pain tolerance they had me . I just hear that drill , even if I'm numbed up and it hurts me , right .

It's amazing what happens , you know . But the good news is here . Hearts are restless , lord , until they rest in . You See , we don't change . We don't change . Science and technology can bring some good things . It also can bring , just like we just said in the 20th century weapons and technology to destroy one another .

So John , paul and the church always said there's a message , there's a path , and it begins with restless hearts , both yours and the Redeemer of man's . He's restless for you . This is so important for all of us to understand that the restless heart in us is looking for something more and we have to turn our eyes to the Eternal One and the Redeemer of man .

Jesus Christ is also . His heart is restless for you . The message , the path was amplified and developed for the subsequent 26 years by John Paul II's leadership as the Pope . It's amazing . So this path , he would call it , is the way of mankind .

It involves a proper understanding of our conscience , our free will , our intellect and reason , and it has to do with education , a proper education . What does it mean to be human ? What is human dignity ?

See , this is what they want to strip communists and Marxists and Satan himself wants to strip from these young people , put these gender ideologies into the school and push this down . What are they doing ?

Don't be afraid to stand up , because at the heart of it all , the Christian message is a path of love , and Satan wants to take that path of love and twist it and distort it so that we actually can kill each other . You know , kill young people , I mean kill them in the womb , kill ourselves in the womb and , if they make it out , render them sterile .

You know , we heard Jesus Christ already say bring the young children to me . We have to stand up for the innocents and these are defenseless , these young people in the womb and even beyond , when they're little . They trust us . You know it's amazing , and parents are bringing them to these drag queen story hours and letting this go on .

It's almost it blows your mind right . But at the heart of it all again , it's a path of love . Speak about love to people . You know it's a path of Christ . It's a path of the saints and and and and . It's a universal call to holiness and the sanctification of everyday life . You have to become holy , I have to become holy . Is it impossible ?

Nothing's impossible for God . For man , it's impossible . You know I have a lot of respect for Elon Musk . I actually love Elon . He's a genius on so many levels , certainly not without his flaws and imperfections . He's a seeker , though , with big desires and appetites , and the man behind , of course , tesla , spacex and X itself , formerly known as Twitter .

He did humanity a big service when he bought Twitter and opened it up to allow people to expose the evil of these trans ideologies and these gender ideologies being foistered on children . Back years ago , in an interview with Rolling Stone , he said that he had a rough childhood . His parents divorced when he was nine . Now think about what I just said .

You know about how we twist and distort . The sexual revolution came in and really , you know , twisted and distorted , allowed divorce on demand , abortion , same-sex marriages , rendering marriage meaningless . I mean , we all go through this . But his parents divorced when he was nine .

He went to live with this estranged father who he called a terrible human being , he said . He struggled all his life with loneliness , was mercilessly bullied growing up when I was a child . That's one thing . I never want to be alone . Well , that's our human heart . We don't want to be alone because we're looking for love .

But now he's been divorced three times . He had five sons from his first marriage . Can you imagine if he had the grace just to stay with that ? Maybe he'd have six or seven kids , who knows , by now . But bringing them all together in the union and communion of a family . Now he has 11 children , but with three different women .

He said if I'm not in love again , if I'm not with a long-term companion , I cannot be happy , I'll never be happy without having someone . Going to sleep alone kills me , et cetera , et cetera . And he describes that . And of course we're made to be persons of love , to be filled with divine love and to bring this up .

But we get to see what happens when you're looking for the infinite when we take our eyes off of heaven and we try to find it in the finite world . Now he's launching rockets into space and he's got his eyes set on Mars and he said it's about a 70% chance of his lifetime that we could actually resettle on that planet .

Now I don't know how true that is or not , but it doesn't matter to me , because this is just a little tiny rocket in this cosmos that's so grand and so powerful that God created it so that we could explore it . God created it for us to go out .

Musk said that his desire to colonize Mars is driven by the same passion that fuels people to climb mountains for the challenge . Well , you know , I know everyone who climbs mountains is never satisfied . It's always the next mountain or more mountains . See , he thought the next marriage would satisfy him , another child would satisfy him .

At the end of the day , his heart needs to connect to the infinite desires of the heart . You , the end of the day , his heart needs to connect to the infinite desires of the heart . You know , I young people if I only get the next A , or make this team , or get accepted by that group , or get a car or a phone or a job .

You know , if only I get that boy , or if I can get that girl or appear in new genes , then I'd be happy . Then I find what my heart seeks . Well , john Paul II and the church would say that what we're seeking is eternal glory , eternal life , eternal love , and we only get tastes of it here on earth . In fact , all the cosmos is created good .

It's meant to be a sign . When you look outside at the mountains and the beauty , or the beauty of trying to get to Mars and a rocket ship taken off , small B beauty that leads us to big B beauty . God himself , the crown of creation , is the primordial sign . It's marriage and the family , reflecting the inner life of the Trinity itself .

This is what needs to be taken down by Satan . This is why you see twisting and distortion , because all of life comes from this union . If they can go in and destroy life in the womb and think about all these ideologies again , it's amazing , huh ? So what's Elon missing ? One of Poland's great poets , krasinski , said this . He might say something like this .

I just was reading some of his stuff and so he's on my mind . He might say to Elon Elon , sometimes an engineer and a scientist needs to listen to a poet . We must accept and acknowledge that all the talents we possess , the greatest of all those talents is our own humanity and the humanity of those around us that we love .

If God asks us to give an account of how we used our various talents , he will ask us from this point of view , how have we used that fundamental talent , the talent of humanity ? See , this is the greatest talent . Why ? Because God himself paid for our humanity .

This price that was paid reveals the meaning of humanity , the value of the work of art that is mankind himself . John Paul II was also a poet , and he might add this for another poet who wrote the book of Genesis . As Genesis has it , john Paul said all men and women are entrusted with the task of crafting their own life .

In a certain sense , they are to make of it a work of art , a masterpiece . See , elon could be making a masterpiece with all the different things he's creating , but the masterpiece really comes in in a he's creating . But the masterpiece really comes in a love between a marriage and the family .

And the more complicated that gets , the more you move away from being in daily contact with your own children , and that's what happens when you separate stuff . Those children need a father , need a guidance in the home . Right as a person , the artist labors on various works of art , as well as the masterpiece of love and work that is himself .

John Paul said so to our brother Elon I would say you know , go to Mars , but don't be satisfied with Mars . Why stop at a planet when the eternal life , the whole of heaven , is our destination ? The desire for God is written on the human heart , because man is created by God and for God , and God never ceases to draw man to himself .

Only in God will he find the truth and happiness he never stops searching for . That's from the Catechism of the United States , the Catechism of the Catholic Church , number 27 .

Read that it was St Augustine , a womanizer , as a young man who never married the mother of his son , a man of the world who was never satisfied , always seeking , who one day heard St Ambrose preach the gospel . It touched his heart and he proclaimed you have made us for yourself , o Lord , and our heart is restless until it rests in you .

He found this out in his own life , lord , and our heart is restless until it rests in you . He found this out in his own life . Elon Musk , like so many of his contemporaries in the so-called modern world , speak and dream of transhumanism . It's an illusion , of course .

Another illusion , yet another clue that within the restless heart of man , elon and all of us , is yearning for eternal life For all , for us who wish to talk to Christ and to accept all the truth of his testimony .

It's true that , on the one hand , you should love the world , for God so loved the world that he gave his only son and , at the same time , john Paul said , you must acquire interior detachment with regard to all this rich and fascinating reality that makes up the world .

You must make up your mind to ask the question about eternal life , for the form of this world is passing away and each of us is subject to this passing . Man is born with the prospect of the day of his death in the dimension of the visible world .

At the same time , man , whose interior reason for existence is to go beyond himself , also bears within himself everything whereby he does go beyond the world . See , we have this in our heart .

Listen to your heart , the main thing you can do in this life and help these confused kids , but help all of us , help ourselves , is to go deep into that desire of the human heart , go even into your ache . This morning I got up and I was not sure of how the day was going to go .

I had a lot of things in my mind and finally I just got down on my knees . And I shouldn't say finally . I did it first thing Before I look at that phone . I do get down on my knees , but I was struggling yet in bed as I was waking up , with tossing and turning with some different things and I just gave it all to Christ .

I just gave it all to Christ . It's explained by the image and likeness of God which is described in our humanity from the very beginning . Christianity teaches us to understand temporal existence from the perspective of the kingdom of God , from the perspective of eternal life .

Without eternal life , temporal existence , however rich , however highly developed in all of its aspects , in the end brings man nothing other than the elucidable necessity of death . My dad is 98 years old . I mean , how much longer will he be here ? I don't know .

And you know I enjoy him while he's here and spent time with him while he's here , but he's going to go someplace and he knows that . That's why he keeps a joy within his heart , because he knows that he's a daily mask or he can no longer read or anything .

But my mom is still around and she can , and she reads the gospel to him every morning and makes them so happy . It's amazing how it does right . Human experience , left to itself , says the same as sacred scripture . So our experience says the same as sacred scripture . And sacred scripture says it's appointed for men to die once .

And the inspired writer adds and after that comes judgment . And Christ says I am the resurrection and the life . He who believes in me , though he die yet , shall he live . And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die . St Catherine of Siena . I'm gonna finish up with St Catherine of Siena , my beautiful sister , and a quote .

She says this and she was an incredibly passionate woman , you know , and very accomplished woman . She had the stigmata , you know . It's amazing . She says this in Christ's blood we are made strong , even though weakness persists in our sensuality . So we can see how this strength is gained , since all our weakness is in the sensual side of us .

Here I am saying , she said , is how we gain this glorious virtue of strength and steady perseverance , since our reason , our reason which seeks the truth , I might add is made strong in Christ's blood . I'm going to stop here for a second . This isn't the end of the quote , but our reason is made strong in Christ's blood .

Do you see what happens when God is taken out ? When God is forgotten , our reason is no longer strong , our reason is unreasonable .

You know , when a parent takes their child to get puberty blockers or to actually , you know , take their body and twist and distort it , cut off body parts , mutilate a person's , a young person's body , you know , cut the breasts off of your daughter when she's 13 years old . I mean , this is insanity . Something happened to her reason .

I mean it's good to talk about these things , because it's such an illusion , all of the stuff that we're doing . You can't even imagine this . We're going to be looking back on this if we survive the next couple of decades and look back and go . This was an insane generation . She goes on to say this .

So we must drown ourselves in this sweet , glorious ransom of Christ's blood .

How , with our mind's eye and by the light of most holy faith , we see it within the vessel of our own soul , in the knowledge that our being comes from God and that God created us anew to grace in the blood of his only begotten son , and in that blood we are freed from our weakness .

Oh , look and be happy , she says , for you have been made a vessel that holds the blood of Christ crucified . And here is her big if . If you are , but willing to taste it in the affection of love , if you're willing to open your heart up to that love story . So ask Christ , like the young man in the gospel , what must I do to inherit eternal life ?

And then expect an answer . Keep opening up your heart , opening up , have that deep encounter . And if you've had encounters in the past with Jesus Christ , which I hope you have , then continue to open up your heart . Then turn your heart with all its concerns , dreams , anxieties and worries over to the sacred heart of Jesus , the great physician of human hearts .

Hey , god bless you .
