Last day, last day. Goodbye Katara Ravash, Hello beautys, and welcome back to Beauty translated Minnesota number Bye. Wow. This week, I'm all by myself. I'm in the closet all alone. Well, I do have producers, Jess and Kurt with me here, very grateful for that. Yes, they are keeping me fed, they are keeping the lights on, they are bringing me water and whatnot. But yeah, I'm in the closet all by myself, and we're just going to cover some news. First.

I have a dog. He's almost three months old. His name is Sonny. I was making myself breakfast and I turned around and all of a sudden, he was shitting and before I could even pick it up, he had eaten one of the turns. So insert horrified soundboard effect here, whatever that may be. Anyway, that's what I'm excited about this week. My dog has not eaten any more shit. Let's move on to why we fucking hate it here, which is one of my least favorite states to discuss

is the state of Florida. And we're going to be talking about the state of Florida today because they are rotten, horrid monsters. So, as we know, Florida signed into law SB two fifty four, which was largely reported as a bill that targeted trans youth and limiting access to gender or firming care for trans youth, which is just one reason why we fucking hated here. But another reason, and a big reason why we fucking hated here, is because it has also limited access for gender firming care for

adults in the state of Florida. So when this bill goes into effect, it will make it so that nurse practitioners can no longer administer procedures for gender firming care, such as prescribing hormone replacement therapy, for example, which can be done online, can be done through telemedicine, and you go and you have your blood work done, a nurse practitioner in most places and every state but Florida is able to look at those lab results and administer your

hormone replacement therapy accordingly. But that is no longer possible in the state of Florida. And according to Aaron Reid, which is the source of the article that I'm reading from today, and we'll link that in the footnotes. But according to Aaron Reid, who is a fellow trans woman

and an independent journalist, please support her work. Eighty percent of gender refirming care in the state of Florida is performed by nurse practitioners, so that leaves eighty percent of the workforce that is treating trans patients in the state

of Florida unable to do that work any longer. So, as you can imagine, there's a lot of adults who are scrambling to figure out how they're going to get their not only their procedures done, but also mainly this is going to affect HRT prescriptions and things like that. So people are trying to figure out where they're going to get their hormones from being taken off of hormones suddenly,

not anything anyone should have to go through. The bill also includes changes to consent forms that now contain misinformation, calling gender firming care experimental and claiming that studies showing the improvements on mental health patients after such care is bogus, even stating that the quote Agency for Healthcare Administration has recognized that hormone or antagonist therapy may cause physical and

psychological harm. It's important to note that the Agency for Healthcare Administration is the governing body that controls Medicaid in the state of Florida. And this goes in line with the announcement that they already made in September of last year that they would be removing hormone replacement therapy as a requirement for adult Medicaid patients because it was considered experimental.

Now they're going even further with that, and it's just obvious that Florida lawmakers are trying their best to make the state completely inhospitable to trans people. So the state of Florida is literally at this point calling trans people just an experiment essentially, and that we're not worthy of care or bodily autonomy. So in two ways, that's why we fucking hated here. We're going to go on a quick break and when we come back, we'll get into

some good news. Let's celebrate that, all right, and we're back. First thing I would like to celebrate Maryland. The state of Maryland just became the next state to entrine rights for gender affirming care and abortion access into law. Governor Moore signed a bill last Friday that quote requires that medically necessary gender affirming treatment be included in all state Medicaid plans and administered in a quote non discriminatory manner. Governor Moore said, in our state, no one should ever

have to justify their humanity. Let's celebrate that. Thank you, Governor Moore. This is now our requirement of medicaid in twenty seven states in the US and banned in nine states for all ages. We're going to celebrate the twenty seven states which have protected this access. Let's celebrate that. Congratulations. And yeah, there are ten states that limit access for minors, nine that limit access for all ages, so Georgia being

one of them. Oh, one thing I wanted to say is I'm just excited about Maryland because I'm going to Baltimore later this year for my ffs. So cool. Love that, Okay, And to keep up with our friend in Montana, Zoe Zephyr, just a couple of weekends ago at a queer prom who proposed to her girlfriend, Aaron Reid, who we just quoted her article earlier in the Why We Fucking Mate It your segment. So congratulations to Zoe's Ephyr and Aaron Reid.

Let's celebrate that. Let's celebrate that gay people love their identical twin, and you know what, I support their right to find their twin and marry them anyway, can't wait for the wedding and for the last, but not least, the last thing I want to celebrate this week is I want to say goodbye. I want to give a last dance to our doll, the diva, Katara Rabash. Everyone say goodbye to Katara Rabaj Bye, Katara Nice, no and

ya anyway. George Santos has been charged and arrested. He was first charged by the Justice Department and a federal probe, and he has since been arrested. I'm sure everyone knows about this by now, but I just want to say, the photos have been great, the memes have been great. I've just been enjoying the moment. So let's celebrate that. Let's celebrate another probably Russian probe going to jail. What was he? He was Jewish, he was gay, he was

everything under the sun. I mean he was everything. Some people even think he's lying about being gay. So he's not Jewish. And his name isn't even George Santos. His name is Katara Ravage. So he's a compulsive liar. George Santos. We don't even know his name, we don't even know his identity. He's Jewish. His parents died in his weight who died in nine to eleven. His mom died in nine to eleven. Four of his employees died in the

Pulse nightclub shooting. I mean, it's a good thing he's been arrested, because it seems like bad events tend to follow him everywhere he goes. So maybe now that he's locked up, bad things will stop happening to the people in his life, because it seems like the common thread was that they all knew George Santos and not apparently a good person to know. So sorry to that person. Sorry to George's cellmate. You know that's gonna suck. I

don't know what's going to happen to his cellmate. His sellmate is going to like die in like the worst prison riot of all time. Probably, So yeah, we'll see. We'll be following the kaitar Rivas story and maybe she'll be on the next season of All Stars. Who Knows? All Right, listeners, Well, that is it for this week's episode of Why We Fucking Hate It here, and let's celebrate that. Tune in on Wednesday for our rock and roll episode featuring the very cool, very talented Robin danger

Fin sut I'll be in Nashville, bitches. Yeah mm hm
