Episode description

Join Karaleigh in an interview with Rach Wilson, a relationship coach for couples with special needs children. She shares her story of going through Hell Year, where her son didn’t sleep and she was in a level of burnout most can’t even imagine. Favorite takeaways: 1. All the way through Hell year, as hard as it was, in the back of my mind I’ve always had the belief that this is happening for a reason. I may not know what it is right now, but somehow I’ll use this information, somehow this will be something that I can give back to someone some way. 2. We tend to take other people’s behavior so personally and most of the time it has nothing to do with us. It’s their own problems and their own issues, and so when we look at them with compassion instead of anger, we have a better ability to understand and forgive and remain in our own calm place instead of rising to their anger. 3. Hope will get you through things you never thought possible. 4. God intervened. 5. One person listening can make all the difference. 6. Moms know. 7. I wouldn’t change the hard times. I wouldn’t make them any different. 8. There were moments of sunshine that got me through. 9. After Hell Year, there’s a lot we don’t take for granted anymore.
