Episode description

"I Trained Pull Ups Twice A Week" - Adam Sandel

Adam Sandel is a three-time Guinness World Record holder in pull-ups including “Most Pull-Ups in One Minute” (68 pull-ups, set December 2018). He is an athlete in multiple sports, a philosopher, and an award-winning teacher at Harvard University.

While completing his PhD in political philosophy at Oxford University, Sandel competed in international powerlifting. He is the author of the critically-acclaimed book The Place of Prejudice: A Case for Reasoning within the World (Harvard University Press, 2014), which has been translated into multiple languages.

We talk about how he trained to break the world record for most pull ups in a minute, how he ties philosophy into his training, and what world record he is training to break now. Enjoy!
