“What to Expect: Emotional Changes after WLS” with Featured Speakers: BariNation Founders - April, Jason, and Natalie

“Why do I feel this way?” Many emotions can come up after making a major life choice like weight loss surgery; both positive and negative. While the transformation can be very optimistic, sometimes feelings of sadness or loss can unexpectedly drop in. This can be impactful for not only for the person going through the surgery but also their family. The excitement and anticipation of weight loss can often overpower the reality of lifestyle changes that occur and the fear of the unknown. Some can experience a loss of sense of self, or confusion about identity and how one feels about themselves as a person. These include feelings of anxiety, grief, depression, anger, shame, and guilt. Join us as we explore the wide array of emotions – both expected and unexpected!
