Episode description

Trigger warning: This episode contains discussions about mental health challenges, trauma and suicidal ideation.

In this episode of Barely Naked, we sit down with Carrie Holladay, a Trauma Trained Somatic Practitioner and survivor of betrayal trauma. Carrie opens up about her personal experiences of betrayal in her marriage – and how these experiences led her to explore somatic modalities. She shares her journey of rebuilding trust after her husband’s betrayal and how reconnecting with her body helped her heal emotionally. Carrie explains the importance of somatic therapy in trauma recovery and how it can guide trauma survivors to re-establish trust, not only in themselves but also in their relationships.

About Carrie Holladay

Carrie is a mother, daughter, sister, wife, friend, and trauma survivor. After a long road of healing from the pain of betrayal in friendships, her marriage, and with herself, she found the path to true connection. She reconnected with her body, restored trust in herself, and was able to carry that into her relationships. She knew she needed to help others do the same, so now, as a Trauma Trained Somatic Practitioner, she has the honor of walking so many incredible trauma survivors back to an embodied connection with themselves and others.
