On November 14, 2015, 23-year-old Katie lay on a blanket outside an Austin, TX apartment complex watching the sunrise. When she closed her eyes for a moment, 17-year-old Pearl Moen crept from the bushes and attacked her. Later, the teen wrote about the murder in her diary, saying, “It was absolutely fantastic. Murder gives me a high unlike any other.”
