Episode 259: Ohio Strikes Down Issue 1

The people have Ohio have sided with Democracy by rejecting Issue 1 in a state referendum. The Ohio Republican Party backed Issue 1 would raise the vote for referendums from a simple majority vote of 51-49% up to 60-40% approval. This issue was put to vote in an attempt to stop abortion from being codified into Ohio law through an upcoming ballot initiative.
