Episode description

Birthplace of Biggie Smalls, Jay Z, and Big Daddy Kane, Brooklyn isn't generally associated with the new-age of emerging sounds of Minimal Hip Hop mixed with Alternative R&B. Against all odds, the 22-year-old singer/ songwriter/ rapper, G Milano is surfacing from the avenues of New York City with his fresh brand of contemporary soul that musically blends the urgency of popular music with the smoother, soulful sound of R&B. Reared on the slow jams of 112, R Kelly, Usher, and Chris Brown, Milano realized his talent as a teen, serenading his female classmates and eventually creating his first recordings at his makeshift studio. •••• The B-Side Podcast is produced by Charlie Hoxie, Kecia Cole, Ro Johnson and Sachar Mathias; recorded by Onel Mulet; and edited by Khyriel Palmer and Emily Boghossian.
