There are some disturbing things that are lacking in the healthcare system. We know we have an epidemic of opioid overdose in this country. We think it's coming from the streets illegally but many are getting it legally. Doctors are prescribing it. 81,083 deaths from opioids in 2023. There are some medical reasons for prescribing them but there are too many accidental deaths because of them. We need to do better. And we can do better. My message is for caregivers to become the advocate for their love ones and check and double check their medicine. Question the doctors and keep their love ones safe from accidental overdose.
