From the Voice of Taral Hicks: Alzheimer's is Not Fair

In 2016 ,Taral Hicks Dawson's mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Taral's Autumn has come.  As an actor, Taral plays many roles but no role is as impacting and devastating and important as her being a caregiver to her mom. This real life role is challenging and on going and it ways heavy on her heart. Her dad has excepted his role as husband and caregiver, which is not easy to do.  This disease affects her mom and her entire family.   They had some struggles trying to adapt to their new way of life as they care for mom and wife Edna , who is now ,in many ways, unrecognizable to them. Her personality and character has changed.  What she used to do, she is no longer able to do since this disease took over.  

 Fortunately Taral's family is working together to support Edna and each other on this rough and unpredictable journey.   Taral's faith is her strength and with God and her family she will make it through.
