Episode description

We visit with Chris Cornejo, who is the host of The Kink Perspective podcast and a prolific writer on kink and therapy on Fetlife. His perspectives have created a lot of discussion and we invite you to join in ours.
I'm a trauma therapist and veteran advocate working internationally with adults, couples, and communities navigating mental health, power dynamics, and post-trauma reintegration. Originally from the United States, I moved abroad more than a decade ago in pursuit of experiences that enrich my work and deepen my understanding of the human condition.
As a veteran, my focus is helping other veterans around the world reengage with life and reconnect with a sense of purpose after service. That remains the heart of my work.
With 26 years in the BDSM community, I also work with those exploring kink, identity, and non-traditional relationships. My approach is grounded, direct, and psychologically informed, without jargon or performance. I host The Kink Perspective, a podcast exploring the intersection of psychology, BDSM, and current events.
My work isn’t about offering quick fixes or feel-good takes. It’s about attunement: meeting people where they are, challenging them when they’re ready, and respecting the weight of what they carry. I don’t excuse harm, and I don’t treat trauma like a hall pass. The goal is clarity, honesty, and helping people move forward in ways that are actually sustainable.
I'm also the author of Tangled Desires: The Intersection Between BDSM and Psychology. It was my first book, and I’m the first to admit it didn’t land the way I hoped. But it was a start. The process taught me a lot about how we talk about kink, psychology, and self-discovery, and I still stand by the intent behind it, even if I’d write it differently today.
