You Must Trust Your Gut

Internal auditing is a complex field that requires a careful balance of intuition and analytics.

While it is important to trust the data, it is also important to trust your gut.

Bad auditors will bemoan this statement.

"What about objectivity and independence?" They'll ask.

"What about observing human behavior and what happens in the world beyond and/or in conjunction with the data?" is typically my response.
