With a bit of royalty and romance, it's definitely got enough originality to stand on it's own two feet in a crowded genre. But is it an enjoyable read?
Our YA Lit / Teenage Fiction bookgroup extroadinaire get a chance to review 'The Maze Runner' by James Dashner, the first of a 4-book dystopian trilogy in a similar vein to 'The Hunger Games.' Soon to be a major movie (Fall 2014), will the book stand on it's own, or will it be stuck in the shadow of the genre's biggest player?
