Episode description

"What are the people of Bacurau called?" "People!"

In this episode, we dig into the weird and wonderful Brazilian film Bacurau, from directors Juliano Dornelles and Kleber Mendonça Filho. This film blends western, horror, and sci-fi into an unforgettable film-watching experience complete with sharp political commentary. Nothing is at it initially seems in this film, but it is absolutely one of the best things to come out in 2020.

I'm joined by filmmaker Chad Hill, whose insights are always fascinating and who initially recommended this film to me.
