In 1982, Joann Tate and her two young daughters, Melissa and Renee, are savagely attacked in the middle of the night. Joann is stabbed to death and the girls barely survive. One month later, Melissa identifies Rodney Lincoln, one of Joann's ex boyfriends, as the killer. Two trials later, Rodney is sentenced to two life terms. Thirty three years later, Melissa changes her story and says the real killer is still out there. But no one believes her.
In 2018, new DNA testing leads the court to grant Rodney's release from prison on the grounds that he may not have been the killer. so who is?
