Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the great Adam Carolla. It's extra large because four hours simply usn't enough. This is armstrong and getty extra large. Adam Carolla, one of the most popular podcasters on Earth, comedian writer, doing a bunch of shows in Reno this weekend at the Virginia Street brew House. Go see him. He just had to add another show because he's so damned popular. Hello, Adam, how are you hi. I'm a big fan of listen
to you guys every morning at here on. Yeah, so now I'm going to be all nervous and I suck even more than usual. So the Virginia Street bru House and Rino actually like has human beings inside a building. We live in California. That thing is not happening here. So they're actually open there. Yeah, they're actually they're actually open. It's like a dinner thing. So it's not a club, you know, a stand up like a traditional stand up thing, because god forbid, we open California and just any I mean,
the rules are so ridiculous. You know. I'm out here in Burbank, California. A friend of mine from high school runs this uh kind of honky tonk eatery called Tinhorn Flats. He stayed open for outdoor dining during It's it's literally up the street from where I am right now. I ate there with my son during the outdoor dining band and the shut is electricity. And now they pad locked his doors and for for stuff they were wrong about and had no evidence to substantiate. You know, outdoor dining
was was dangerous. It's now punitive. It's now we've now crossed them. It's time to be punished, and they're gonna set They're gonna send a message to any other taxpayers and job creators who dared defy them. Yeah, we did that story the other day. I didn't know as your theas place, but um, so freaking maddening to me. So you you make it illegal to open outdoor with no evidence to back up, Why then when you violate that, then they can shut you down for violating health rules.
I mean that sounds like the Soviet Union, right, And it's basically, you know, it's one thing to have the government say, well, we have a health inspector and we have some standards, and we have to check for rodents in your kitchen. Sure this is them saying drop and give me twenty and you go, what why should I do that? And they go, well, you'd like to keep
your license, you'd like to keep your electrical open. They should be apologizing to every business they shut down for a month who already bent over backwards to accommodate them with outdoor dining. They should send over a fruit basket to every business they shut down with zero evidence. I talked to Dr Drew Yes today. He said, there is no cases of outdoor transmission. Zero doesn't exactly, of course,
we can strapolate that. I don't know what your situation with with kids of school age, but I got two kids at a school age that I put I had to put my son in a private school, even though I'm a taxpayer and school is supposed to be provided with my taxes, because they wouldn't open up the school, and again no evidence to back that up. It makes me so mad. I can't even hardly talk about it. I got fourteen year old twins. They've been in their rooms for over a year, and I talked to my
son last night. I said, when do you guys going back to school? And he said, well, now we're gonna go back towards the end of April, and I said, a great, you go there for three weeks and then summer vacation hits. But he said, but here's the thing that was interesting. I said, you're going at the end of April. What's the schedule and he said, two days on, two days off. You could be the Tuesday Thursday class.
You'd be the Wednesday Friday class. And I said, what about Monday and he said, oh, no, no school Monday. These guys are turning this into a three day weekend. Now.
They're literally going from not showing up to every every day is a three day week And the moronic media keeps reporting on all these schools and saying good news, parents, the schools are back open, even though for our local school it's two days, two hours per day and mandatory no teaching because they say it would be unfair to the kids that are doing it on zoom if they learn anything in the classroom, so there's no teaching during those two hours for two days. But the media continues
to say the schools are open. It makes me freaking furious. Well, the media, you know, the media who's spent in the back pocket of the Democrats for the last you know, ever since before Trump, but certainly we're sort of fed creatine during Trump's range. These guys are bending themselves into pretzels trying to protect these horrible policies, and unfortunately they're starting to break, or fortunately they're starting to break, you
know what I mean. Like, even the media can't keep this up, whether it's the border situation, whether schools being closed, whether it's you know, double masking after you've gotten the vaccination, even the media can't keep going with this. Like this is basically the media is essentially like you know in those crime caper movies where they go, we're gonna rob this, uh,
we're gonna rob this jewelry store. And there's the one guy going, fine, i'll drive, and then they go here's a gun, and he goes, no, I don't want to kill anybody. I mean, I'll participate. But it's getting we're going too deep now. So I think a lot of the mainstream media, I think the problem with what's going on and some of these guys, it's like Gavin Newsom, you know, Gavin Newsom is is losing a lot of his base and a lot of the mainstream media now
or Cuomo. You know what I mean, They've they've gone so far that they're actually losing their constituency. Well, Gavin Newsom has been so bad for so long. Virtually every aspect of his administration is just sucked, and it's you know, it's good to see the recalls happening and the rest of it, but I don't really see the well, you know what I almost said, I don't see the l
A Times calling them out that much. But they did have pretty good coverage of, for instance, the thirty to forty billion dollars worth a squandered unemployment benefits and stuff like that they've given. And I'm a good whooping on that. But um thinking that the l A the l A Times, sorry for cutting you off. Go ahead, the l A Times. You know what they're doing. They're not waking up, they're thawing out. Which there's a difference, you know, wake up.
They're not getting a cold bucket of water in the face. They're just fine. They're just kind of going slowly starting to melt away and start to the ice is melting away and we're starting to kind of wake up to this. And after all, I guess we were a newspaper, so we should do something. You know, it's a slow process, but it's it's like turning around a battleship, you know. They just they started turning. Well, especially because so many of the people in newsrooms these days, and we're speaking
from personal experience, they're kids. I mean they they're not died in the in the whole old timey principal journalists. There are a bunch of woke kids who've been out of college for six months. They don't know what they're supposed to be. Well, they were told they're supposed to be social justice warriors, but so you know, the narrative is the only thing that matters to them. Honestly, that's
the way it seems anyway. Yeah, it's an it's an interesting phenomenon, and I think you stumbled onto which is since colleges have sort of become the centers where you go, everyone has to pick a cause, everyone's got to choose a side, everyone's got to be woke, everyone's got to be a warrior. Well then, how are you supposed to leave that behind when you leave campus? Well, well they are. They're sent out in the world to do precisely the
opposite their religious zealots. They're out there to spread the gospel. Right, But then you you get a job for the New York Times, obviously you're just gonna keep you have a mini These are like Mormon missionaries at this point. You know they're not there to figure out, you know, what's what's fair and what's equitable. They're there to extend their agenda. How long did you go ahead? I was gonna say that the part of this whole thing pandemic is really
shine the light on it. For me, it's not the media, and it's not Gavin Newsom, and it's not the government. The thing that's been eye opening to me is how many citizens are willing just to queue up and go along with everything. Yeah, it was shocking. Yeah, that was shocking. Does too. I didn't know it would be possible to shut down the whole town's businesses before this all happened. I didn't even know you could do it, even if
you made it a law. And people were so willing to stop going to church, shut down their businesses at great expense, let their kids not be educated without much pushback in a lot of areas, it was. It was surprising to me too. Well, I still see. Polls were like half a parents say probably ought to keep the schools closed until it's safe. What the hell are you
talking about? How about all these people that you know, they interview these people on CNN and you know, they're talking about Texas fully reopening and dropping all the mandates and all that stuff, and they interview all these people and they're like, we've come this far. What's a couple of more months. I don't get it. It's like, you don't get it. It's it's been a year. What do you mean, what's a couple What's a couple of more months to do something that has no fact? Like, what
what do you mean? So that's how long did you go without doing stand up? Or did you find places around the country that we're still open? I just found places around the country that we're open. I've been to Texas, I've performed in Texas three times, Oklahoma City, Nashville, I've been all over the country. Any place that's open, I go. That's wild because I live in one of the early counties to close in America, and and I mean there's been nothing happening in my county for like a year.
But you know that's such as being a California You know, I forgot to mention that Adam's show is entitled Adam Corolla is Unprepared. Have you ever noticed that the title of your show makes any difference? I mean, if it was called Adam Curla shows you his Schwans or Adam Curla Beats the hell out of your grandmother, anything, does that matter? I did do Adam Carolla Beats the Hell out of your Grandmother, and it was actually five sold
out shows, people showing up with their nana. There are more people that don't like their grandparents that do like the grand that turns out that's beautiful, Oh my god. And Adam's new book as I am your emotional support animal. Hey, just to go backward for a second, and not to get all policy on people, but the point I'd like to make on the show a lot on our radio show, because it's important to know this is our system of
government was not designed because everybody loves liberty. It was designed because a lot of people are sheep and they want a king, and the founding Papa's knew it, so they designed a system that the majority couldn't vote their own rights away. No wait, hold on, can you hear me? Yeah, we can, we can now, are you okay? Yeah? You glitched out as you're saying, Joe, that's the singles smartest thing I've ever heard in my life. But we'll get over it. That's all right. Go see Adam Corolla at
the Virginia Street Blue House and Reno this weekend. If you can't figure out how to get tickets, you probably can't afford them, but you can call seven seven five seven fifty. That's seven seven five, seven hundred. We appreciate your time today, Adam. It's always good to talk to you. Thanks. Guys always like to be on the show. Thank you.
