Kris Pearn is a director, story artist and animator with experience in film and television in companies such as Sony Pictures Animation and Netflix, including such films as Surf's Up, Open Season, Arthur Christmas. He is a director of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, and his recent Netflix's animated feature "The Willoughbys" !
In this episode Kris talks about all his journey of becoming a director. From his past of working for the legendary Don Bluth, studying at Sheridan and how he end up being a teacher to my previous guest Deanna (Episode #5) .He shares the differences between TV animation and feature film and the valuable lessons he learnt from it, great tips about storyboard and pitching your ideas and how he is layering jokes and adding homour to his work.
