Welcome to. Are you quizzing me? I'm very tired with my co-host, Aditya kashyap. This is a quizzing trivia podcast show, where we ask each other questions, and share what we know and learn with you, though, in a quizzing format, it's not competitive. The questions are simply a way of sharing, our love of trivia. So sit back, relax and join us as we explore the depths of
human knowledge. Here's the format, we ask each other questions alternatingly as many as time permits, while giving as many Clues is needed to help each other get to The answer. Let's get quizzing. Another day. And another episode, we are back at the dni for around of quizzing, but before we start, we have to answer the question that they asked all of us last episode. So the idea, what is your question? And what is your answer?
So we were talking about countries, co-opting Sports, and putting their own country name like American football in front of it to completely just monopolize it. And I asked which country could do that with the hundred meter dash. Okay, beneath. I have to tell you that I am very proud of this answer, as I am of most of my answers every week. In this case, it would be to. Come on, man.
All right, in this case, it would be the Asian country of Iran because you don't need the card and anything you just say Iran. Oh god. Seriously dude, I really don't know what to do with you anymore. Or Iran you just as now. If using American football, it secretly and II can puncture the balloon a little bit. One reason you create today.
Though if you if you were to be nitpicky like that, technically rain Ian would be an anglicized way of saying it, the eye Didn't the Irani way of saying it would be rani's Irani hundred meter dash, with still sounds pretty cool if you ask me. Now, 100 meter dash, this is so annoying. Okay, okay, okay. So let's get down to business as to put Marshall Mathers. I think it's my turn to start of the proceedings today. Let us hit it off with your
question. Yes. So I'm going to start with some Bring a little fun. Okay, during this is sports by the way. So, brace yourself during the 1930 World Cup semi-finals between the United States and Argentina, the North Americans were taking a kicking in more ways than one. They eventually lost the match at 61 but it was also very ferocious match with a lot of challenges.
Having one particularly Tackle required that the u.s. trainer 1 mr. Jack code to enter the pitch to give some treatment however, very shortly after he was carried off the pitch. Unconscious. Can you guess? Why? Oh, okay. Let me, let me just say this up front. I don't even think it qualifies as a quiz question, but I found this piece of trivia and I was like, there's no way I'm leaving. This out of the next episode. Alright, okay, no, I love those
questions. The most I am going to venture a guess. He ran into the the pole like a cartoon character, just bang on and do a half, right? And that it is very cartoony, but it's not the fact that he ran into a pole. No, I have no idea. Absolutely. He got hit in the head by a ball by a stray ball. No, I'm baby being very unfair
with you. I don't know how you could possibly guess this, but let's just say that this has been a Trope of a lot of slapstick, comedy movies, especially you know, spiral, he's and slip on a banana peel. No, not exactly. Let's just think about that. Just think of maybe like, you know, a spy movie or an action.
Movie or somebody trying to kidnap, you know there's a farce and somebody's trying to kidnap somebody, you know there's some there's a particular troop in that which came which basically you know ran in real life during this match. Oh I know what so if it's a kidnapping probe then it is somebody driving up in a maruti van, opening the doors and canoeing and the profile of her kidnap victims in Bollywood.
You have no idea, but as I said this is not something you could probably guess but this is so much fun. Okay, so as mr. Jack Cole trainer of the u.s. national football team there who want to, I want to. I want to oh God. How, what kind of clue? Can I give? Okay, so let's just think of
this. If you were thinking of the movies in the 70s in India or in even in fire, no much in Hollywood. I don't think this was a few much, much, too much of a Trope, but in, if you were supposed to kidnap somebody in the 1970s, right? And you wanted to do it quietly, what would you do or what would you use? Chloroform yes. Bang on the trainer of the u.s. national football team, trotted. Onto the grass. And as he was walking along, he dropped his medical bag and in doing.
So he broke a while of folklore reform which was in the back the fumes knocked him out and as a result it was he rather than the player that he went to treat who was carried off the pitch. Beneath I gotta say you're playing fast and loose with the whole Cuisine idea here. But I am so for it I am here for this for trivia which nobody should know, nobody would know but now we do, I guess should I just do not make up for this the city question into tasks a serious one and you know what
role is needed at that. Let's treat it as a proper question. I'll I love it. I mean, looking great. Great. Great. Okay. I have nothing remotely as interesting but every day this table talking about a garment a piece of garment that is the most expensive comment ever sold at a Christie's Auction back in 2006, there are three versions of this government One is kept
in an archive. The other is at a museum of garment in Madrid and the third one was the one that was at the Christie's Auction. Okay. So this is the most expensive government ever. So little in 2006. It does. So 607 thousand Euros. So is it like a record that still stands or was it just for something that at that point of time the article that I'm referring to is from 2020 and it says it is still the highest expensive for a diamond.
There is a small caveat but I'll get to the caveat later that it would be a clue. Yeah, let's say that. Okay now, so you'll have to give me a clue because I'm currently, I'm like, what kind of garment Is it some kind of film prop? You have given yourself the hint? I guess it is not the most expensive government ever. It is the most expensive government that has been seen in film. Oh yeah, most expensive government with infantry in and film. Okay, so we're talking about iconic.
Oh okay, okay, okay. I have a I have a guess. Is this? The Little black dress from Breakfast at Tiffany's when he sometimes, I just wonder what do you eat for breakfast? Because by the time midnight rolls around, you're still working 100% of efficiency. Yes, you are right. That is the answer. It is the the black distal Holly Golightly is test from Breakfast at Tiffany's. So just a little bit more trivia
in relation to this. So this was designed by oh boy, I'm gonna embarrass myself but you bought the she won't Shake. Is that how that fashion brand is pronounced giv and chy? However, that is only that's Givenchy Givenchy. I'm not I'm not even going to bother fact-checking this. That. So the guy who designed it and this was obviously for Audrey Hepburn for the movie based off of the book Breakfast at Tiffany's for which by the way, Truman Capote, the author had had envisioned not Audrey
happened. Rather Marilyn Monroe who turned down the role and hence the iconic role when two or three epic. And this was sold in an auction at Christie's in 2006 for mopping, six hundred and seven thousand Euro. Rose the other two versions of the dress. One is at the archive of Ceviche and one is at the Museum of garment in Madrid.
And the the money that was raised was actually given for for funds for children and Kolkata for underprivileged kids in Kolkata. So little bit of an India tie-in over there. Yeah. Okay. You give me a very nice segue when you connected with India. So, my next question is a very Three Indian question. Again, this is I love this piece of trivia because I don't think many people know this about this particular person even though he's very, very famous.
Okay. So here's go, it's a little bit of a long question because this person's had a very eventful
life. Frankly, I'm jealous. In 1947, this individual along with his wife, after leaving their infant son at home, conducted a daring flight through Dutch guns, and rescued, the first p.m. of Indonesia and other Indonesian Freedom Fighters apart from rescuing 1 p.m. he was also the one who named a future president of Indonesia. He later flew sorties over Kashmir in 1947, And this kind of Daring was nothing new to
this man, okay? He had flown innumerable sorties to rescue, British families, fleeing, the Japanese advance, and Rangoon, he dropped Arms and Supplies to Chinese troops, while fighting the Japanese, and later to the Soviet Army, struggling against Hitler's. Onslaught mere Stalingrad. Before that, he was jailed by the British for dropping political leaflets to Indian soldiers, fighting under British command in Burma. He also flower through to understand missions that can Carried congress.
Party leaders from hideouts across India, although very initially close. Very, very initially close to the narrow Gandhi family. He was one of the first individuals should be jailed. During the emergency, he has twice served as a chief minister of a state and has an airport stadium and University named after him. And in something of a very unique honor, I think even across the world when he died, his coffin was wrapped in not one but National flags, who is this guy?
Who is this individual just base of the last clue? Somebody has been honored by multiple countries. I would have guessed rabindranath tagore but I don't think I got was flying around that much. No, I think, by 1947 he had passed away. Fair enough Fair. Okay. Multiple countries. Pilot is this that the chap Who
was? But again, he's famous because he was his court case was the one which led to jewelries being know you're talking about another potentially I thinking about yes he was a naval officer. He was a naval officer who has an evil of know yet he was on the pilot is in your office. Yes pilot who is who has been the chief minister twice. Oh yes, he's twice served as a chief minister of the state is in the same state.
And with state is that Okay, if I give that, that's kind of giving it away, what does we all know that? I wouldn't be able to guess but I'll give you this his son is also a chief minister or is it such in Pilot? No no, no, no, no, okay, that would be very nice one if it was pilot but no cute little tiny over there. Okay, his son is also chief minister and I have the same state of the same state. Tate. Yes. Wow. Who may be like Sierra said? He's all generation doesn't know
how much of a badass. This person was. So as I said you, even if you give me his son's name or tell me, it's like this person's father, I will give it to you. It's frankly, a crying baby. I mean like most people that I've talked to have not heard of this person. I mean, like when I tell him that this is, you know, this Chief Minister's father, they are like, oh okay. But when you tell him All the badass things. I mean, like, literally I wouldn't be able to fit all the
badass things. He's done into a question. It's just this man has lived a life that would be, it would read Stranger Than Fiction. If you wrote it on a novel, people will be like please interesting. Okay, no, I definitely need a hand, so, whatever hint you want to give me. I will give you a hint. He the only hint I can give his son and he was chief minister. Ders of orisha, no Vin but like it is Naveen patnaik father.
Yeah I mean I mean by I was actually gonna send of input lag because I know his father is but I had no idea his father was such a yeah you seriously. Okay I'm gonna I'm gonna go that into a little detail but Naveen put Max father of fondly called Biju patnaik but who was born to protect ya began on the Potomac? Okay, now let me just get into the badassery of this man a
little bit. He met jawaharlal nehru during his participation in the Indonesian Freedom, struggle and became one of his trusted Friends. When the Dutch attempted to quell Indonesian Independence, are in July of 1947, President sukarno ordered the order strategy through. The former Prime Minister of Indonesia to leave the country to attend the first interracial conference, which was organized by narrow in 9 July. In 1947 and to ferment International public opinion
against the Dutch, right? But then charade was not able to leave Indonesia. So narrow asked Biju, patnaik to rescue this guy along with other Indonesian Freedom Fighters, which you put Nike and his wife gone with the who's also a pilot. By the way amazing lady flew to Java dodging, the jaffna, touch guns, entered Indonesian airspace landed on an Avoid strip near Jakarta using leftover fuel from abandoned Japanese military dumps.
It took off with prominent layer Rebels including Sultan, charger, and Ahmed sukarno for a secret meeting with narrow in Dairy. For this act of Bravery was given honorary citizenship in Indonesia and awarded the bumiputra, the highest Indonesian award, rarely granted to a foreigner in 1995 in Indonesia or separating a celebrating its 50th Independence Day. Biju patnaik was awarded the highest national award the pin tank just saw Ultima in 2015. So Cardinals daughter megawati,
sukarnoputri recounted. How it was Sputnik, who suggested that she be named. Make her worthy or daughter of the clouds. She became Indonesia's. First female president, serving from 2001 to 2004, but Nike was also close to Indira Gandhi who took over the congress party in 1967, but after the presidential election, In in 1969, they clashed, he left the Congress and formed a regional party in the 1971. Assembly poll, his party.
Did well and but Mike, then re-established contact with Jai prakash Narayan. And when the emergency was declared in 75 Biju, patnaik was one of the first to be arrested along with our proposition. It's you should really lead about this, man. He is war. Exploits are just more legendary, his wife another badass person, and by the The infant son that he left behind. Well why he? And his wife went on a mission from which there was no guarantee there will come back on. That was Naveen.
Patnaik God damn. That is one hell of a story. That is so cool. I'm just thinking. When you were telling me the story, it sounded like a top gun Maverick level of, you know, Privado and this deserves to be in film. I don't know why it hasn't been made and I'm Frank. Leary Really surprised. You know it's it is shocking to me that Akshay Kumar has not been, you know, volunteered to place which you have put it out
there in the universe. That is soon going to be a Bijou, starring Akshay Kumar in the works. Probably in leaving the making make on and what a great, great
piece of trivia love that. And again, like you said, I knew Naveen patnaik and is Father, word in politics, and presumably Chief Minister's. But I had no idea that there was such a it, is he okay, by the way, three flags that were draped across his coffin when he died for the flags of India, Russia and Indonesia. Now, there may be other individuals, but I could not find any other individual who had three Flags over their coffin. That's a very very rare honor. Good.
Good for sex. Yeah so next question you're done. So this particular form of entertainment was given its name based off of the sponsorship that it received. So the name that it is known or known as came from the sponsors. So type of sponsors that they had What form of entertainment that has been long running for for perhaps, almost close to a century site to short of century is, is being referred to here. What am I talking about?
Okay, so we're talking about a form of entertainment, we choose got its name because of the type of sponsors, it had snot board will write not. What will, what will Soapbox, no, wait, so pokecenter I'm no, wait, no, that's happened. Kind of, isn't there something about a soapbox and know I'm thinking of something else. Okay, no, that was a random guess, okay, I need a clue of some sort here. Okay, I'm trying to think of a clue, which would be app.
It is it aimed at the mostly female population, this particular form of entertainment. So, Opera, soap opera is right answer, which is why I was like, like there was so box, okay, okay. I don't know why I was thinking soapbox. I was thinking of actually an apple cart, you know, people, you know, standing on Apple carts and doing something is I don't know what kind of connection my brain was making.
But then suddenly for some reason, I went from Apple Cut Pro softbox and I was thinking, what the hell am I thinking? I'm like, okay that's a dumbass, that's how I pictured my wedding. Free flowing connection stream of Consciousness. Nothing. You don't want to be inside my head. Frankly, dystopian landscape inside. Hey honestly, I have the time. It just entertains me and it blows me away. So what is happening in then? Keep it going. And as for in jail, you got
that, right? It is the soap opera soap, operas are named because soap and detergent commercials, which were the main sponsors of the show. Shows were originally broadcast during the shows. And they were aimed at women who are presumably cleaning their house at the time of viewing. And so the main target audience for women, they thought that women cleaning the house would also want to be perhaps shown commercials, which was related to cleaning and so, soap and detergent commercials.
And that's how those soap operas came to be known as soap opera, that was my idol question. Nice nice. Okay let's move from TV to movies. Okay, X, this individual is an Irish Bond actor raised in Leeds England, he's been nominated eight times for the best actor, Oscar but never wanted once key was bestowed. The special Oscar for lifetime achievement in And three, but he tried to turn it down stating that he was still in the game and would like more time to win the lovely bugger out.
Right. Who's is actor? Sean Connery, no, no no Frank. I don't think some countries I believe with all due respect to the gentleman. I don't think he's done anything that would warrant a Tha Carter II. You know Academy Award nominations nominated. Eight times for best actor, sir, Ian McKellen. Oh, very good candidate. But no clothes clothes. He would be, I think a, if not a contemporary maybe slightly, one generation prior to in McAllen.
I'd have to look at the latest to confirm, but yeah, I think he was maybe like 10, 15 years older, okay. Are there any other hints for maybe the body of work for the sector? You know, him for her? That is a guarantee of more than anything else. If I tell you, the new movies that he's been nominated for. Okay, I'll give you 2 level clothes. I'll give you the clues of the actors who actually won the Oscars. The years that he Moment, he was
nominated, okay? It's an indirect, you're just trying to torture you a little bit. So the first time was 1962, he was nominated but the award went to Gregory Peck or To Kill a Mockingbird. Okay, again, normally didn't 64 but it went to Rex Harrison for my fair lady. Then in 68, when to Cliff Robertson for Charlie, 69 it went to John Wayne for True Grit 72. It went Marlon Brando for The Godfather in 88, went to Robert De Niro for Raging Bull in 82. It went to Ben Kingsley for Gandhi.
And in 2006, it went to Forest Whitaker for the last king of Scotland. Where does run 650? Remember the Oscars and Forest Whitaker is doublet. I was fantastic actor, is it Michael Caine? Many germs? No, no, I don't like the game. So I'm going to take a British actors but then you said he's so Venture Scottish would reason, Scottish Irish born Irish so
that irish-born. So it's quite obvious from his name that he is Irish or maybe some Irish Tisha mostly, Irish or Scottish, you wouldn't confuse. It is an English name, even though he's completely the, you know, he's played so many English characters. Okay, I'll give you this. He's most of his nominations have come for at least three of them have come for playing historical characters. They cannot period pieces isn't
Laurence Olivier right now. We'll know it's easy and it's a very not Laurence, Olivier and know. Okay I'll give you the movies. I'll tell you the movies that he was nominated for. You're going working myself backwards, working backwards. Right? So because if I tell you the one, the first one inculcated immediately, so I'm just going to go backwards in 2006. It was for the movie Venus in 1982, it was for my favorite year in 1980. It was for the stuntman in 72.
It was for the ruling class. Okay 69 it was for goodbye, mr. Chips 68 it was The Lion in Winter 64. It was Beckett and 62 Beckett Beckett. That gather gather the tall dude. The really tall dude. Yes. The really tall dude. Blue eyes. He was miscast in addressing. The the first film was Lawrence of ugly way. Yes, I do.
Because because learns of Arabia was not that tall, but they cast him, but I thought he was not that old and that was one of the most historically inaccurate casting in that way. But he did a fantastic job. Oh my God. What's his name? What is that guy's name? It is. I'm gonna I'm gonna go outside and kick myself after this podcast recording. It is something You might say he was something of a duel is Peter. O'Toole Peter O'Toole.
Yes. It is of course, Peter Seamus O'Toole was the son of a Scottish nurse and an Irish metal plater. So you know, his you know, achievements, all the movies is made, you don't meet you don't need me to tell you all. I just told you about a small snippet regarding his Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002. The academy honored him with in a Academy honorary award for his entire body of work and lifelong contribution to film. He balked accepting and wrote to the academy.
A letter saying that he was still in the game and would like more time to win the lovely bugga, outright the academy are involved in that they would bestow the award, whether he wanted it or not, he told Charlie Rose in January 26. Thousand Seven, that his children, admonished him saying
that it was a highest honor. One could receive in the film industry, O'Toole agreed to appear at the ceremony and received his honorary Oscar. It was presented to him by Mel's Meryl Streep, who has the most Oscar nominations of any Act of actors. He joked with Robert Osborne during the interview at Turner, Classic Movies, Film Festival that he's The Biggest Loser of all time, due to his lack of Academy Awards. Even after eight nominations,
Very, very good actor. I haven't seen a lot of sense, but the few have seen very good Lion in Winter. You have to see the Lion in Winter. I have not seen that on our check it out now it's just everything. Goodbye, mr. Chips. It's very, you know, I watched Good minor chips. And when I was very young and I didn't quite get it. When you watch it as an adult,
it hits, you little differently. You have to get used to the camera angles in the camera movement, which is very different from the kind of editing and you know, cinematography that we have now. But Once you get immersed into it now, it's just it's a brilliant film.
You know, I felt a similar vibe from like Kurosawa films because I wanted to watch something different from the usual Hollywood. And that's when I first encountered, the biggest names outside of the US and realized you're so used to watching films of a certain grammar and certain way of Storytelling that when you watch something very different coming from a different background, it is jarring initially. He like core Services editing
and stuff is very iconic. Lee, Curtis keyholes a shot, he holds a short for a long time. What is the movie? The there is the movie about the nameless Samurai who comes to town Yoshida, oh no, Seven. Samurai is not the name is no, not have inside me, right? So there's that, there's one, which it's been remade or number of times. I'm trying to remember the name. Lord, Russia one either. No, not Russia. My brush. When I have another trivia for rashomon brush alone is just a
classic. I watch that movie many times. I can't remember the name of this movie. It's about a, you know, a nameless Samurai who comes to a town and then, you know, he it's like she and I think if Shane was inspired by this movie, if I'm not with, we shall shall cyclic. This later fact, I said please, please the resistor. I'm not sure if she was inspired when it, but it's a very similar kind of You know concept Ronan coming to town but you're right kurosawa's grammar his way of
shooting things is so different. It takes a little almost shocked watching it for the first time. It's almost a shock and if you're used to this kind of, you know, snap by editing world. Yeah, it is rewarding the once you once you start yes. Getting used to but once you get used to it. Yes, I totally agree. You know, that that famous scene and rashomon where Heat Throws a dagger and pinzer leaf onto the tree. Yeah, yeah, that.
So I was watch that. And then I read a piece of trivia about it, and I haven't watched it again. So, in those days, there were no special effects. This is moving from the 40s, so he had to shoot a scene where the samurai throws a knife and it's, you know, spirals of the air and hits a Floating Leaf and pins into a tree. He wasn't able to do that because there's no special effects at the time. So what are you did?
Was he did it in reverse, keep in the dagger to a leaf, had a very small, thin twine and then yanked, it short that. And for the movie, he put it in reverse. That was the nudity. So that is very, very smart filmmaker, obviously, wonderful. That's a very lovely piece of additional trivia, for us. Thank you. Thank you. Okay, the, I believe that is back to me. This is a Kinect question. So connect these entities Jung IL. Woo? Okay. Wow. Okay.
Honeycomb to toffee and covid. This is that Netflix series. What is it called? Screams. No screaming. Let's go. Let's go. This would give my I don't know, I don't know. I mean I don't think so. No, no. I think he's not in spirit. Cannot be any said, honeycomb toffee. I was like okay. It must be that the cracker thing that they bite it off. No, that's a great guess. We're close now. Okay, Jung, il-woo Macau hate. But how is this connected movie? It's not.
No, it's not a movie. It's not a movie. Okay, I'm I'm because we're the moment is a jungle boy. I'm thinking of movies. And what movie is? It could be in our thinking with. Okay? No, so it's not a movie. No, it's not a movie. This is the Hong Kong protests. No, however, there's no, no, it's not, it's not, So let me again, repeat the four things. Okay, this is South Korean
actor. Jungle whoo. Yes Macau. Okay honeycomb toffee and covid-19 Gambling is perhaps not the not the connect to Macau. That that would help here. Okay, what is his McCall famous for very ignorant of portability. Only thing I know about is, you know, gambling in the casino in Macau, and the hotel isn't what? Not fair enough. But no, in this case, it Macau is just the place that would connect these things. So it isn't so much about what McCall is famous for.
Its makka, just happen to be the place that that connects it will be clearer when similar, okay, give me another clue. So the honeycomb toffee that I'm talking about is a poor Ian, honeycomb coffee. And the Kinect is literally that Taffy actually on the name of the coffee, the other. So I would not fall to you even for the slightest moments. If you don't know this answer because And line worker during covid-19, but for the rest of us, do some things are some of
the plans come to mind. Okay? But if you ask me, why the my brain made this connection, I wouldn't be able to tell you. Okay. Is it that coffee thing? You are just genius thing where they keep whipping the coffee till it becomes. I don't know, like some kind of Peace before before, I answer that question, we need to, I need to tell you that Or I need to ask you whether the gene your name stand for genius, is that
we needs genius. So, South Korean actor was doing a TV show called Stars top recipe. And in this particular show, he would visit different outfits and they would, they would try different things at all. These e trees in a, in a mekinese coffee shop called Whiting coffee, there was cake. This little, this particular drink being served and it wasn't called Algona puffy back then is that when jungle who had it, he was reminded of the Korean
honeycomb honeycomb table. Fee, which is also, which is called tell gonna, that's the one that's condemned Ghana and he likened it to that and that's how dalgona coffee became
popular. This was aired in January 2020, and obviously by building code, it became it became massively viral on Tick-Tock and everybody started making their own dalgona coffee, which also has a small India connect again because a lot of people compare it to 50 week of your beat and coffee as a served in a lot of In places as well. The only difference being over there that there is milk. That is added to beaten coffee in India. In this case, it was whipped knew they were a coffee grounds
and sugar for straight. Yeah, so milk is the way that it's been. It's written. Now at least in this article is milk, is poured on top of the whipped takes rather than spooling, the whip, mix on top of the milk. So that is the difference between them Kona coffee. He as was shown on the show versus beaten coffee in India, but yes, the Kinect is absolutely spot-on. It is, they'll gonna coffee. You're right. The magnetic spin in my brain works again. You're on the right track?
Yes. Okay. This is a connect since that you since you gave me a connect, I'm going to hit back at you and give you a connect to connect per se. It's like a list little listeria. Let's just put it this way somewhere in half in between the following. Okay, are the names of chess pieces in Persian? Okay? Okay. Sir Buzz as Peary first X and Y. So I gave you four servoz as peel Furs. And then there is X and Y. I need you to tell me what X and Y are.
Just chess pieces, right? Yes, these are just pieces. Was it? Good guess. But no, little more common than that. Something you would know. You know this. But you don't know that this is this basically. Let's just put it this way. Okay, I guarantee you 150% that you have heard of X and Y. You've heard them together. And you bet you may have never made the connection. That this is water in the world of Chess. Yes, interesting. Okay, could you repeat the names again? Okay, the I lied.
Okay, I'll give you a clue as well as we go along here, right? The first one is servoz, servoz is basically Soldier. Infantrymen are born. I was also known as far as in Arabic is horse or night, okay? Peel or L feel, which is an Arabic, is elephant. Okay, first is counselor. I think what we would call a queen.
All right. Okay. Ought to be basically Minister. I remember, when I was a kid, my, when we used to play chess when my father taught me, Jesse used to call the Queen, always, you know, the minister because he They used to have their own Appalachians for the same.
So I'm guessing it's from this, what is missing, just think of what's missing and then try putting that into it and you may get the answer on the Dumas, we got the ruk, we got night, we got the queen, we miss the king and the bishop, we did mr. King and something which is value from the got something wrong in your countdown. So I go over that once again, please pause. You said infantry is night. You said horse ready, buddy? Yes, that's also 90s didn.
T say elephant. Yes, I did say 11th, so that would be the route, right? I don't know. Ha ha. Ha, wait, the castle is that. Is it not talking? Just, keep keep thinking, keep thinking Okay. I just I thought the Dual after the bishop and the King. Okay, let's assume that it's not the bishop. So what would it be as in what in your list? It's not the bishop is already covered. Let's just assume that the bishop is Brooke. Is the one that I'm probably
missing a man. Yes, yes, yes, okay, so what was up with other with other two that you have missing right now? It is being called Pastor investment of just me. Who can the king try that in Persian? Yeah, I do speak short version and Farsi speaker. I know it is sha. Which is where Sher Shah Mahmud Checkmate comes from. Yes, yes. Okay. You're very close. So it's Shadow King. Am I you have to give me both. You can't give me 10. I know the rock is called a myth
and the king is called shh. It's a child with you want to get tensed? No. Do you want close to with your joke even though how horrible? And I apologize to everyone for the horrible joke. But you are close to. The actual answer. Is it, actually somebody named Richard and on famous person, whose name is Chad. Oh my God, I don't know this way. I am just thinking of my classmates who were called because I had a bunch of them when I was attending. Yeah.
I don't think they are the ones that you are referring to here. No, let me just put it this way again, at last crew. Before I give you the answer is that let's just put together, put the what are the? What are the missing ones? What are the missing? Chess pieces, ruk the rook and the King. Okay? And what is it? What are your names? Were the same. I don't know UND. I don't know because I'm thinking camel would, I don't know. I have literally no other name for it then. No.
Okay, wait, wait, wait. Hold on. Sha something sharp Shah. Jahan makes any sense. You're going to kill yourself. Oh man, I'm away. Oh yeah, that's that's not new at all, every episode No, I don't. You give up this land and give you the answer yet. Just give it to ya, okay? So King in Arabic is Shah as you said and the rook in Arabic is Brooke. It's Shahrukh.
Oh my God, come on. So sorry Andrew basically means king and Rook interesting interesting is that though the name is it the same or Jesus sound similar Noah but I think it's the same because the pronounce is the Spanish, the same. Everything is same Shahrukh. Khan srk for for those non-indian, you know, listeners of our podcast, we do have them, you know, I'm not just seeing things so on so forth. Shahrukh, Khan is probably the
biggest actor in the world. In terms of fan following, his name is Shahrukh Khan Khan, which is a very popular spot on surname and shy and Rook apparently mean King and Rook. So he's named after not one, but two chess pieces. So he has a head and unfair Advantage from the get-go because I'd only reason I ask is because I thought that Rook was face will have to probably fact check this let me get it. In, Persian Rock means, rook and Shar.
Me and King means Shah. So, I was like, oh, this is the religion question. I literally just say I will. It sounds similar even if it is in the example and I was just waiting for you to go from each other. Then you went to Shah Jahan and I was like, okay, he's going to go down. The alphabet K is now an academy that is really strange. Okay. Funny. But I love even if nothing else. A coincidence. That's a cute piece, please if nothing else The Coincidence. So we are on to my question.
Look at what was designed by three. Italian designers pirogue at-6 are poly me and Franco theodoro. In 1968, when they observed, what their workers were doing during their break time during the smoke breaks and their break times, what did these designers come up with you name? Those designers again, please the Names, perhaps, won't give the truth important help, but I'll but I will give you the names again. Anyways, pierrot Gotti sis are poorly me and Frank with, you do Paolini.
Why am I thinking Ferrari for some reason? No, it isn't nothing to do with Ferrari. Nothing, nothing even close to that long. Okay, let me bring you a bit closer. This is for the used to work for a company called The Sonata and this was a furniture company. So, they did they watched what people were doing during their lunch. Breaks smoking brakes. So cigar breaks or lunch breaks, the design something. Whatever makes yes, is the coffee table. Please don't tell me.
It's the coffee table. No, it is not the coffee table. Now, So is it an ashtray did the designs of mustache me? I'm just being silly. Now, it's what is 1960s? We are talking about. So something a lot more you would associated with the 60s and more model than an ashtray. Okay, need a cute, you'll have to give you a clue. Okay, let me see if this helps the original Version of this. Now, at the normal or at the common name for it is what I'm
looking for. The original product, was called sacko sacko sacko season product was called Circle, The observed people, doing something, during their secret tricks of lunch, breaks coffee, break cigarette, whatever breaks, and in a furniture company. So they were working in a van Company. They observe their workers doing something, something during the breaks, and they realize that this is a potential idea that they should create. Nope, no idea Socko, okay. Let me add a little bit more.
The target user was, the lacks hippie community, and their non-conformist household. Okay, non-conformist household. Wait, is this a beanbag? You are absolutely right. It is a beanbag this community hippies. Absolutely nothing basically. They saw specifically they saw their workers a resting on bags of Styrofoam so styrofoam which would be used to pack other Furniture. Perhaps, yes they would see these bags which are filled with
styrofoam. They were their staff would be sitting on those bags during the coffee and cigarette breaks. That's how the idea for the beanbag came to them and they call it psycho, which is in Italian, I believe, sack obviously. Okay. Okay, the shape was all confession here that when you said sacko, I had heard in a circle and I was thinking so when you said non-conformist in Furniture, people lounging around. I was thinking of something that they would sit in and be sucked into.
No no, no. Psycho but it's a KO sa cc0 cycle, which was the first ever been made by the companies or not. And that's how be Max came to be. Yeah, but it's not unpopular opinion, but I never liked black bean bags. Oh, not even as a child. No, I'm not even a fan of beanbags. I like something with a lot of support, whether it's a my mattress or whether it's my sofa. I like a lot of support beanbags. Seems so Of control, you know, you can't control your posture, you can control anything.
I know this is outing myself as a control freak but still, I just don't enjoy them and sometimes when you get in them especially after a meal, it's very difficult to get out. And this point I would like to tell our listeners that I do not want to do these questions. This stupid question that I asked at the end, it is very, it's controlling nature that makes me do this. And I am blinking twice for
anybody to come here. Making support cast you know that that meant no wonder, no wonder we need is the genius in this podcast, all right. I had the glamour quotient which is true, which is true idea, is the definitely the better looking one. I have no, I have a face, which is made for what casting it. We'll see that that that that's updating the old adage know. He has a face made for radio. Wait for radio, and the voice made for newspapers. Yes. Okay. Okay. So that was a fun one.
And that one note that yes that is I believe end of our episode. Yes, that's the end of our episode but before I do my, you know, wind up speed they are, do you have a question please? No time asking this in a very relaxed choice. I am in no way controlling him. There we go. Yes, you are susceptible to hypnotism, in which case you are people around you, maybe just asking you any questions by now,
okay? If there was such an outfit from Bollywood which would be considered the most expensive ever, As was the case in the black dress, which iconic outfit. Would that be? And this is my question for next week is. Yes, so everybody avoid it. Send us your answers if you're interested. Let's see if you can go as low as I did here. So thank you. General are the Thea kashyap will be back to cover our asses for whatever we have blabbed during this episode. That's all from me. Have a great day guys. Thank you so much. Bye. And here's the fact check for
the episode. The movie Shane was released in 1953 and was obviously not inspired by your Jimbo which was released in 1961. However, the Jimbo has inspired countless other films, including A Fistful of Dollars Django incident at blood pass Star Wars The Last Jedi and the last episode of the Animated Series Samurai, Jack In chaturanga the earliest form of Chess which originated in India. The peace now known as Bishop was Al fill meaning elephant in
modern times. However, Hindi speakers associate elephant to the chest piece of rook and camel to the chest piece of Bishop. The word Rook has multiple meanings in the context of Chess, it means Chariot. It also might refer to the mythological bird from Italian literature, famously featured in 1001 One Nights, helping Sinbad the Sailor Escape. The third meaning for Brooke is face Shahrukh. The name means the face of a king or could also refer to the bird and that's all for the factor.
