The second of a three-part program featuring noted musical theater historian, Robert Kimball discussing iconic songwriter Cole Porter’s 1930s shows. Porter’s best-known show from this period is the namesake for this podcast, ANYTHING GOES. Kimball provides insight into Porter's creative process while working on such musicals as NYMPH ERRANT, JUBILEE, and RED, HOT AND BLUE. Also, Kimball talks about several of Porter’s most famous collaborations with 30’s superstars like Ethel Merman, Fred Astaire and Gertrude Lawrence.   Featured songs: “The Physician,” “I Get A Kick Out Of You,” “You’re The Top,” “Begin The Beguine,” “Just One Of Those Things,” “Down In The Depths.”   Originally produced and broadcast in 1982.
