Episode description

Your anti-aging code includes:

Botox - This muscle relaxer allows your doctor to help your facial muscles contract less intensely, preventing the fabric of your skin from folding into creases that ultimately become permanent. Botox dosage is measured in units. Your Botox injector will help determine the best dose for your face. Though Botox has 5 different FDA-approved clones in the US, each prepared in various dilutions, don't get overwhelmed by brand calculations. I often advise my clients to begin with baby doses.

HA filler - This is another medication injected into facial areas where you've lost fat pads due to aging, leading to hollows and skin laxity, for instance, around the mouth or under the eyes. While the dose of HA is commonly calculated by the vial it comes in, I disagree with this approach. Considering there are over 21 FDA approved fillers in the US, each with different concentrations, I prefer to calculate by the number of milligrams used. This ensures you don’t appear overfilled and distorted.
