Episode 6: Ælfrædic Era (865-900)

Longer episode, but this is the era to know about, the reign that would affect everything. We talk about the things King Ælfræd has done in his reign and what their effects were, including military reform and the standardization of pre-Norman English (or Ænglisc).

Episode 5: Literature and Poetry

Not necessarily an episode for history, more of one for literature and poetic appreciation of pre-Norman poetry, including The Wanderer and Cædmon's Hymn.

Episode 4: 716-825

This is a short episode talking about the Mercian Supremecy, which ended in 825, but is not clear exactly when it started.

Episode 3: 793-954

We'll be talking about the Great Heathen Army and the establishment of the Danelaw, and the rise of the House of Wessex.

Episode 2: 500-793

We'll be talking about a brief overview of the years 500-793 in Anglo-Saxon history, but not going into much depth with Alfred the Great (he'll get his own episode later).

Episode 1: 409-500

We cover the English Isles from 409-500, plus a little bit of Roman history and the establishment of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms.
