Yes, I know we've been trying to like work it out timing live with you ladies for quite some time, so we can have some fun, yes, because we don't really come to New York a lot. No, we don't. Like the last time we came, we had our live show out here and we haven't been back since. And I was what in July, Yeah, that summer time. Yeah, that was in summer time with July. So we was like, yeah, we

definitely need to make sure we collab with you. So, so I want to talk about this right because we've watched you guys just basically be able to get to a point where you're able to do really well pie casting, and that's something a lot of people are striving to ur. You know, we had these conversations like how you got started, But then now it's like quit your job and make I could tell look at y'all, just briefly tell us the story of how poor minds got out of You

guys are friends in real life and sometimes that's hard too. Yeah, but absolutely, but just tell us how you guys got started, because I know people are listening and thinking about their own positions. Not absolutely, she did say that right, talking about always like we really be like an open book with our at least is about our friendship and like Tom that we weren't getting along and everything. I mean it is. It really is hard to have a business

with your friends. So I moved to Atlanta in twenty sixteen from Houston, and I was there for a year. I moved with another girl. We were roommates. E didn't end up working out. We broke our leaves, and then me and Lake would still talk every day, but we

had made it. In twenty fifteen, we were working at this strip club to get the bars in them, and we would just keep in touch, and I was like, girl, you need to move to Atlanta because we both have degrees and mass communications and we both kind of wanted to get into radio and entertainment, but we didn't really

know what we wanted to do. So she moved out here and people would just be like, y'all need to have a shower or something because y'all chemistry and y'all dynamic is just so crazy, like y'all need to be on camera. So we had this idea to do wind Down Wednesday, Yeah, which is like a thirty mini show that we started in my house and we would just talk about like hot topic, prety stuff. So then we stopped doing that and we had the ideas to turn

into a podcast because Mandy positions like one of her friends. Yeah, because we were actually our YouTube channel. We were doing everything on that. We were doing makeup challenges. Yeah, nobody was watching anything well right, like other things were had like ten views, and wind Down it was getting like

a hundred. We were like the right. So it was like after that and we were like, Okay, people are actually starting to watch this, they're looking forward to it, and um, Mandy was like, hey, y'all need to get into podcasting. This is where it's sad if y'all really want to, you know, monetize it. Properly. So we linked up with DJ Scream in Atlanta. We changed the name. He was like wandow on Wednesday, it's too generic. Come

up with something else. We came up with poor Minds and we started doing the radio out there with him every Wednesday. So he just gave us like an hour slot to be on there with him talking and it started to grow even more and more. So I don't know, it's just like we just I don't want to say we lucked up because we worked very hard. And the thing about it is we were so consistent, like we

were dropping every week when nobody was watching. We Sometimes people feel like they'll start something and immediately it should take off, and realize that it could be years yea of just being consistent because even with service, like we're eight years in and people be like, oh, I see you on a new show. I'm like new a podcast. I was like Angela left the breakfast club to do this. Like used to have to explain to people what a podcast was. Right first started doing right maybe told us

we didn't. Yeah, we didn't know what it was. When we start a part, we were like what is that? We weren't making no money until we got with eighty five, got with eighty five, so this one we really started making money. But I remember we got our first aid trick. We were working with this company. I forgot what it was came, but we got our first aid trick. It was for ninety seven dollars and you couldnot listen. SR y'all busted it down the middle. The CID life is good. Okay.

I know that you guys have said this before, but you know, as far as sharing parts of your life, right, at a certain point, you're like, you know what, I don't have to share everything because that's also a conversation. People think that on social media or on a podcast, you have to tell everybody everything, right, So how you determined like what is to be kept private and not be put out there like that. I think that that has just come with age and mature because when we

first started the podcast, I was twenty six. Now I'm thirty one, and I just feel like, yeah, now I'm just very much like I don't need people to know everything about me. But when I look back on some of the older episodes, i'd been cringing sometimes used to yeah, you know, it's for me. I would overshare but I would get like really drunk, like me and me would be like black out drunk, don't remember how he got home? Yeah,

And then I would go back and watch the episode. Yeah, we got to some point where it was so bad we stopped drinking on the show for a while because we were getting so drunk it was. But I will say I feel like for me personally, um, I still share parts of my life. I don't get too in detail like I used too because I feel like with my dating life with my family, Like at that time, the show wasn't big, so it was easy for me to talk about a friend, or talk about a boyfriend

or talk about kissed me off. Now it's different. So if I'm dating somebody, you know, they didn't ask to be talked about on Poor Minds. I have a hundred thousand people like, oh, or is that you? Oh? That's who you know? Much more you are you know, So it's like now, I just we don't use names as much like we used to have characters. Everybody we had like rapper Band when I was back bad. That was the key we talking in the dressing room. We gave

everybody names, so nobody knew who. Yeah, I still like. But the thing about our listeners is they're so like that they were finding out who they were. The point the internet B to FBI to c I a digging theyby digging in the info, they'd be figuring it out. Did you ever get like, did anybody ever get mad at you for talking about them? Like I know you was talking about me? No, No, that's never happened to me.

But I definitely had a situation where I went on somebody else's show and I was like, and it was crazy because we had literally broke up the night before, and I was like, I'm saying, ain't. I was like, well, you know, guys intimidated when they find out, you know, they do the poor minds y'all gonna talk about me because sometimes for guys, it does make them feel a little bit nervous. Yeah, I think it's either or I

think they either be excited talking. I can't wait until I see the episode you with Yeah you thought you ain't? You know, So sometimes it's like you being excited. But sometimes I think, like, like I said, I'll be trying to protect people if I had to tell a guy many times like I wasn't talking about you the right, and I ain't the only guy I dealt with that

got shot relaxed, right. And the other good thing is you could talk about stuff and then let them see it, like if you like, hen't eat my pussy right, let them talk on the show about the right word like too week excited, like nigga, I'm not even about to talk about you. And they also trying to act like they don't listen. But you know, they do the Clear

every episode they on it, they subscribed and everything. Now, so recently you did a detox, right, yes, Okay, so tell me how because I'm I've done a dtox like a couple of times and I'm trying to do it again, but it just hasn't been lining up for me the stars right now for her birthday. Yeah, I think it's so busy right now with everything else I have going on. It's hard when you're not even to be like stable someplace. So how was that for you? I liked it a lot.

But I always try to do detoxics periodically because I just feel like you're always good to like cleanse your body of like the toxins and the liquor and all of that stuff, but also to I have really wanted to lose weight because I'm short, and I just feel like when I'll be gaining it too much weight, I'll be looking real roly poly and my face gets really yeah, and then I'll be having real bad back rolls too. Oh yeah. So I was just like, I need to lose some weight because last year I was like the

heaviest I have ever been. Yeah, we both were. That's that money. That's that money, and I haven't dreamed yet each each other that because that's an honest thing, right. Some people would say, well, we don't want to talk about other women's bodies, but friends who see each other all the time where you're like, girl, we gotta do something. No, we've been telling Yeah, we definitely be telling each other. But I mean, I talked about this on the show.

I have body this morphia really bad. So a lot of times I'm harder on myself and Dre'll be like, okay, Legs, you can do a little one too, but you're being extreme look good. Like, So I think we understand how to say it to each other because she's not like okay, Legs, you getting fat right or no, but like she'll be like, Okay, legs like, we gotta get it back wet, we need to we need to go together. It was good. I

need it for How long did I do? It was twenty one day and I wasn't she worked about day. I was interwerming it fast and like I was the one I like and it worked out for you so good? Different it weren't out. I lost six skin glowing? How do you that work in the bathroom though? Like doing doing a detox? Because when I did mine, they told me not to have sex. Yeah, I was fasten from six you did, That's why you wasn't really fast? Did

you manage the bad? Definitely? Saying that when the toxins are coming out of your body, you're not supposed to really, Yeah, I didn't know. Oh okay, so masturbation is fine. Well, you know, I ain't gonna be to know that you're not supposed to have that six. And this was the first time that I actually like didn't have six while I was the toxic. Okay, y'all. Do you think because sometimes people say you can focus better when you're not having sex, I think that, yeah, because it's been since

last year and I still can't focus. Well, I think I need to do. Yeah, you know, I'm When I was in my twenties, sex used to distract me just because I used to be like all into my men. I was like my man, my man, my man. And now it's like man, yes, it's like but I feel like now the men are you know the guy that I deal with. It's not like it's not a distraction, you know what I'm saying, Like our time is our time. But when I got to go to work or when I have to do X y Z, it's not a problem.

So it's not a distraction. I think it depends on who you're dating. That's only sex with the wrong person. Yes, that's when it gets distracting, toxic shit, Yeah for sure. Yes. I remember dating a guy. We would get to an argument and I just straight up when it go to work, because this is when I was way younger. Yeah, like it would be like four o'clock and I still be at home, like trying to get things right. Man, told what you'a man? And heaven used to be the word.

I found it out one time when I was I used to work at the club. I found out my dude had cheated on me. Y'all. I was at work. I was working out. I was like, you gotta go home sick. I was at working. I could tell my boyfriend was cheating on me because he kept calling me. He never did, but he kept calling, like to check and I was still there, Tommy, and I don't answer. I'm trying him to take a nap. And then he caught back an hour later like hey, if you call me, hey,

what you're doing? And I was like, let me just I just left work. So when I got home, he had kept calling my job and I wasn't there. So I think he caught on because it took me like maybe like forty five minutes to get home on the train. And I came home and he was carrying the sheets, no bag or nothing to the laundromat because I didn't have a watch engineer at the time, and he was carrying this together. He so kind of we weren't supposed to, but he just didn't leave. That was the only person

I ever like kind of had staying with me. It was for two months, and so he was just taking the sheets down the stairs, just holding them in his arms, and I was like, what are you doing. He's like, I fell asleep. I was sweating real bad. You would sweating real bad. Don't even watching that, you gonna remind

Niga never watched nothing. And I was like, how you know he was carried it in his hands, that I was coming home, Oh my god, trying to harry up clean all right now, I want to ask you some questions, because you know how they say that automatically, when you meet a guy, you know what it is, right, if you would sleep with him or not, or if you would categorize him as okay, he would be good just to kick it with, but I wouldn't really take him serious,

or maybe he's relationship material or never, it wouldn't happen. Do you think that's a true thing, that when you meet a guy you automatically know. I used to think that. I don't think that no more though, so I don't talk to some people where I was like shocked, my damn, So lad this happen. I think for me, I am, I'm a leo. I'm all about that passion like I've always been. Like, if it's the end of the first day and we're not making out with each other all

over each other, you're not the man for me. So I had a recent situation. I'm just like, but I felt like all those relationships it was like so much passion, but when it ended, it would end so bad, and I was like, Okay, maybe I need to take a different approach. So, like I've recently been like dating a guy and I'm like taking things super slow. And it's like when you like really take your time and get to know somebody, you really have time to decide, you

know what. I like this about them. I don't like this about them. So for me, I'm still kind of on the fence about it because this is really my first time taking my time because I do not like, well, I ain't got the love time now, Like I'm trying to get to it. I need to see that we're supposed to be on vacation. I love. Yeah, So when you first met him, what was your I thought like, how did you ctagorize him? Um, it's crazy because when we first met, like I looked a mess. I felt

like I looked a mess. But I just remember he was talking to someone and I was like, oh man, he has really like nice manners, Like I like the

way he was talking to the person. And I was like, Okay, he's cool and then he started talking to me and I was like, oh god, and I was kind of being rude and kind of like, but when we went on our first date and I really sat down and talk to him, I was like, Okay, he's very intelligent, you know, Like I wouldn't necessarily say he's my type as far as just the type of person he is, but I'm like, I need something different because I go

for the same type of guys. So it's like I do like him, Like, we have an amazing time together, so I like the fact that it's slowly growing. So I'm like, you know, we'll see, We'll see cha sweech it up. Like I feel like, if you're trying the same thing all the time and he's not working out, you ought to try something. But I have a toxic X and he be haunting me and calling me girl. So I'm trying to change my way and he knows it right, he know, he know he got me down bad.

That's the bad part about yeah, you know when I got you in a little choke called yeah yeah, But they get so mad when you get out of it finally because yea yeah, oh yeah. And I'm like I'm like there, like and I think that like he knows it like I know it, like and it's outside of like the new guy. It's just like sometimes I I will say, I still do this. Sometimes I forget who I am and I am just like stop letting these

niggas playing your face. And I went through a lot of trying to let a man validate me and who I am. And just because this person doesn't value you doesn't mean you're not a good woman. He doesn't have the final say so on who you are. So I was getting lost in feeling like, man, I'm not good enough. I'm not bringing this to the table. I'm not doing this, I'm not making him feel good. I'm not being his piece. And it's like, so he needs to be my pile,

I'm saying. And it's not even like so because I do care about him and I want I want him to be happy. I want him to find happiness. But for me, it's just like it's okay to value myself and sometimes you just have to walk away, right And yeah, all of that, like because I think sometimes guys also like you to feel like, yeah, you know, doing enough, because that's because sometimes I'll make us want to go far. Yeah, you have flash? What meant it so good that you

kept going back? You know what it was? It's because I really I feel like I met him when I was young, and we dealt with each other for a very long time, so it was kind of like I went from a girl to a woman with him. You know, like when he met me, I was still working in the club and then now I'm doing this, So he

saw me through all those stages of my life. So it's like he knew me inside and out, like he knows my family, you know, like Mama passed away last year and he was there for me, so a lot of that stuff was just um, it was comfortable, right, and he knows me inside and out. And I have a very complex personality, so it's like I have like my you know, in front of the camera's goofy, then I have my you know, my insecure side, then I

have my serious business side. It's like I'm a very complex person and he understood all those angles of me. So it was just comfortable. You know. I didn't have to introduce like, hey, this is what I do for a living and this is and both men are like what, well, I don't know if I want to it was just like, okay, let me go back to him. He sell the growth. Yeah, so I was like I felt like it was just easier, you know. But then it's just like at the same time,

it was like it's toxic. It's always easy to go back when you know, man, And as soon does a nigga piss me off the right like you know what, you gotta deal with. It's comfortable because as soon as a guy even look at me the wrong way, I'm like, I'm going back on. Yeah, huh, how did you like? Um, you know, I really just had to just be you know, it's a little I got my peky toe, he might grab my pink. But I feel like, you know, I side saying like if he started dating somebody else, and um,

I feel like the stuff that we've been through. And that's why I say it's really complicated because we had a like a period for like two years or we didn't talk and I was in love with a whole other man and that's a whole other story. So it's very like, so even if he did move on, I'm okay with that because I moved on already and I got really deep with somebody, like I was over him. I wasn't worried. I was in love. So it's like

we've already been through that. I've already seen what that looks like as far as me moving on and being in love and him moving on and being you know, whatever in love or whatever he had going on. So I'm okay with that, Like I'm really I've come to terms like this is not We're not each other's person, and that's okay. I see your girl, I could relate. Yeah, it's hard, it's hard. You think, um, do we really

wish our X as well? He'll knows people independ on independ on how we ended, because I feel like you end with some people on like some fuck you should like, yeah, I don't give a fuck what you got going on and what you're doing. And but I heard about him, like it really wasn't that bad. Like I definitely have people that I dated and it ended on good terms and we were cool, and I'm just like, okay, I'm happy to see you. Know. You gotta know a little boo,

you got a family, Like that's good. I mean, it's funny like when guys cheat on you and then you see them with a girl that they cheated on you with and you know what, but it never ends, never ends well, and you'll be watching. Man. I was about

to say sad. It was just so whether you're like, are you gonna say everything or you're gonna be careful with what you're gonna say it, girl, you can't do that and then not say one of them actually had a baby from the person that they were cheating on me with that They told me that I'm crazy and I need to go to therapy about that kept me and I'm just like, after taking me through hell and back because I didn't want to be with them anymore, and literally a year ago that's sorry whatever, a year

after had a baby and I'm like, you took me through all of that cast, all that pain, caused all that trauma because I was ready to walk away from something that wasn't healthy for me or my kids, and you ended up like that was like crazy pisces mal me and they gonna play mind game. I was like you and then tell you you crazy. He's like, you need to go to therapy because you have like literally

and I still damn should I go to therapy? Like he don't want us to go to the fact yeah, because if we would believe something, we would believe like you, we know you lying, But we're like, all right, well I didn't catch him and see him. That's long as I ain't walk in on that, I ain't see it, I don't happen. I'm gonna just walk away though, because I think it's happening, so before I walk into it. But not that was some crazy shit. I was like, wait,

you just had wait what? But the good thing is hindsight is twenty twenty, so it's like once you get and that's like where I'm at with my situation. I'm like, I'm looking back at my girl. You knew better, you knew better. But I can honestly sit here and say I have not been innocent either, Like I have done my dirt to him, you know what I'm saying. So it wasn't just like oh, all him, he did bad and this and that, because it would be times like he pissed me off and I would just be like,

all right, you pop up and I'm in combo. You know what I'm say. That's how I used to be. Yeah, So honestly, I'm not gonna lie. I felt like the past year that we were dealing with each other. He was like on his get back shit with me, right, He was like out for revenge, and I'm at this point I'm like, okay, you know, I put up the white flag. I thought we was right here, you know. And he was like, no, a bitch, like come back, wishaw as well when y'all break up for me. It's

a case back case scenario. Yeah. I'm not one of the hold grudges though, Like I won't forget, but I'll forgive and move on. So I think, as long as you're happy in your situation, yeah, do that. But I don't know if I necessarily wish them well, I just don't wish them back, right right, you just don't care. Yeah, And I used to be knowing stuff like, um, this one guy I knew his girlfriend was cheating on him, that like the new girl, but I didn't say anything.

I just like, it's not I'm not my business. And also coming from me, like you know what he had wanted to, he probably would have been like he have told you exactly right, but want to hear him when to hear it right, because it'll make it seem like I'm you know, But I just was like that's why you don't even know. I have a good time, have a good life, and you really wished him well because I feel like you were not meant for me, Like, yeah,

it wasn't because of you. It wasn't because you're being removed. I feel like God removes people like right, that's all good, And I don't like likely every person is not like everybody feels like, oh you fumbled me. Sometimes people really didn't fumble you. Y'all aren't meant to me. That's not the person. People are a reason in the season. Yes, your time has come and gone. I learned the lesson that I was supposed to learn from them with you

and let me go. Piece. Now do you think that you could train a man in the bedroom now at this age? No, No, I don't got time. I need you to come here ready to go because I get aggravated and I don't know if I want to. I tried for two years and I couldn't. Ye, he was a really function good man. Like if it was, he

to lie. Right. But there's some guy because that's also a case by case thing, right, because I feel like there's certain things that we like that other women may not like. So it is a little bit of a training period. Well yeah, because I feel like if a man knows what he's doing in bed already and I just couldn't tell him a little one to what he already know, you know. But versus HA to like really teach somebody like they have no idea what they're doing

at all. That's completely different between guiding and then yeah, you know, yes, if you just suck, I don't know if I can teach. I can't teach you how to stroll to how to get that spot. Some men just got like they know woman's body. Right. There's this one guy that I knew him and he was trying to get with me when I was younger. I was like

twenty one years old, um, and he tried. up like twenty years later and it wasn't worth it. But about multitasking, because sometimes in the bedroom it's hard, like you be wanting to do a lot of different things at one time, like are you good at um? Let's just say you're writing like you said, and you
