What's up? It slips every time answer the yee. I'm G. G. Maguire, I'm Stepanie Santiago. Chance to rapper, Yes, he's like, I think I'm chancing to rappers depending out how this goes. First of all, I wasn't share a chance is gonna come here with I seen him. Out of all, me and Stephanie were over here praying together that you did because people were taught priority for us when we saw you all know it. As soon as I stand down, I promise him We're only going to talk about music
and education. So it was gonna be a bunch of horny about sex. Well, I'm glad you know. I'm glad you know what? Question? How did you first learn about sex? Like? Did your parents have to talk with you? Or did you learn about it in school or from your friends? I feel like, oh no, that's such a wild ask question all right. I feel like most people learn about sex. You just talk about it with people your age or
somebody have like a horn or something. I don't know, you didn't have like to talk your parents never did. My parents never did that to me, But I didn't know. We didn't have a talk, not really, not my mom gave me the talk at the same time she gave my sister to talk. And she and I are a lot of years. She's like twenty two and I'm four. I got from my mom was I was already pregnant at fifteen, and she said, how are you pregnant when
you don't even know how to come yet? And I was like, I don't know, worry, Yeah, that didn't happen to me. Didn't say that to me, but yeah, I don't know. I feel like most people, most kids, I feel like, have these conversations at young ages and then they find out together they learn, and they like play games like they're gonna play house, They're gonna play doctor, Doctor, Chance, Doctor's Son. Now that you have this new show, it's like everything you say, it's like, now I'm not gonna lie.
I was. I was like, Tency Rappers is really like, you know, I feel like he wouldn't ever talk about stuff. But then we did shots together in Atlanta, and I was like, he's always trying to get me. Don't say that. That makes me sound like a predator. You just like to drink, all right, You're right, You're right, both of them sounds bad, super corny and remember what I do like is your creativity? Right? You have a new single, the h and the Lows. Yes, yes, he was on
the service. He had a moment. He was really good. He doesn't believe in monogamous relationships, so but we know you do. Yeah, he wants to do. He want wants like three wives. He said, Yeah, why you want three wives? You gotta ask him. Yeah, you gotta ask him about the explanation. Why wouldn't you want three wives? One wife is enough. I feel like he knows the answer to
this question. Damn it. But can you explain this single because it's not just your average like, Okay, I put out a song, but there's also something creative behind it. In the world of art, yeah, so yeah, I've been doing these uh they call him interdisciplinary art pieces where you collaborate with like a visual artist, a painter or sculptor or you know, designer, and you make new works
with therapis and your music together. And I've been filming them and making like short films and music videos out of it. So this newest piece, yeah, it was with Jolly Badass. We shot at UH and Venice being Ale at the at the Big World Arts Fair and uh, and then yeah, we released it at Art Basle in Switzerland, not Miami, but yeah, I like the Chicago Brooklyn link up. Yeah, but yeah, the song is fired. We've got to do
the television debut of it on the BT Awards day. Yeah, how has it been for you just being at home during all this time? Like and then now finally getting back out and yeah it was good. No, I feel like that's like the first big big event I feel like going on in a while. Like it's literally crowded in this room, like we're risking. I guess it's cool though, I love I love being here. It's also like this a big global black event, and I don't know, if you know, I like a lot of Black countries all
tuned into the b t or is. It's like the world of culture. So it's good to be able to have my art be on the main stage, to be able to showcase me and Joey and honest the photographer who deth works, Uh, you know, are on the worldwide stage. I like that you're doing that too, because I feel like collecting art is something that people have been paying a lot more attention too lately. Yeah, you know, and
I started collecting art like a few years ago. You gotta support the crazy investment to collecting art if you
can have the right art. But what I learned is that you buy things that unless you're trying to really be in it to like make money, you buy things and something to you, Yeah, and you can pass on something that you have a conversation with, you know, because I'm not like an art dealer, I just like exactly no, Yeah, I'm not an art collector by any means, but I collaborate with a lot of artists and uh, the world a like contemporary arts is very similar to the music industry,
and that like it's tough for artists and they have to like kind of move around through a lot of hurdles and a lot of people trying to commodify their art. So it's been cool working with artists as an independent artist, working with you know, Nick that's not necessarily at a gallery, you know what I'm saying, that are like independent in their own industry and just making new works and then having to be on the biggest stages. That Venice being l A and that the Museum of Contemporary Arts and
stuff like that has been done. How do you even come up with the idea like for that, what made you even decide to do that? It's about connection. I'm trying to connect with black folks globally, so I got art with people from Brazil, the Islands, the continent, Canada, Scotland, Australia. They're all black though, because we're everywhere everywhere. And you know, it was really dope that moment you had with Anita Baker. I have to say, first of all, I love the
Manita Baker. Everybody calls you on the concert and we didn't even know that you were involved in helping her. I remember when she had posted like don't download my music, don't stream it because I'm not getting anything from it, and then we see that you somehow stepped in. Man, it's crazy. So can I tell you the story real quick? So yes, I met I'mnita Baker here in Los Angeles
a couple of years ago. It was around the Grammys when I did the Grammys, and uh, there was like a pre party or something, and she noticed me and like came and sat high. I was with my mom's. She came in said high to me and my mom. Yo. It was crazy, but it was but I mean it's still need to baker. I was fanning out too. She followed me on I g she like comments like on pictures with my daughters and stuff like the kids again being all types stuff like very like supportive from this right,
I'm feeling so I feel like we family. So basically, she like you said. A couple of years back, she put up a tweet that was like, hey, these niggers are tweaking on me my labels, like giving all my white counterparts their masters back after a certain number of years. But I'm having all this like legally as I gotta go through they telling me I can't have ownership of my stuff. And so she said, I want everybody out
there to boycott my music. I want you to stream or buy another song until I get my master's back. And Twitter being Twitter, made a whole bunch of jokes about it, and they're like, I can't stop listening to me, so I gotta clean my house, all types of dumb sh So I like basically just made a tweet or
like tweet. So so I'm like, y'all, lamess, hell, this one of our icons is like a serious moment that you know that we could change the course or whatever, and I remember like yeah, and so it trended it that a little thing, and then I forgot about it. And then like two months ago, I was in Vegas.
I had a show with Dre's and then I heard she had a residency in Vegas, so me and my friends would go to the show, and in the middle of the show, she just stops the song and makes this announcement that she got her Master's back, and she's like, I want to thank Chance the rapper who's here tonight. I don't even know she knew I was there and like pointing me out or whatever. And so I felt this like moment of like imposter syndrome because this ship
blew up again. It's like all over the internet and people are like, damn Chance to have but how I can't believe he bought her masters back for or like you know, like I talked to late like I'm not even signed, I don't know no label nigger. So I'm like I felt imposish and drop. But my mom had
a conversation with me about her. She was basically saying like, you don't know how powerful your voice is until you use it, and you don't know what you could do that could influence or make somebody else feel or change somebody's life. Man, And I and I didn't know what I was I just felt like I was saying what was meant to be said. But yeah, I mean it's
it's a it's a crazy thing. I feel like we're in a moment of like everybody gaining consciousness and understanding that we deserve ownership, that we deserve the equity agency and how I should gets moved around. And so if we could come together and working any kind of way to connect with black folks globally, we can get further. I feel like you were said ahead of the curve too, like we all getting there. We have to be to you talking that from the beginning, you know, and you
were so young to think like that. Now everybody's ownership, ownership. Thank you, it's like all right, right, but it's unless you have to go. But we appreciate you for stopping. Yeah, yeah, what's up this slip Serverce. I'm Anti la Ye, I'm g g McGuire, and I'm Stephanie Santiago and I'm Syth Bailly and you are an l A resident now officially, h you know, what I am spending most of my time in l A. I still try to claim and land. I'm like, oh, I'm still by coastal, But to be honest,
I'm in and it's breaking out well for you. It seems like you know what it is. This next chapter was very scary. I have to admit, you know, jumping into it as a woman of a certain age. But I have to tell you, guys, you're you're never too old to dream. I've jumped right from reality TV or I still do a little bit reality TV. I'm sure you guts saw me on so that with Todd My Good, my Good Brands Bridges. Mike was like, I know, I didn't even know any of that was going on when
I was in the house. When I came out, it was so crazy because sorry, I was like, um, you know, tell him like we good, we good. I was like, wait, what what I talking about? I didn't even know it was everywhere. But anyway, it's been great. It's been amazing. I am doing movies, I am hosting. I actually have a movie out right now that is trending. It's called Stepmother. Ye on to be the Stepmother on Toby Also in
a all Black series called Tira Lake Dry, single black female. Yes, come on time, you know what's going on to the Street season two. I've been season two on All Black, So it's happening. It's happening. I feel very lucky and very blessed. But I've been doing the work. I've been playing the season the whole time. When you thought something like keeping up drawing no fruit, it is fruitiful right now. Okay, come on, I think I've got that. Real Housewives in Atlanta.
You did eleven season eleven long unforgettable men assistant season Suney. I think about where you started versus where you are now, even seeing like your daughter and how young she was and years when we started housewise and now she's twenty two years old. Yeah, how scarybody for you to say goodbye to that? Honestly it was. It was very scary because I had, you know, gotten comfortable and the platform
has been so good to me. The network has been good to me, and you know, I felt like I did a good job of just giving you guys me. Whether you thought I was the most entertaining or at least entertaining it, whatever, it was, Cynthia and I'm the same person that sitting on this couch right now. And I never feel like I felt like I sold my soul, I did anything that I didn't want to do. I
just gave you guys to me. So I appreciate the platform, and it actually made it easier for me to come out here to l A and transition into this next chapter. The Housewives made me famous. I was known in New York for modeling. No, I'm not gonna gonna have to get those flowers as well. You know. I was okay, okay, I was known, but I became a household name because of the real housews of be landing forbout him breakful.
I left that. You said that some people might have thought you were the most entertaining or the at least because I felt like I try not to compromise who I am and whether some people find that's not entertaining because sometimes they like people that are like bout about it, you know whatever. But I'm never gonna be like disrespectful.
I'm always like really careful about how I present myself because I never want to act out a certain way and some people think like, oh that's whack, that's boring, But that's Okay, I didn't have like I really tried to be transparent while I was on the show. I felt, you know, my relationship with my ex. I really gave you guys everything, But I just didn't want to walk away from this amazing experience, not comfortable with who I
was on the show You got. Let's stuff runs forever and forever, Okay, I don't want to watch it back in and look at myself and think, how could I've just been so horrible? Like I don't take joy and making other people miserable. I don't take joy in seeing other people, you know, go through bad time times like I just that's just not who I am. So I don't want to If that's not who I am, that's not who I need to act like I am on
on a show, like you know, a reality show. So now, one thing that people talked about a lot was when you were getting married and you were planning the wedding and you wanted this wedding, and Mike was like, why can't we just get married? Like do you have different thoughts on that now that you look back at it. Honestly, no, I don't, and you should this wondering because sometimes in retrospect, You're like, we could have just but I saw both sides.
Was the only thing that we were kind of hesitant about was we were still in the middle of COVID and we didn't know when it was ending, and everyone was like, oh, just do it next year when it's over, and it's just never end, like we're still in COVID. So part of it, though you can't telling this as we're all I hear living our best lives now. But I mean COVID ended up, you know, becoming a part of our lives, like our norm and it wasn't permanent.
So with that said, you know, my gut and my heart said, you know what, let's just put everything in place that we need to put in place to you know, be COVID. You know, it wasn't no changing that day it was and everybody was fine. It wasn't no changeing that day. You was not changing that day. You would changing twenty twenty perfect and that mantres We're not perfect, far from but we are perfect for each other. Now
what else is perfect for you? It's fashion? Right, said, can you talk about with us you have going on besides the acting? Well, I do, I would I would love to let you guys know that I just opened up a store in the Beverly Center. Hors by your hoodie out with me and I word on the plane
on the way here. Yes we have all you guys. Yeah, I'm excited that I opened up the store in the Beverly Center because you know, I am a black owned business I'm blafe woman, okay, and I support black owned businesses and it's difficult to get into a place like the Beverly Center. So to know it's it's a big traffick in there. And they didn't put my mom all the way down the hall by the bathroom where you came. Fime, I got Prime bro stateum couple down. Yeah, they did
on t right. So with that said, it feels good to to be able to to have a business alongside some of the bigger brands and names as as a black woman, as a black entrepreneur. So I'm there. It's a pop up initiative. We're there for six months, and I think it's very important for us black people. We are talking about the black culture, let's talk about supporting each other absolutely, because black owned businesses cannot survive without black support, Okay. I'm not saying you can. You have
to only buy black. Okay, go get your other and whatever you're telling that. Then I need to have you leave, Lord Baton, I need to come on down to see people. Just get your bad from seeing. Yes, because I know I just mentioned my hoodie, but I actually have a few pieces. You died, I I don't know. I got a little fanny that I love and it's gorgeous. I gotta I got a couple of shirts and um and I have a little clutch just brand ambassador, and I love my CPS. I wear pieces and I wrapped them
well respectfully. We gotta we gotta have you digging this bogerl alright, but before you do it, you gotta answer it. Okay, okay, all right, we don't know what you know what you're gonna get work up dislavor when I've done it all? Are you okay? She really? Yes, really freckled up? Okay, if I was an animal and to the mic, alright, and like if you were an animal, Oh my god with me, Oh my god. Okay, here we go. Yes, all right, you're ready for my maid? Yes? Why does
he ACTI shy is out? That's a good one. Feels like you've done that before. That was amazing. That was I heard at a time as to a boy. When I read that, question of mind was so we were closed. I thank you so much, Cynthia Billy. We had such a great time in years. Yeah, yes, that was so good. Yes, now that's a shape. No no, no, nobody's ever booked you. Okay, all you gotta do for you before? Yes, I make it happ They want you with that maiden call. We
need you. That's a moment. Slip service, Belly West slip Service. I'm Angela Yee, I'm g McGuire, I'm stepping in Santiago and I'm comedian Miss pat up there with the women looking the way I used to look when I was really young. Ye, beautiful, Say she got the whole squad. Yeah, I'd love to see it. Thank you, thank you. Somebody needs to help me. It's how to hell here my webs, Guys, I got so much water I'm running out in my back. You think I was in the pool, Hi, No, listen,
it's weight. How Ever here I thought it was gonna be cold in side, so I wore stuff like for air conditioning, but oh no, not with all the black folks. It was so hot yesterday. That's why my tittis on my chin today because I was sweating yesterday. So we're gonna are you better be leaving hanging out like mine because that when tittys go when I have my broth, but titty sweat running and it drops off a nip into my name, not like I gotam swimming pool in
my stomach. That's the only time somebody like me would be really happy to be small. Yeah, no, titty sweat, boy, i'making. It's where yeah as crack, Yes, yes, that's where it's called swamp ass. Yeah. Want to go down your back? Yeah, oh I'm swamp ass to I see you got a house. You're building a house. I had a house before building
the new house. To be building and tearing down the old house, I told him, Yeah, that's I sold my house in Indiana and I bought some land in um in Atlanta, and I'm just building a house for my whole family. I mean different congratulation. That's beautiful. I'm the generate contract because I love d I watch it. Really, I'm a type person. The whole house, the whole house. It's huge. Most like you're really gonna do that? I
said'm gonna do this, goddamn it. I don't have time between like boarding show hosting and the Miss Pat show and stand up and how do you jump up in the middle of the night reading architecture playing say this is what I want? This one. I found out how to damn assistant because fail correctly. So they helped out a lot. Yeah, I tell you want that helped out a whole lot. But I love d I y. So when I bought the land, I said, you know, I'm gonna build me a house and I'm gonna do it
all on my own because I love construct. I like actually, so I have a Brownstone in Brooklyn that I've been trying to get renovated. So I'm doing like a folk gut rehab. It's a lot. It is a lot, and I'm not a general contractor. But Mars went on the way from the Soulard tests, and I have never heard of a sword test. So I just stayed on TikTok learning a lot about construction. And you know, I have the Mispas Show, which I'm so thankful for. But the thing that I always want to do is an h
G TV show. That's my favorite channel. This is what I can put together. You have doing a pandemic. I did my whole basement over in the in the when I lived in Indiana, I go both for the house that was not this new house. There was a house I had in Indiana, and I got bored and I just told him, woke up and I put I put it all back together and better not look like you know how sometimes people do work themselves and it don't
look right. OK. I told it in one day. You seeing a lot of doing yourself, like just the average joe around the corner, and it comes out amazing. Watching about women, let me say something, can you curse on here? Yeah, let me say something about women. We would go to Facebook, We would go to what we go YouTube to learn how to suck big. You can do that same thing with a with d I Y. If you can go and want somebody to teach you how to suck dig, that same next video could be a bit to show
you how to use a hammer. So people just want to learn to go to videos. You're using the hammer, but now from YouTube. I read an article about it and Cosmopolitan magazine. I'm a marvel. I have to see it to know how to do I can't read ship, and they're gonna try to do it. I had that bach your Saturday where you get at first when you first shouted after I'm oh, I don't we just have conversation that I have your school. You didn't back no, no no. I remember the first time I tried it.
I beatter article on it, and then I asked my boyfriend at the time. I was like, I read this article. He was like, go ahead, try article you're waiting for gotta learned from trialing o row like trying. I don't want to do that. I come from watching porn with hate. He's like, you see what she's doing, you should do that. You don't want to. It's like I don't want nobody
in my bedroom. So I mean, and then you're not gonna be as good as a person who don't who owned the video, because the bitch is acting real good. They'd be pretending to be amateurs, like like you've seen you in a thousand of the videos, not your person. I don't want to do no poel. I don't want to dick. I just want to build some ship. I'm I mean, your mom's alive. Yeah, she's gonna say, man, you're busy, bitch watch TV. Yeah, if I asked my mom that, she probably will be like to make doo
it too. What she ain't gonna do, like to give homework okay, huh, we'd like to give homework on lip service. We want you to go home and second serve this day and just see if he gets like shocked and surprised. He might be really happy about it. I'm not gonna do that, ange league. He might want to suck me. I an't want to fuck you, howd our side. It's a hundred ten degrees in the lounl. I'll do it a November November be' fat. You ain't doing stuff to
each other like a mattening on the refrigerator. Probably happy, all right, So I'll get back to you and everybody. Yeah, I come on, and it works. Give your second day for Thanksgiving maybe Halloween, Yeah, Halloween, we should do that. I don't do that. I just give me chickfil like I want Checkfilate started frying dicks, I started sucking Miss pat. Thank you so much for coming when we um seeing. We can't wait to see you in November. Thank you. I can't worry about every every time I see you
as another level. I'm level. I'm trying. Thank you so much for thank you for the podcast, for having me. You know I love you. I love you too. Thank you. What's up in the slip service? I'm Angela, Ye, I'm Stepanie, I'm J. J. Maguire, I'm I'm J. Valentine as cousin, and like take your hair back. At the teend of the crime and years and just to be cleared, Jay Valentine was there with Tank when he did live service before. He was in the other room very worried and stressed
out what's wrong? And like I was not stressed. I was telling that Tank was fine with it, but Jay Valence I had an attitude with me. Afterward I ran into them take us, like how you doing. Jay Valentine was like, no, I like your cousin. But congratulations for you guys on the success of the song slow because it's like, yeah, it's been it's a number one song. Was the number almost added? That's the number one still no matter what the number one, number one, number one's
going crazy. Finally got my guy out of retirement. People have been asking for a long time, when is Jay coming back. Jay's back. How is it hanging up with somebody who's married? Ship? I got a class. I got a gang of married homeboys though, you know what I mean. I'm like, I'm the friend that all the wives trust. Okay, you know what, Yeah, because they just know, they just know how I am. They know my personality, Like I'm not on the bullshit, you know what I mean? Yeah,
Like these are my guys. I don't. I don't meddle with nobody business. I don't don't call me about no bullshit. And they know when they're with me, like all my homeboys, like we're on some cool ship. We're playing space, We're hoping we live in a good life. We're not. Don't know. You never try to hook him up with somebody gonna cheat. Took him up with somebody like I don't know what nobody else douse. He had never been like, yo, I got a girl for j everybody's trying to hook up
with Jake. Everybody is like this, where Ja Valentine that everybody's been looking for Jail. You're not not on the live service, but that Jay will be here And I say, I'm just a looking for you. And then Jay will not be here. I don't know how he does it. He's nervous somehow he ends up In'm not nervous, definitely not nervous. So what kind of women are you looking for? J Valentine? I like women with a personality, Like it's start there for me, Like I've known pretty women my
entire life. I grew up with a whole bunch of my cousins, my mom or my sisters, my aunties, you know what I mean. Like so, but having an actual personality, being able to pique my interest. If I can hang out with you for a couple of hours, I like you. I can't hang out with everybody for more than that's like me, I got people got on my nerves after about this was good? Thank calculated, I tell people talking about this on Twitter. Right, how for men, looks are
more important, but for women's security is more important. Now, your wife is beautiful, right, But do you think that if she ended up looking different or things changed, Like, what would you do? I mean, that's my partner. Yeah, Like I'm attractor to her energy, you know what I mean? Her looks are a plus? You know, tell me I can't admit when I first saw her I was like, what is that? You know what I mean? Wow? Like and that that was visual for me, you know what
I mean. And she was rare and I was like, oh my god, for that reason alone. But then in meeting her, I was like, You're not supposed to be like this, Like with everything you know that you have going for you on the exterior, are you supposed to carry it a certain way? Where I'm from. You know what I'm saying. That the D and B they if they're bad or they know they're bad, and they're gonna let you know they're bad, you know what I mean. But she was like him, so good to meet you.
What do you do you dance? Okay, that's a good song. You want to try to dance? Yea. Yes, it's it's that like you said, it's that spiritus has sold. It's that intelligence, you know, being able to carry that conversation. I'm a talker. My wife's a real talker, so I can do less talking when she's talking, you know what I mean. Like we we yet we got good balance, you know what I'm saying. I'm I'm the nice guy. And then she should have turned up, you know what
I'm saying. So while she's protecting him like baby, don't have to do that, like we you know. So it's a great balance. I'm attracted to our energy more than anything. All right, that's dope because the thing's right. Yeah, no, absolutely, you know what I mean, Like my wife is not. When I met my wife, she was maybe was like one nineteen, you know what I mean. And you know, if you you know, you know, how can you have babies and all these things and grown with the grown
woman way? And now she may be sitting around like always forty. But I'm like, yeah, okay, okay. I always say you don't know how a woman really looks, so's you can't say, yes, that's what she's gonna look like half the thirty Yeah about certain things because you know, women were always like talking about, oh I gotta lose this, I gotta do that. Like have y'all ever had a time when you were like, I feel a little insecure about taking my shirt off. I'm not the shirt off guy,
no problem. I lived my life a different way. I don't. But it's just the work you put in. Yeah, the results you get is the work that you put do you know? Okay, No, I ain't got all these tattoos and ship. Yeah, and they're gonna see these tattoos, you know what I mean. I think you gotta still be mindful of competing, right, right, because that's that's how it gets old, when you just get comfortable and feel like
I got it. Like I feel like every day somebody's in my wife's d MS, you know what I'm saying, showing us. I'm just feel like they showing or something. You know what I'm saying that they think that at something. But my job, I don't know. My job is to make sure that whatever is trying to compete against me, and I'm competing against it, right what I'm saying, Yeah, I'm working every day, I'm cardio everything, I'm lifting everything, shopping in my mind everything. I tell my w you're beautiful,
you know that, right? You want to drink? All right? You know I'm offering her drink like you beautiful? You know I'm not not even I don't know if y'all see it, even posting like them dudes getting there and do like the penitentiary workouts. I'm like that. I asked, and I said, did you sneak the phone into the sail? She is brainy. I kept trying to tell my wife doing the pan thing, but I said, you need to let me start only fans and work out on only. You know what I'm saying, you get this back. You
know what I'm saying, just working out. You know they's back I'm missed out on. So she wouldn't let me do it. So you know that's what it is. You'll make an easy million on it. Now. How Valentine, how is it for you being back now on the road doing shows and everything? What's that I'm not doing that? My nuts? First of all, you're back in the music as Yeah, yeah, I mean it's a show. I mean
I popped out at Versus last night. I mean, you know it's gonna They're gonna, They're gonna be moments right for me, Like because for me, my process is different, right, Like I absolutely want to get there and I want to move into that space, but I need to move into it the way it's comfortable for my life. Like I am an active father like me and my kids they know who I am, you know what I mean? Like we don't have no Hey, hey, who's this guy that just ain't been here for three fold months? He
he learned strings in France for two years. Not me, not me, like you know what I mean. So for me, it's still an adjustment of that. Like I came to versus last night from my son's first high school basketball game, like I literally was, I didn't have a leather outfit on at the at the at the basketball game, I switched. I remixed the outfit. But my life is just different. I'm going to make sure I'm at my daughter jymnastics class. That was a legendary versus. Who would you say? One?
First part is uh samu and p one that one okay? And then I think I think Mario took that's crazy because you know, people was trying to say and everybody say it's on the radio that Mario didn't have enough songs to song. I don't think it was a song, said it was the voice and that's what you said.
What happened? And I said that would happen. I think what happens is like people kind of after after the third number of dance moves, it was like I was like, all right, okay, And I think Mario felt more like an R and B moment, felt more like an R and B concept. So you know, I knew that would happen. I knew O Marian had more records, but I knew it would come down to the Delibu I wish. I wish O Marian would have went more into the cheek Code,
which is the B two K records. But I just felt like I felt like I feel like just me personally as because aside from us being in this business writing some of those records, I'm still a fan. Yeah, I look at everything from this from the like I asked people, like, what, okay, how much does it cost? I'll buy it so I can have my opinion about it. If I buy that ship, I'm gonna tell you I
didn't like it, right. So, from from that standpoint, I just wish he would have went to the cheet Code, brought that beef Teak moment out they did those records, Like yeah, man, like we gotta get to it. If I'm ever successful enough to have a versus, I am going to play and write and sing every record I wrote for anything on this planet. Don't let me. Don't let me get the channel. It's not cheating if it's you,
it's your record, your work. And and yes, he just didn't do records and you and you saw the results of them not taking your early days on the road. I'm sure you had some wild things happen. So what advice did you get to these young up and coming it is when they're going on the road to protect themselves when it comes to like women on the road and making sure that you know, bringing people in your room,
making sure you don't get no charges and stuff. We'll tell you, Like, the times are so different now because you know, back when I was coming up, you know, there was no social media, and there wasn't payment for cloud. There wasn't a bad connective, you know what I mean, And so they saw their home girls, Yeah, they just just said, you know what I'm saying, or maybe we'll
be a thing in that city, you know. But now everything is so global and there's such a bad connected to whatever cloud you're able to build for yourself, no matter how you build it, good or bad, and people are willing to take that good or bad, bad cloud. And so in protecting yourself, like you just gotta be you gotta be smart, you gotta you gotta measure the word. It's bringing this girl back to my room that I don't know who I've never met, never talked to half drunk.
Is this smart are who keeps looking at our phones scrolling like okay, one or two things. She's either set me up or videotaping to plan whatever, Like you gotta measure that is it worth? It is the juice work, the squeeze. Juice worth the squeeze right and nine and nine nine and a half times out of ten or even ten times, it's not. It's not not. Go to sleep, young fellow, Go to sleep, Go to sleep, Go to sleep,
Go to sleep. And it's also worth out to have good people around you too, to make sure you know what I grew. My first road manager was O G. Muslim out of Philadelphia, brother Window Mohammed, and as I was the star, he ran the show. We're not doing that, young boll This is what we're gonna do. This is what we're gonna do. Like I want to go to the clubs to No, we're not going to the club. We're gonna grab a few people that you know, look like good people, and we're gonna set up our own
situation and we're gonna control the environment. Because I was just talking about it, like I feel like they young guys won't have woods anymore. It's a product of O. G Is not being here, yeah, and young guys feeling
like coming yeah, not receiving, not receiving, not receiving the information. Alright, Well, taking Ja Valentine, we appreciate you've been so busy everywhere, you know, And congratulations on the r B Money podcast, which I've been enjoying listening to all of these stories because I am very interested in the business of music and what goes on behind the scenes too, so I love hearing these stories first hand from people. And you guys are the best ones I think to get them,
just because you've been on both sides. And so congratulations on that. Thank you. Now, when y'all come back in the studio and we sit down, we're really gonna get into Ja Valentine, you want to come solo next time? And then taking me in the other room like no, no, that's gonna happen. I'm the manager. Now, that's my manager. Talk to my manager. I'm pulling up. It's always a pleasure. Thank you. What's have been slip service. I'm Auntie Lagie, I'm Stephanie, I'm g G. Maguire, I'm Queen nas wife.
Look at your hair together. I feel like we had separately did Yeah, yeah, you showed it. I went on here. You said that, like, No, I just remember no, no, I just said you showed you like, but this is cute to see, um sitting down at the BT Awards. What are some of the activities you've been doing since you've been getting prepared. I've just been a studio. I haven't been doing nothing. Just work, work, work, just working
and student. I'm trying to finish my album. I just came here to you know, I'm just net work and stuff. I really don't do a lot of um even I know, I don't like that. You always say that too. I remember you had a birthday party and you were like, I don't even really I don't do that. Yeah, I don't do clas. It feels like you're more social. I think she's more. I think she's I'm definitely more social to him. Really, I don't know why I think that
about you. Yeah, no, I'm definitely more social with him. It's just that, Um, I don't know. She was a lot more social. I don't know. Maybe from the lip service interview, Oh from ah, he was he was more freaky and I was more reserved. Yeah, I think that I'm bold though, I say what's on my mom? So yeah, now you've got a lot of lett ship happening for you right now. Yes, first of all, let's just give it up for you. Going on tour with Mary J. Blige. Yeah, yeah,
that is a big deal to me. That is surreal. It is I'm really honored to be on her tour. Um, she's a legend. The first song I ever song was hers, So yeah, I'm honest. All right, and Clarence, are you going to be on the road too? And what's the plan? Do you stay home? Do you go out? I'm probably gonna make some of the dates, like some of them, not all of them, but I'm trying to get there and be there as much as possible. It's sex before performing,
can you do? Does that help your shower? Doesn't make you? Um, sex before performing before? You don't know if we ever did that. We probably have. We have like right before you saw about right before back all right, maybe I gotta go do this show. And then he's like, all right, I just need a quickie. Oh when he just asked for a quick this morning. Quick We'll be a long guy. Let's get one that real quick. But already No, it's good.
But yeah, I mean not right before the show. I don't think that because you know, I'm getting messed up now. Boxes before they fight, they're like, no sex. Yeah, I mean yeah, it usually takes a lot out of me. So it's like not for real, and that's like take a lots that energy. I need to reserve my energy. Don't trying. You said it takes a lot out of you. You know what that means? Thank you out. Yeah we broke.
That's a lot of like extra you know, exercise work out, but not a quick He's not like that steel he said, you know. And then I see Big Sean, Um he's having hits fun his stady. So that's exciting music. Y'all have to they come fromed it, I think. So okay, yeah, I think so, I don't know. I don't want to confirmed, but yeah, if they are, it's gonna be a beautiful baby. I mean truthfully, I remember when I commented a long time ago under the Shade Room. I think I said
something like I was pregnancy upon them. But I was just playing around and I got dragged for it. Why I don't know. I didn't know what happened to them before, you know, anything, any situations. But I was just being funny. But now you don't look, how was that? Nothing bad? They like to drag me but everything, But I feel like I felt like just hard work overcomes all of that, right, because no matter what, people could do that, but then you're out here showing improving. Yeah, you gotta show them
that you're still doing it. You can't ever stop and hold back from like who you are just because people are, you know, because you wants to get a lot of support too, And I just anything else I tried to. I'm trying to like look at that more than the hate, you know what I'm saying. It's just hard because sometimes to say, hey, I mean the hate will stick out because you don't want to see it. Whatever you don't want to see sticks out more so. But then you're like, well, bam,
seeing me on Mary's tour? Yeah, see me on Mary's tour now? Now, Clarence, how his Father's Day? It was good? It was good. I spent it with my son. Do you think that? Okay? So what did you do for him for Father's Day? Because people always act like Father's Day gets lost behind Mother's Day. I wasn't with him on father Day. I was here because he spent there, but he did get he didn't get compar some crystal. That's nice. They're like, what how you said that Swolorski
Crystal dunks? Okay, how do you know what to get Queen Naja as presidents is that it's so hard. I think it's way harder for her because like she's not in the material things. I can't just buy her jewelry. They thoughtful. It's like, yeah, like she means something right, Yeah, yeah, I mean gis are nice. I was appreciate shake them, but like I don't know, like it's just really hard because I'm a simple person. But I like gifts, but
I don't know, I like time more. Yeah, she enjoyed, like you thought out things more like yeah, yes, so like what'son thought out things? She's still like stuck on like the first her first birthday that we spent together, like you got me a horse and carriage and playing the whole date out, So that was like her favorite birthday. That's sweet. Yeah, I want another birthday broke too, So I really appreciate it for that You know, but I had to put into it. It was it was a
lot of thought. I mean, I appreciate every other birthday, but it seems like nowadays my birthdays be like just I'll be like, I'm gonna be on tour for my birthday. And last time I was working for my birthday, he surprised me. So it was no, and this business, you're always going to be working on your birthday, on her birthday, so I don't even have a birthday anymore. But that's mad. But that's when you pop up. I loved it. I loved it. I showed you I'll be writing on nice
words in the card. Yeah it was a car, a car. Yeah, I like that to use that a card. I'm not on your head. You was like a card. Yeah you get a card. You were like putting like that like a card where like special after her show, I happen like trying to be you don't forget carre no. But the car is good. I love that. I always wanted that card he got me. What was that girl? I saw that social media? Yeah, and that was dragging him
for it, but it's like it's what I want. I don't y'all have to pick and that mother like most people are dragging and even got that I don't care. It was a very specific and I and I dried a car more than the bands and more than like I promise you, whoever was hitting ain't never had nobody bout him a car, right, and y'all got it. But I love it. I love a little like like he said, I'm simple, so I don't really need you don't have to do the most. He really did not want to
give me that g right. I didn't. Yeah, but he wanted to get your a g wagon. But that's not about And also I feel like another reason why he liked because of social media because don't talk about it if he but it's what I wanted. I don't feel
what they want. You know. It's interesting because like before this, all it is is a testament to get it bigger and bigger because the more the bigger you get, the more that like percentage bys if if it was a thousand people saying bad things, but now it's a hundred thousand because a billion people don't. So that's all it is. But I feel like you can't not live your life the way that you have been, like you've always been really transparent, you know, but to protect your own peace,
sometimes you do have to just disappear. Yeah I think I did that. Yeah we have. We've been staying this and on YouTube and stuff. So yeah, and that's just to protect your own peace, you know. I mean, we're gonna get back on though, I've got because people. We're gonna do it like a little rebrand, right, still rebrand. Yeah, so what's the Probably had a lot of people that our families hand on name was the Royal family. But
I think we're just gonna rebrand. It is like Queen and Clarance clans Queen because people know what is our names and I feel like when I'm in interviews like this, it's harder to remember, like what well that it's easier to just look up our names. And I want to also make it more. I don't want people to expect for our kids to be on there because I want to protect it a little bit more getting older. Yeah, and if I just want them that, you know, I don't want to like where the kids that because what
a family channel do you expect that? But with the couple's channel, you know, you expect a little bit more mature content. And if the kids popping. That's so annoying what people be asking about other people kids? Why do you care? Are y'all friends? Where you are? Y'all crazy? Yeah? The smartest thing. Alright. So we're rebranding. When is that coming back out? When is that coming out? Probably when we get back maybe like next month. Get on it
mean just something the new little spicy photo shoot. Okay, it's sexy. Yeah yeah, alright, well listen guys there saying we gotta wrap. But I appreciate you for always coming through and showing us love. Appreciate Yeah. Queen and Clarence are Clarence and Queen. I mean I don't know, he's that ladieship like Queen better Okay, cute? See QUC sound better than C and Q? Yeah yeah yeah yeah, all right, thank you all. Congratulations on everything too. By the way,
it's a big deal. We're celebrating you, all right, Thank you, Thank you? What's up? This slips every time? Anti Lagie. I'm Gi McGuire, Pepany Santiago and I'm black and we are here at the BT Awards. You look a fly. Thank you always, Thank you guys. I love y'all so much, And you got a new single out can't See Me with a video MOMENTI alright, so let's talk about it for a secondly. So what's the theme of the video, because we're watching it, and um, you know what, just
like fun and like just flirty and sassy. That's even just like you know a little reflecting and whatnot. You feel good about the music. I heard that you're in a movie and they're gonna have your music in the movie. Three songs, right, three songs? Yes, yes, yes, I'm super excited about that. So the movie is called Secret Society too, and um, I think you're really gonna like my role. It was really fun like doing it. And then also to I'm working on a h a scripted another scripted
television show called music. Let's remember he was in Houston and he was playing this music in the sprinter running running back. I'm saying, glad that everybody is getting too experience because y'all don't know how she was just like not really nervous, but kind of apprehensive and like you know, kind of like should I or what y'all thing? And
her ship is really popping. So for you to be able to release it and having a movie, just know I'm so proud of you and I'm glad that you were able to let it out and really let the people hear it. Thank you so much. I'm excited and you just had a boxing match. Yeah, the fun it was a lot of fun. Yeah. I feel like she was more like rustling me, really like trying to tackle me.
When did you have to um and your head conjure up every time you was throwing a punch where you're punching at Oh, he was going on in your head when you're throwing those punches. Are you're seeing somebody that you want to punch in the face? No, not at all. I just wanted to just like wearing blows I was training for you. Um, training was fun. I had to take my nails off, so that part wasn't fun, But overall it was like fun. Well, the nails is popping, girl,
and like I couldn't wait to get my claws. Do you feel like you enjoy boxing, like you would still do it as even as a workout type of thing. Yeah, for sure. It's definitely a workout. Like seriously, it's no joke boxing. There's no joke boxing training. The cardio is sick. They had to jumping, roping ship not jumping wrong like sprinting and doing all that with the weights. A lot
of ad workout workout workouts. It was. It was a lot, but I need for a quick second because remember when I did that reality show Real Fast, So I was like, let me take some back and just in case somebody trying to like swing on me or no I did. And then I also think it's good for self defense because you never know what can happen. It is like crazy outside right now. Yeah, it's crazy. Have you been taking any extra precautions just because things have been ever
since COVID, I feel like different. I mean no, not really. I still kind of like move the same. You know, I'd be like in and out, but for the most part, I'm just like chill. I can't go out too much, but I'm gonna start going out. I don't know. It's crazy when you come down to the streets, when you up in your house bubble, it's beautiful, like yeah, because going to stay in the bubble, everything is, everything's good. Every Like you've gotta go outside now because you got
me to promote um. No, like it makes me happy, you know what I mean? Because it's not like always just like the same stuff, you know what I mean. So it's just like a whole different venture to like show like my creative side. And I think that's the like ultimate goal and never to be boxed in. And then we send the news you gotta settlement, so that's
good news. Though that's behind you guys, you know, and that's so congratulations on that because I know that's just how to to have to keep on dealing with that and go on the court. I mean anything with court is like stressful. I mean, nobody wants to go to court, not at all. So I'm just happy that everything, um in my life is elevating pretty much. I think that's just really what I'm concerned about. That's the goal. Yeah, like just to keep growing, keep going, keep glowing. You
know you're gonna do a whole album? I want to, Yeah you should. I feel like I need to put out like just a little bit more singles because I've for like a lot of people don't think I'm serious about it. So we'll see. Yeah, the music, so it take one and when it, dude, can't see me, get ship and if you want to see me, you can see me on TV and all that time, they're dead in us with you. But it was good. Thank you for always taking the time to come see. Of course
I couldn't wait to come over here. I was like, my nuts, No, I kissed the kids for us. What its lip service? I'm Anteloine, I'm g g McGuire, and I'm Stephanie Fantiago and I'm today. That's where like ten times we thought we had you buck do on lip service and it never worked out. I'm happy to be here with you, you reflecting on us. Yeah, okay, I can talk that ship though, so always so You've got so many viral moments, for sure. I don't even know
where to start. But what I like about you is it seems like you have a good sense of humor about every day. Yeah, because I mean, like away tell people like the game may make me. So it's like this is just a playground. Like I was already que in the neighborhood. I was already jack Quee's where I'm from. So it's like this just extra. You know, I'm saying, like the land of the frem and then you turn that into a song. We're gonna make a dollar of everything,
you know what I'm saying we're gonna get them. We did you have to get clearance for that because or is that like public? Yeah? We clear okay, just making sure and then you got keep sweating the new video. Yeah yeah, we got keep sweating the video. Big shout out to my o G. That's my dog. I love sweat,
you know what I'm saying. I know a lot of people thought we had like a lot of tension going on, but I wanted to put them in a video so people can know, like, man, that's my dog, that my O G. I would spect them, you know what I'm saying. That's fired. Well, Like we do have this little fishbow that we want to have you pick up question, random question, but you gotta answer it. What is the most toxic thing you have ever done? You got a whole song
that's a good one for you. Ship so many I didn't do so much ship when I used to be like that, you know what I'm saying. But I didn't near some ship, you know what I'm saying. I used to be like a bad liar, Like you know what I'm saying. I used to lie a lot, you know what I'm saying, Like live lie like your family, like just do bad ship like I go over here with this girl, lie about this ship, Lie a boy that go over here and get caught up, be on the blogs and ship like I was just bad, just mixing
it up. Well, it takes a lot to admit that you were. Yeah, because I'm on another level, I'm some grown man ship. So all that ship was fun. But and the yours to probably don't think about how you're gonna end up on the blogs. A lot of times you do things you don't think you're gonna get caught. No, because a lot of times like niggas don't be knowing females taking pictures either, that's what it be, the sneak photos. Yeah, yeah,
we were just talking about that. Its like, is it really worked it to be with a girl who's always like sneaking? It's really not worth it to play with somebody you love, period, it ain't It ain't work. Put yourself in a position like it ain't even work. Put yourself in a position to lose them if you really rock with him like that? So how do so how do you manage to get back what you mean to get back? You know, like when you break up, you get caught, you want the blogs, but then you managed
to get it back. When I used to do it like that, Um, I used to always be the type of nigga like to buy something, you know what I'm saying, Like, be the type of nigga to buy something just you know, say sorry and just you don't really mean it though, you know what I'm saying, like, really be sorry because a lot of times niggas don't be meaning that ship they're doing it. Just be the moment, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, I'm a woman. What works for us
is you taking accountability? Is that being honest about where you are wrong? Yeah, exactly, Like that's all we really want. That's all admit that you was on some ship and that you know it and you over exactly like and and that's really all to be really if you can take accountability like women respect niggas who could just tell it straight up? That's what I wanted to the details too. What if she's like, okay, so explain to me what happened.
I mean, you don't need to know everything that happens, right like you just gonna hurt. She's going to be too much. But I feel like if she needs that you kind of got to answer every question. I mean, I ain't gonna lize like if you want to know, Like me, I'm the type where it's like I'm gonna tell you, but I ain't been going into detail like she did this, she did that. I picked up at eight. Have you ever been cheated on? Yeah, I've been cheated on before. I felt bad. I felt terrible. Take her
back after that? No, I left forever because I can't handle that. I just couldn't imagine another nigga like doing what I do when you care about somebody, when a man cares about somebody, like yeah, yeah, but it's like, hell, now I know what you'd be doing. What are some things that Jacqueis does in the bedroom? Turn the funk up? If I love it? Like my lady be piped, I'm doing everything. I ain't home man, none, I want to everything. What do you mean by selling everything? Like you looking
at thinking everything on her? Everything everywhere here, everything, oh my god, everything else, everything I'm going next. We're doing all this. We're doing all this ship because I don't want to do with nobody else. Okay, fine, So what's the biggest thing you feel like you've ever done? Ship. I told you how I did everything freaks that ever did that. You was like, damn that I ever did ship. Yes, toys,
you surprised yourself. Surprised yourself like that, like when I when she first started like many that sounds like, but jim me, don't no more, niggah know it sounds like five girls. I've been there. I've been there, a little line, a little train. I had no five. I'm saying the girls, it's like the girls like everybody like in each other. And then I just just keep switching. Yeah, yeah, I like eating on each other. It's a train. I can
see everybody. I'm in the back somebody, Yeah, switching around. I was turned. I ain't gonna have my home, but recording that ship gonna, I'm positive the ship gone. Do you think that one on one is better? And that was now that you look back at it, like, because I'm in love, so it's like it's better. I just want really in love with somebody. I got a new girl, different girl, No districted. I just didn't know. Okay, how long you've been together. It's fresh, it's very fresh. Face.
We've been to each other. Okay, we know each lollop, little ship. So what makes her a good girl in the one? Just because like her heart, her spirit, You don't sounds so I could feel it like you know what I'm saying, just the way she feel about me. But I know it's real. You know what I'm saying. I know it ain't no cap on it like if I ain't have none. I feel like she's still fun with me, you know what I'm saying, because I just feel like it's the vibe like so tired, Like I
feel like it's like that. That's a beautifus fire. Yes, absolutely, How long y'all know each other before you decided that's my girl? Yeah? I know. Since Okay, I'm at her here at b T work. Yeah, shout out to the ship. This is like a like an anniversary. It's like a reunion anniversary for y'all. Love. It's some brand new fresh love ship. It feels a crazy so sweet. Is that gonna change it? But you write songs now to us?
My next I'm gonna be straight work. Not this album coming out with but the one after this future ship almost love, that's the future executive produced this album. Okay, so how did that even happen? I know, y'all had a song. The Future was in the studio one day that I was playing my album for bird Man, and then I left the studio. I've seen Pluto. I was like, bro, stunt over here, come how that stunner. He was like, well he came over that talk to him and then
Future like, bro, I could do queehole album. And so once he said that, we just got to work. You know. It was just like that easy basy like that because you know I'll be around the future a lot, you know, saying because you know how a line of work. So futually got the studio. You know, some people pull up. We always together, So he just wanted to do that for me. It's a blessing. No, that's my big broke. It's your girl, Like you can't hang around Future no more.
I just told you on licking everything on. Well, she ain't wearing booty, all of it. Everything. I love it here. Well, look, I hope you'll have a good time celebrating. I love the fact that you're back here. This is where y'are met to make sure you do some really special things. All right, Good to see you, Good to see you too. We appreciate you. What's up this lift service? I'm Anti la Ye, I'm g. G. MacGuire, I'm Stephanie Santiago. I'm Victorian Moni guy girl, Victor. Her money has been killing
it for so long. So I'm so happy I'm poud to see you here. Oh my god. I have to say thank you because you're literally the first person to support me ever. Yes, you are, because you took me around New York. You remember that, dude, and probably yes, what I was like at the very very beginning. So thank you so much for all the support. Always no, for real, She's so she was always so talented, and I think sometimes like people don't know what to do at a label, and you were trying to like figure out,
you know. But the good thing is with the talent that you have, you were able to work behind the scenes as well and really make some money. So let's do yes, not seriously, but now look at you like on these tours, you know, moving from like being a songwriting and being the artist you always knew you could be. Thank you. Yeah, yeah, I feel I feel blessed to be here. Um, you know, this is my first B two awards ever. Yeah, I've never been I've never performed
at an awards show. So I'm doing the pre show. It's like all the new things. So I'm just like, just look like a kid, thank you. And she has a baby, right, a girl and adorable thank you? Said y'all planning that, like, okay, let's have a kid nor quarantine. We was just born. Yeah, let's go to the room. Yeah, and a lot and then you popped up with your man and everything. I remember that too. Yes, yes, he was in my moment music video. Yeah, so we shot we shot it in South Africa. It was just like
obviously magical And so did you pick him for the video? No? Actually it was supposed to be someone else who I won't name, but he's he's another artist. Um, he like Flake last minute, so um my boyfriend actually was a trainer at the gym I was going to. My manager also went to that gym, and she was like, why don't you just ask him? I was like, absolutely not.
I don't want to like do a video with him and then see him in the gym after the video because the whole video is just Yeah, So she asked him because I was like, I'm not gonna go because the whole video I won't have anything to shoot. She asked him, and he said okay, and so then we shot it. It was like a three day shoot and it was really fun. You better thank your manager. So it was their chemistry beforehand while you were in the gym or not not at all. I didn't really have
any conversation with him. It was just like it was up because I was training under omar Um, which is a friend of his in the same gym, so it was very like brief conversation that even not even in South Africa. We left and we didn't speak and then and like we shot the video on December and January we started talking. So there was like a gap in between we left what the video shoot was. In the video shoot, there was no no action after the shots or anything. So I was like okay, so we liked it.
It just naturally evolved. So how did it happen? Yes, well, you know, he hit me on WhatsApp because we were exchanging. We were exchanging, yeah, because we were in South Africa first, so we were communicating on WhatsApp during the video shoot like okay, this is a set time or whatever. And then in January hit me up on What'sapp. And we were just like, Okay, let's try this, not knowing that
the world would shut down a couple of months late. Right, So then we kind of quarantined together and just like fell in love. Well that's good, amazing, the most amazing shape of your life at the same time, that's right. Yeah, So how does this inspire your music? And I'm writing now like having a baby, it's really it's really a balancing act. Honestly. I feel like when I'm at the studio and that rehearsals and stuff, my heart is in like two places. It's like, Okay, I want to be here.
I love doing this, but then my baby's at home. So I try to bring her with me um as much as I can. Um, but she's really hard. Yeah. Yeah. At the beginning it was a little bit harder because I was like, we're trying to write, and I'm like, I don't want to write about milk. That's what I'm thinking about though, So um, but you can be something about like a Bundy Yeah yeah, true, true, true. I
need to have you at the studio next time, yeah, right. Motivation. Yeah, So it wasn't discouraging for you after like your first deal didn't work out and then you had to regroup. Oh my god. There's so many moments where I felt like, I don't know, is this not my calling? I'm not supposed to be doing this. But there's always those little moments of good news. I'm like, no, it is. I keep going and and don't give up on your dreams.
I promised myself that I wouldn't get a nine to five or moved back home while I'm in l A. So I just songwriting was definitely a big help. I was stacking the money I was making from songwriting to like support myself on tours, paying for everything. I didn't have a manager at the time. I didn't have a label for a long time. Um, I'm still independent actually, So I can't believe that. Do you want to? Um, I don't know. I am so scarred by labels, you know.
So I'm like, but Puto has been yeah, yeah, put you and out of a distribution partner. That's been really amazing for me. So I just feel like the stars are kind of aligning without it, and you've been yeah, you've been killing it on you. But if somebody came with the right bag and the support and our partnership yeah, thing is about the terms. I want to own my masters, you know, I want I want to do it the right way. So I think when I have that leverage
to be able to do that, I'm right. I'm like, I think you have that leverage now though you proved like we've seen you onto our we've seen your performances. Thank you. I'm finding for yourself is great like you. I can't see why I couldn't have I always do it. Like back then, I was like, she about to blow up, she about to blow always she about to But you know, this time I'm here because I remember, I feel like T. I wanted to sign you back. Yes, I was running with T. I how I had a hook on nas.
I had a whole moment where I was just doing nothing but hooks because I was inspired by how Bruno Mars broke by doing a hook on Bob. So I was like, I'm just gonna do hooks. So I was focused on just hooks and I ended up being the hook girl for a while and then just ended up
writing more songs for you know, other artists. But like, you deserve it so much, and I'm happy we got a chance to catch because every time you know I follow you, I'd be liking every day shows, listening to the music, and so I just want to say I'm happy, I'm y. I love to State gradulation
