Today, we base our discussion on a critical examination of Alison Butler's influential thesis, positing that the Golden Dawn was a modern innovator using active visualization techniques and unmediated invocation methods. However, recent scholarship, particularly a study by Christopher A. Plaisance, challenges this view, suggesting these practices might not be as novel as once thought.
