Just me, Andy B, for another 2 Minute Video. Erm, just down here we've got a, this is a mobile 4G router and we've just bought one. And there's two little tiny silver things there. Erm, that's for the two aerials which are actually quite large, but So these 2 aerials are supposed to plug in and it makes the router work. We use 4G Internet at home 'cos we struggle with normal internet. Erm, so 4G works fantastic!
We've got a main router, which is brilliant, and we've bought this little baby one, with a battery pack, so that, erm, Jo can do her work from home 'cos she does lots of video calls, not interfere with the rest of the internet in the house. It also means if we're doing outside broadcasts for our daily prayers, we've got this little box, erm, take it with us, away we go. I sorted this out and it wasn't quite working. I was getting a bit frustrated. 'Oh is it, is it broken, is it defective?
I checked the aerials were all plugged in. Er, and then I started moving around the room. If you, if you're old enough to remember the old TV aerials, and you you hold it, and it's a bit left, and a bit right. And I was doing all that, and it wasn't working. And I was getting really frustrated. Er, and a bit irritated. Oh it's broken. I have to send it back. It's a real stress. And then I noticed these teeny ,tiny little aerials down here.
One of them was actually, slightly, a tiny bit unplugged, so actually I was only getting one aerial plugged in. The other one wasn't. And it struck me. How often with God are we actually not plugged into God? Do we, do we go to church? We've got one of our aerials plugged in, so we're actually turning up, but we're 50% the way there. But we're not really listening.
We're, we're on our phones, we're we're, we're reading the Bible, but it's not really a Bible, it's the bulletin 'cause we're bored and we kind of there but but we're not. We're sort of semi plugged in, but we're not. And it made me think about life. Are we reading our Bible every day? Are we praying to God? Prayer's brilliant, but prayer is a conversation and like any conversation, we need to be praying to God and listening to the God as well.
So we we spend as a time as often as we can. We have times when we listen to the Holy Spirit. We just sit 10 minutes just sitting, listening to the Holy Spirit and amazing stuff comes out. So my little thought for this two two minute vid is Are we fully plugged in? Or are we looking like we're plugged in? Are we are we sort of got the thing plugged in but not really or are we actually pushing it all the way home so it makes a good connection?
Are we making a good connection with God with the people in our church, in our families, our friends? Are we connecting with people at work? Are we are we just in our place of work with with with God in us, but we don't really want to show it so we don't really plug our aerial in fully we we we whisper that I love Jesus or are we actually really confident that God loves me. I'm I'm saving redeemed by the power of the cross. I'm not suggesting we say that in our work places.
But are we actually got that confidence within us? So my little 2 minute vid today. Let's make sure like my little aerials down here. Let's make sure we're actually fully plugged in. So we can listen to God. So we can speak to God so we can do all that he's asking us to do so let's get plugged in. Let's listen to God. Let's pray, read our Bible. That's all, Andy B.
