Hello and welcome to my podcast , andrea TLC , in which TLC stands for the Life Coach , which TLC stands for the Life Coach . I am your host , andrea , and thank you for joining me here on Andrea TLC . I hope that we all been practicing our one hour self care .
I know I have , and , yes , I had to double a day because I missed a day of doing my hour , but I did , I did go back and I did two hours . So I am holding myself accountable and I hope you are doing the same as well . We're going to hold each other accountable . Remember , we're doing this journey together , each other accountable .
Remember , we're doing this journey together . So , with that being said , I want to continue on doing the self care , and this one is about making ourself a priority . It's very essential for us to maintain balance and well-being . So I have a few ways that I'm that I want to talk about .
I have a few ways that I want to talk about how we can make ourselves a priority , okay . And so the first one I'm going to I'm going to talk about is setting boundaries . So if you've been following my podcast , you know that there's an episode where I do talk about setting boundaries . It is okay to say no ?
Okay , because if you don't set boundaries , other people will not and they will consistently step over a boundary . They will always step over a boundary because they can , and we don't want that . So it's okay to say no to people and activities that just drain your energy . Okay , setting a boundary .
What it does , it protects your time and your mental health Okay . So that's why it's very , very important to set these boundaries . You know that it's something that's going to just drain you to death . It's okay to say no , okay . The next one , of course again as we've been doing last week , is practicing self care .
Yes , we're going to dedicate each day to an activity that focuses on our mind , body and soul , whether that means meditation , exercise , doing a hobby that you like or love . Maybe you love it and it's fine . Whatever that means , even if it means just relaxing in a nice bath , you know we're going to take that time to focus on ourself . Me time Okay .
We're going to use this time to recharge and focus on just things that makes that brings us joy , relaxation and peace . That's all we're . Also , there's the nourishing of our bodies , so you know we have to eat healthy . Look , I'm guilty of that too , sometimes , or whatever , I like to go eat at the fast food restaurant or whatever .
I mean , that's fine to cheat , but we're not talking about that right now . We're talking about how to do it healthy in within ourself , okay . So , yes , again , I practice eating healthy , staying hydrated , and here's here's one that we don't really think about Getting enough sleep . That is very , very important . We have to get enough sleep .
Okay , I know , we're out here , we're working these jobs and you know , sometimes it's just it feels like we just we can't get enough rest . But we got to do it , we got to be . We have to find a way to just get enough sleep . Okay , and here's a big one . Here's a real , real big one .
You just can't do any of these things , in which I hope that you can at least do the one hour for yourself . Here's , here's here's a good one right here . Just surrounding yourself with positive people , being in a positive environment . Try to surround yourself with people who support you and uplift you , encourage you .
We just need that , okay , we just we need supportive , positive people in our life . Try to stay away from negativity and negative people , negative environment . That just ruins your self-esteem and drain your energy . We just we don't want that , we don't need it , we don't . We don't want that , we don't need it . We don't want that in our life .
We just really need to get away as far away as you can from that kind of stuff . We're only trying to be around positive people , people who love us and support us . Those are the people that you want to surround yourself with . At least do that . But I also want you to practice the rest of it .
You know the whole eating healthy and exercising and staying hydrated . Yes , we have to do all those things and yes , we have to set aside boundaries , but also we need to also set aside a time for ourself , and I gave a , I gave a time of one hour . If you go over that hour , that's . That's perfect .
If you can , if you can do more than an hour , perfect . If you can , if you can do more than an hour , just at least an hour , okay . And no , I'm going to say it again , I said it last week and I'm going to say it again If you own your job and you get an hour lunch , that does not count . I mean it . Y'all that don't count .
This has to be your hour . You're not at work , work . You are at your own leisure , at your , at your house . Maybe that hour is going to the store , and no , you can't go to the grocery store for an hour trying to pick out things that you need . No , you can go to the grocery store just to look around . You're not in a rush to do anything .
Just you know . Sometimes I like going to the grocery store and just you know , finding what's different , not necessarily because I have to be in and I have to be out . We're not doing that . We're going to do something for an hour that is just solely for us .
A person that likes to take a walk , you know , even if you just like to sit outside , and you know , on your porch or whatever it is that you do that you find peaceful . That's what I want you to do for that one hour . I want you to do that for one hour . I want you to surround yourself with positive people . I want you to stay hydrated , eat healthy .
Okay , I know that one might be a little shaky there , but we're going to try it , okay . So let's continue to make ourselves , you and me a priority . Until next time . Peace , love and light you .
