So when the practical life of the Christian is concerned, without a doubt the emphasis and throughout all scriptures is the development of the godly character in the Christian. We can see that from the Old Testament. Just in the second book of the Bible, the Book of Exodus, we found Jethro advising Moses to choose a group of men who were able, God- fearing, truthful not to be friends of dishonest gain, and to set them to solve minor cases.
Then you move toward what is the new Testament and once again you find Christ emphasizing what is the development of the Holy character, you find Paul instructing his disciple Timothy and in his second letter, in two he speaks to him that this which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, this instructs faithful men to be suitable so that they too can teach others. The reality is that what people hear about you people tend to remember, but
what people see is just what' s going to change it. We have to model what we preach, we have to model what we teach, and we can never forget that those who want to relate to God need to be characterized by Holiness. The word of God is called Holy. Jerusalem is called Holy. His prophets are called Saints. The children of God are called sanss because there is nothing God relates to that he does not want him to have the character of holiness.
