Although this theological term is not so popularly known, it is a reality and it is important to understand it. This concept describes, although in a different way, the state of both believers and unbelievers after death and before resurrection to eternal life or death. This is important, for by dying, physically, man does not cease to exist or to be conscious. Moreover, man was created as a living being and as such is not full if his soul is
separated from his body. But then what is the intermediate state in what it consists of. The scriptures affirm that for unbelievers the intermediate state is a place of temporary suffering where they expect shame and perpetual confusion or, in other words, resurrection of condemnation, although it does not mean the same. In Hebrew the word sun and in Greek Jades is used. In Revelation two thousand thirteen we see Hades giving up his dead before the judgment of the great white throne,
where they are judged according to their works. However, for the believer it is different, since the intermediate state implies being with the Lord, which implies joy and satisfaction. Although it is not the eternal State and although in one sense, the believer is not complete because he continues to await the day of the resurrection of his body. Being with the Lord is a delight.
