Quasimandos dad through the Bible, an analysis of the Bible, book by book, that will help you to grow spiritually. These studies were designed by Dr. J. Vernon Maggie. Join us in this fascinating journey through the Bible. It is a good habit to read and study the word of God. That is why we are grateful that you have taken time to be with us today through the Bible, the program where we know God in his word.
Our Bible tour continues. We are in John' s first, specifically in chapter two, in verses twenty- three to twenty- nine, where our Master, Samuel Montoya, will share with us the Bible' s teaching for today we know that studying God' s word bears fruit in our lives. It gives us a better and greater understanding of who God is and also helps us to see how much we need him. That is why we always encourage you to share with us the work that God is doing in your life through
Bible study. With us we love to hear and receive testimonies that confirm the work we do, such as this audio testimony we receive where a brother shares with us how studying with us the word of God has helped him in his personal life and ministry. Let us hear a brief testimony. My name is José Muñoz and of all the blessing that this program has been through the Brea
with Brother Montoya. We also heard it through radios and the computer. It has been a great blessing and I have taken your resources to have Bible studies. Every Thursday we have brothers, we have like seven brothers, we meet and study the word of God and these guides of the books of the brother presented through the Bible, are of great blessing. Or that they are well
explained and I also explain them to the brothers with whom we meet. And there we grow more in what is the word of the Lord making us stronger, for it is a spiritual and edifying food for our lives. So go ahead, brothers, God bless you. It is a small message for you to know that you have been and are still of great blessing. Mr Bendiga until soon you too can share your testimony with us. come to your feet. In the name of Jesus we pray amen with us, our teacher Samuel Montoya, guiding us and leading us in today' s Bible study, we continue today, friend, listener, traveling through this first epistle of the apostle John and we are in chapter two. Let' s start with verse 23 and here John tells us that he has already identified the antichrist for us now anti- Christ is someone who denies the father and son. And in verse 23 he clearly presents us that one cannot deny the one
without denying the other. Olleent friend, the deity of Christ is something essential for his salvation, because if he is not God made man who died on the Cross more than two thousand years ago, he cannot be his savior either. He could not even be his own savior, because none of us human beings can die for each other, but it was necessary for God to become
a man so that you and I could have redemption. Therefore, John says here in verse 23 of this chapter two that we are studying everyone who denies the son does not have the father either. The one who confesses the son also has the father. You can appreciate then, listener friend, that when you say you believe in God and deny the deity of Christ. He is not really believing in God, at least he does not believe in the God of the Bible. The God of the Bible is the one who sent his
son into the world to die for our sins. And he' s God. And since he is God, he alone was able to make a satisfactory sacrifice before God for our sins. If he had been something else, he himself would have been a sinner. That' s why it says here. In verse 23 we read again everyone who denies the son does not have the
father either. The one who confesses the son also has the father. Is it necessary that we emphasize that because of the great importance it has now Following later in this chapter we see that verse twenty- four begins by saying what you have heard from the beginning remain in you? So the principle that John mentions refers to the incarnation of Christ, and John tells them here what you have heard from the beginning, what you have heard about his incarnation, that
is found in the Gospel. According to St John, what you have heard about his life, what you have heard about his death, what you have heard about his resurrection, all that remains in you. And verse 24 goes on to say if what you have heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the son and father. It is essential, therefore, to have a living faith that rests on him who came to this earth more than two thousand years ago and John said and that verb was made flesh
and dwelt among us. The verb became flesh. How tremendous this is, my friend Ollente Goodbye. No one has ever seen him the only begotten son who is in the bosom of the father. He' s made him known. So we can know about God, because God has become man and that is the only way you and I can know about God. We know God, we can know him. And the important thing about this whole section here
is communion with the father and the son. The emphasis here is not on having a life in Christ through faith in him, but it is now having Communion and enjoying that communion. With him. Let us go ahead with verse twenty- five of this chapter two, from the apostle' s first epistle, John says, and this is the promise he made to us, eternal life. This verse is very important because it joins the next verse, the
twenty- six verse that tells you. I have written this about those who deceive you, that is, there were those who now began to deny the father and the son, began to deny that the Lord Jesus Christ was who he claimed to be. These were deceivers, some of them were teachers. John says that to which it is necessary to grasp, that from which it is necessary to grasp. This is what God promised to each of us eternal
life. If we place our trust in Christ and he says we don' t need to add anything to that, we don' t need to learn what Gnostics are teaching us. They claim to have a higher knowledge. They did know a little bit more than some other people and we fear hearing friend that today there is a great danger in this. There are many people who are attending Bible classes and there is then the danger of believing that one is a super saint superior to others. More. On one occasion, a woman
was talking to her pastor. She was a very good believer, by the way, and talked about this about attending Bible classes and it wasn’ t really very flattering what she said. I was attending some Bible classes that, by the way, are very good. We hope, Olleente friend, that you do not misunderstand us, as we are not criticizing them. But this lady was adopting an attitude of superiority over her husband, as if she knew more than he knew and that she was, in fact, the one who
could teach him. And the truth was, it wasn' t like that. What happened was that her husband could not attend so many of these Bible teaching classes in the same way that she could. But the attitude she had
adopted had some effect on the husband’ s life. So there is that danger, Ollente friend, the danger of Gnosticism in the present of professing to have a higher knowledge and perhaps a higher experience, and then one becomes a superior saint, one of those super saints who is none like you in your class. That is a very dangerous position, because when one comes to have a knowledge of Christ and begins to grow in grace and knowledge of him,
one has the same experience that John the Baptist had. John the Baptist said it is necessary that he grow, but that I wane and believe that if a man is honored, he himself. When you study God' s word and we' re going to have to make a personal confession to you here and we hope you won' t divulge it. We' re just saying it here on the radio, and we expect you to keep it family.
But one of the things that bothers us a little bit in our study of God’ s Word is that it does not reveal to us how much we know, but reveals to us how much we do not know and how deplorablely ignorant we are. And when we look back at our Ministry and see the things we are studying now in the Bible, we realize that we did not know as much as we thought we knew. Honestly speaking, friend, listener, we' ve found a lot of things we thought we knew before,
but we found out we didn' t know them at all. There is a vast field of knowledge today for the Son of God and it is up to us to come to know Christ through his word. We have to make this something serious and give it paramount importance in our lives. That is of the utmost importance and is what John is actually telling us in this chapter, he says I do not want you to become superior saints. I want you
to rest on these things. He is now entering an area where he will tell you very directly that if you know Christ as Savior, you must remain acidic about that. But now you are going to have fellowship with him and with the father, and you are going to have that communion with what those
of the most believers, verse 27 says. But the anointing that you received from him remains in you and you have no need for anyone to teach you, just as the anointing itself teaches you all things and is true and is not a lie. As she has taught you, abide in him. The important thing to notice here is that John is not saying that we do not
need teachers. We need the teachers. Otherwise, the apostle Paul, by the way, would be wrong in what he says in his epistle to the Ephesians when he declares that God has given to the Church certain men who have gifts, some to teach, others to be evangelists, others to be pastors who can administer to the people. He has given this to the Church to build up the body of believers, and we believe that this is important.
We all need to hear what good teachers have to say. The author of these Bible studies, Dr. J. Bernon Maggie, once shared that there were men of God who crossed their path and that some of them were responsible for their decision to enter to serve in the Ministry of the Word of God. He said that in the recording studio, where he prepared his programs, he had a photograph showing four men who were very influential in his life.
He said that one of them was named Joe Balle, who lived in the city of Nashville, Tennessee, who was a layman and that, when no one seemed to be interested in a young man who wanted to study to prepare for the Ministry, this man became interested and it was he who helped him get a job so he could go to college, who got him credit for going to school and seminary, and who followed his ministry and was part of the congregation that he pastored for three years, a wonderful man, for whom
Dr. Maggie thanked God. Next to him was Dr J s Arlen, who was one of those great preachers that one has the opportunity to listen to. Next to him was Dr Luis Sperry Chaffer, founder and first president of Dallas Theological Seminary. When Dr Maggie heard him preach, he got excited to dedicate himself to the Ministry and thought that was what he wanted to do. And in the end was one of the smartest people in the picture than Dr.
Maggie would have known, Dr. Albert Dudley. He was a man who had a lot of influence for Dr. Maggie will enter the Ministry and dedicate herself to being an expository preacher and not to getting up and preaching a little sermon. Nothing more. He said he thanked God for each of these men. So the Apostle John is not saying here that these are not essential. He is saying here that this is something important to God' s children.
Let us then read verse twenty- seven of chapter two, from the first epistle of the Apostle John, but the anointing he uttered did not others receive from him. We had seen this before when we were talking about the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the anointing of the Holy Spirit. That' s one of your Ministries. The Holy
Spirit is our Master. He can lead us to all truth. The Lord Jesus Christ, the Great Teacher, said in John fourteen twenty- six more, the comforter, the holy spirit to which the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and remind you of all that I have told you and in John sixteen three was said. But when the spirit of truth comes, he will lead you to all truth, to all that
you can contain and to all that I can contain. Well, the day should come when you and I can stand firm on our feet as to the word of God refers and give a reason, as the Apostle Peter says before everyone who demands your reason for the hope in you, do not us, we others must be able to do that. There is a great danger about this and we want to say it very carefully. We know that some people have been studying for thirty years in Bible classes, studying the Bible, but
they never get anywhere. They are the ones who make Bible teachers have a bad reputation. You can see them at Bible conferences. You can see them for many years and today they are in the same place they were a few years ago. It is like what Paul Timothy said, little women loaded with sin. They are always learning and can never come to the knowledge of the truth. They never seem to arrive. They always have their bible and they
' re always writing notes, but they never learn anything. On one occasion, a lady approached the preacher at a conference and asked him the same question she had asked him twenty- five years earlier at another conference. She had a notebook and she was pointing everything there. They always learn money, but it never came up. That is, one must reach a point where the spirit of God is our teacher. How many times when you study God’ s word, you ask God’ s spirit to teach and guide you.
And if you don' t understand the first time kneel down and tell Mr I don' t understand this, tell him I can' t understand what he' s saying. You can clear it up. I want this to be real and real. For me this is important and that is what John is saying here in verse twenty- seven, but the anointing that you received from him remains in you and you have no need for anyone to teach you.
Now there are certain things that God' s spirit can make real before you we read the second part of this verse twenty- seven, of chapter two, of the first epistle of the Apostle John, as well as the anointing itself. He teaches you all things and it is true and it is not a lie. And that is why the Lord Jesus Christ could say that false Christs and false prophets will rise and do great signs and wonders, so that they will deceive, if possible, even the elect. But it is
never possible to deceive the chosen. Antichrist will not deceive the chosen ones who have remained on earth at that time. Today the antichrist cannot deceive you The spirit of God can be your teacher and this is of great comfort. We must test every teacher we hear, ask the holy spirit to help you understand whether what we are saying here is God’ s truth. Let' s go now to Verse twenty- eight and now little children. Stay in him so that when he appears, we may have confidence, that at his coming
we may not turn away from him in shame. This is about Communion, we must repeat this. To remain in him is to live in communion with the Lord Jesus. That' s what he means. Stay in him wants to tell you to have communion with him. John says stay in him so that when he manifests, we may have confidence. There are many people who are talking about the Avenue of Christ and are excited about it, but,
by the way, it can be an embarrassing situation for them. If they have no confidence in him, they will be ashamed before him when he comes for what is good Because of their lives, the Lord Jesus Christ says, behold, I come soon and my reward with me to reward each one according to his work. They will be seeking their reward and some will find that they have none, as the apostle Paul says there in his first epistle to
the Corinthians. Chapter three, verse fifteen. If any man' s work is burned, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, though as well as by fire, some will be saved, as by fire his works will be consumed by fire because they have only been in him and litter. It is important to have a life that entrusts the Gospel and what John says here is the same as Peter had said, that a false doctrine and a false life go together, that a true doctrine and a true life
go together. From time to time one hears about some of the leaders of some cult and learns that this person has problems because he is guilty of adultery, because he is guilty of taking over money that does not belong to him or of doing this or that. Why? Because false doctrine carries a false
way of living, while true doctrine carries a true way of living. There is nothing that can affect your life, as much as the knowledge that you can be in the Presence of Christ and be accountable for what you have done. Each believer will stand before the Court of Christ and Paul says that it is necessary for all of us to appear before the Court of Christ so that each one will receive according to what he has done while in the body,
whether it is good or bad. We must emphasize that the matter of salvation is already settled, for we are still in His Presence as His children. And it' s not a matter of whether we' re saved or lost, but of whether or not we' re going to receive a reward, whether or not we' re going to receive recognition? Will there be some who will not receive either reward or recognition? Paul says knowing, for the
fear of the Lord we persuade men. The rapture of the Church is not going to be a very exciting event for many believers because of the kind of life they have lived here. Verse twenty- nine says if you know that he is righteous, know also that everyone who does righteousness is born of him. And that' s the final test. This is the test that is done to know whether something is genuine or not, and the result is accurate every time the word of God is applied. It' s the real test.
Indeed, what John is saying is that God’ s children are like the father. They go out like their father. If they don' t go out like their father, it' s because they' re not the father' s children. It' s that simple and here we' re going to stop. To hear, friend, listener, because in our time it is finished. For this day we will return God through our next program that God bless you richly. It was helpful for you today' s study. He wants to send us some comment on what he' s been hearing.
