Episode description

In today's episode with Christian Esguerra: The Philippine Capital Region and neighboring provinces are back to their strictest lockdown starting today, just a little over year into the COVID-19 pandemic. People are understandably worried and frustrated.  Is the Philippines back to where it started? Why did it come to this? Is the government losing control of this health crisis? How much of this has to do with incompetence, perhaps, from the very top?

He then talks to the Australian Ambassador to the Philippines as the envoy raises concern over China's 'destabilizing actions' in the South China Sea. Meanwhile, a Filipino scientist, who recently made history for reaching the Emden Deep, shares his journey and how he hopes it can help assert the Philippines' sovereign rights over its marine territories.
