Episode description

Leonard Shapiro is an Observational Teacher in Human Anatomy at the Department of Human Biology, University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Leonard joins me from sunny South Africa for the first of two podcasts that discuss the role of Art in Anatomy. In a wide-ranging conversation that touches on Leonard’s general interest in human anatomy and his passion for Frank Auerbach’s portraits. We also discuss in detail the Haptico-Visual Observation and Drawing technique that utilizes a multi-sensory approach to drawing anatomical structures.
