¶ Intro / Opening
Oh Lord , we got some excitement here in the parking lot this morning . When I pulled up , the fire truck was here , lights blaring . Luckily the sound was not on . I was the first one to pull up . It's parked a little bit further down than our main entrance
¶ Parking Lot Fire Truck Drama
. So I thought , well , maybe they're not here for us . And you know , I had all kinds of other thoughts going through my head that I won't share with you right now . But then my somebody finally comes who comes in and unlocks the door . He pulls up an employee , a team lead , and he goes up to the door and they get out of the truck and go up to him .
And then I rolled down my window and I can hear our alarm is going off in our building . I don't know what's happening . All right , I think it's all okay , though Whatever . Know what's happening ? All right , I think it's all okay , though , whatever . So I have look , trump , musk , trump , musk in this little titty fight .
Oh my gosh , this rokey-doke , ridiculous ass clownery . And then you got Steve Bannon out there calling for Trump to deport Elon . What in the world that was on the New Yorkork post this morning ?
¶ Trump-Musk Twitter Feud Reaction
Everybody needs to calm the f down . Okay , we americans are way bigger and stronger . We have more important things to do than worry about two rich guys having a little titty ass fight on social media . So just stop , just knock it off .
This is this is not gonna hurt us at all , okay , okay , well , anyway , I need to move on to something else , because it's just so dumb . It's dumb . I do have to read this one tweet from kat temp . I love it . She says thankfully we don't have more women in positions of power . Things might get too dramatic . You nailed it , kat temp . Good for you .
Yes , yes , I remember all the men out there talking about women being all emotional and can't do this and shouldn't be doing that . Well , looky here , all right , but we look , we've got other important things to do , to think about , and , uh , we really look . Come on , maybe jd vance can go in there and smooth things out .
I don't know who knows the word out . Nick Sorter put out that there's gonna be a phone call between the two today . Whatever Elon is , golly , he is just throwing a little titty fit , is he not ? I mean , goodness Elon , how old are you ? No wonder you're not married , no wonder no one will marry you . You're a child , goodness gracious .
Okay , moving on , I had a big old , long monologue in my head that I wanted to say but now it's all gone . That's why I'm a writer and not an orator . Is that a word ? I don't know if it's a word or not , but it is now .
Um , because I can take my time and write and come up with the words I want to say , and delete and retype and all that crap , okay , so , uh , I have a special request from Mr Sean's he wants to talk about .
He wants me to bring up D-Day , because it is june 6th , and it was june 6 , 1944 , in d-day , that the americans stormed the beaches of france to help liberate europe from the nazi germany okay , nazis , anyway . Um , and I had a bunch of things here that I wanted to read and go over . Wow , now it's all gone .
Hmm , all right , bear with me , bear with me , all right . So we all know D-Day , june 6 , 1944 . I am curious to see if we hear any of the mainstream media bring this up , I'm going to say no , they're going to all talk about Trump and Elon .
They're not going to bring up June 6 , 1944 , because you know , it was such a long time ago , everybody's probably forgotten it . That's why I thank you , mr Shons , for asking me to bring this up
¶ Remembering D-Day's Historical Significance
forgotten it . That's why thank you , mr shawns , for , uh , asking me to bring this up . All right , the largest land , sea and air invasion ever attempted was years in the making . World war ii in europe began with an invasion of poland by nazi germany in september 1939 .
I was just listening to a kennedy podcast and she and a bunch of other Fox News journalists went over to Poland and Auschwitz and all that , and if you can find it , I'll try to find it and put it out on um on X her video , her podcast about it and she tells about the visit and all the stuff that she saw and that you may not see or hear anywhere else
, and it was quite eye-opening . I mean , I've known about it too , but to keep hearing about it , we need to keep hearing about it , and it makes me want to spend my vacation to go over there and experience this and go through it , my goodness . So Britain and France declared war in response but could do little to help the Poles .
In the spring of 1940 , german leader Adolf Hitler staged successful invasions of Denmark , norway , belgium , holland and other nations . Now I'm just reading this from the WW2 org site . So it says D-Day , it's ddayorg , is what I'm reading this from .
Almost immediately , british leaders began envisioning ways to get back across the channel in an amphibious assault , eventually codenamed operation overlord that's the official name of it . By the way , d is for the actual . It's like a code name in the military , it's just d , day is a code name . There's also h hour for military code . All right , moving on .
I know I'm getting distracted here . I kind of want to . All right , you know what . I'm just going to read the whole damn thing . How about that ? So , understanding the threat such an invasion would pose , hitler began to build formidable defenses along the entire channel coast , which was called his at Atlantic Wall .
In 1941 , nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union , formerly a partner . Also , by the end of the year , the United States entered the war after Japan , an ally of Germany , attacked the American base at Pearl Harbor , hawaii . The entry of the US into the alliance meant the scope of the planned cross-channel invasion would grow Soon .
American forces began arriving in England to train for the invasion . At the Tehran Conference in November of 1943 , allied leaders decided to cross-channel invasion would occur in the spring of 1944 , with American General Dwight Eisenhower as Supreme Allied Commander of the multinational operation .
By the way , it was really supposed to be , it was scheduled for June 5th 1944 , but there were storms coming in and they decided to wait a day . In case you didn't know that , a little bit of information would be needed . What equipment each man had to carry and the essential question of how to keep this a secret from the enemy were debated and planned .
The final plan called for some 156,000 men to land on five beaches on the coast of Normandy the Americans at Utah and Omaha in the West , and the British and Canadians at Gold , juneau and Sword . They would be bolstered by parachute and glider landings and supported by some 5,000 ships and 11,000 airplanes . That is a lot .
Planners set the date for June 5th 1944 for the landings , but a storm that day meant it would be too cloudy to bombard German coastal defenses and too windy for men to disembark from landing craft .
British meteorologist James Stagg advised General Eisenhower of a temporary break in the weather clearer skies and lighter winds which would potentially allow invasion to commence 24 hours later . With his assault , naval and air commanders all saying go . Eisenhower gave the order . And wow , I mean you talk about kids being men that day , because that's what they were .
Hand over your heart and salute the American flag today , thank you , lord , and say a prayer Goodness gracious . And there was . So I wonder . Oh , also , I was curious to see how many of these veterans were still living today . And , by the way , the fire truck is gone . So I'm reading this from nationalww2museumorg here we go , you're going to find out Everyday .
Memories of World War II are disappearing
¶ The Few Remaining WWII Veterans
from living history . Yes , the men and women who fought and won this great conflict are now in their 90s and or older are now in their 90s and or older . According to US Department of Veteran Affairs statistics , only 66,143 of the 16.4 million Americans who served in World War II are alive as of 2020-24 . So there you go . Now you know .
So , yeah , tweet out a remembrance today , so the kids of the generation coming up will learn something . All right , I have a question of the day . All right , I guess I'll go along with the crowd today and just give me your thoughts on the whole Elon Trump thing . What do you give me ? Your take on it ? What do you think ? What me ?
Your thoughts on the whole Elon Trump thing ? What do you give me your take on it . What do you think ? What are your thoughts on it ?
¶ Question of the Day
I guess I'm just astounded by how a grown man like Elon Musk is behaving on Twitter . The only thing I fear is him taking the control back and not letting conservatives talk on Twitter again if he's going to become a never Trumper . I'm just astounded how grown men can act like this . I'm just astounded .
But you know , elon was never really a Republican or a conservative , not really , not no , and we all knew that . When this whole thing started with him , I was very leery . I'm like , oh boy , this is not going to end well and it hasn't . So anyway , uh , that's the question . Well , it's not really a question . Just give me your take on it .
And , um , if you have any stories of your grandparents or or family members or friends of friends that uh about D-Day and all that , share that too . Okay , I gotta go Love y'all . Thanks for listening . I'll be back on Monday , but the gent and I will be back on . We'll be here Sunday , uh , with our Brood Awakening podcast .
All right , gotta go Love you Bye .
