¶ Recommendations and Reflections on History
Oh , hello and good morning . It's Tuesday , but it feels like a Monday for me , after having a four-day weekend where we traveled to Ohio , where I was able to visit , with my sister and her girls , my nieces and my grandniece and go to a high school reunion . I have some mixed feelings about that , the high school reunion .
I don't know why I decided to go to this one , but I did and it was fun . It was fun , but I think I had romanticized a lot of it and you know , sometimes I wish that I had stayed there in West Portsmouth and stayed there and I don't know .
But it wasn't meant to be and I think if I had stayed there I would be in trouble today , if you know what I'm talking about . It would not been . It would . I would not have turned out well if I had stayed there in West Portsmouth , ohio .
My mentality at the time was not where it should have been , I suppose , wasn't mature , it wasn't developed and I would have made some stupid ass decisions , probably . So instead I joined the Navy and got out of town , still , made some stupid decisions , but eventually started making good ones . I did not mean to go off into that little rabbit hole .
What I wanted to talk to you . I have three topics . We'll get to those in a minute . I put them out on X , but I have two recommendations for you to watch . One of them is a Netflix documentary and it's called Into the Fire . Oh my gosh , I think it's called Into the Fire Something .
A daughter missing , something , daughter stores I don't know , I can't remember the exact title of it , but it's on Netflix .
It's like number three , it's a two-parter , and it's about this woman who gave up her daughter for adoption when she was like 16 , 17 years old and , uh , then , like several years later , 25 years later , something like that , she gets a letter from the adoption agency saying that her biological daughter has gone missing and they , in order to look for her , they
need some DNA From the biological mother . So this adoption agency tracked her down and come to find out . Oh my gosh , you just have to watch it . You have to watch it . This woman goes on a man , she goes on a mission , and the story that unfolds About the daughter , the adoptive family oh my gosh , you've got to watch it .
Okay now the second one is an older . It's not old . It's not an old movie , but it's been on Netflix for a long time and I keep , I kept skipping it over , skipping over , skipping over , skipping over it .
Well , last night I finally decided to watch it , and it's called Woman in Gold and it tells the story of a true life story of a woman who had to leave Austria when the Nazis took over and they , the Nazis , came in and took all the artwork off of this family's house , and so Austria had it all this time in their gallery , and so she fights to get the
artwork back , and it's a really great story . I think it has Ryan Reynolds in it I think that's him and it has Helen Mirren Absolutely wonderful .
Now , as I was watching this movie though , I remember seeing these scenes before , but in a different movie , so I can't remember where , what movie , I saw this in Maybe it was Schindler's List , perhaps I'm not sure , which makes me think I want to watch Schindler's List again , which I think I will because , oh my gosh , I watched Schindler's List when it first
came out , so I need to watch that again and I don't know what it is about that particular event in history , but I am just fascinated by that and I feel like I need to soak it up and learn all that I can . It just that particular event just draws me . I don't . I just , you know , with the Nazis and the Jewish people , it just I cannot believe .
I mean , I believe it , but it's just horrendous to believe that that actually happened and therefore I just feel like I need to learn all that I can about it . Now , if you another another thing I would recommend is another documentary is called Genocide and it is narrated by Elizabeth Taylor and Orson Welles .
Now , don't let the name Elizabeth Taylor throw you off . You know , you think Elizabeth Taylor , you think of Glitz and Glam , right ? Well , this is like I said . This is a documentary .
Elizabeth Taylor doesn't make an appearance , she just narrates some of it and Orson Welles narrates some of it , and they have actual footage of what these monsters did to the Jewish people . And I just sat there with my mouth hung open . I could not believe it .
They have actual footage where they filmed themselves doing this lining Jewish people up , stripped naked , lining them up in rows , walking out to this field to a ditch and then shooting them dead and they fall into this ditch . They showed it . You have to watch it . It's called genocide . You have to watch that documentary .
Oh my gosh , it is horrific what happened to these people , and people , I think , are forgetting forgetting just like they're forgetting-11 . Or the people talk about conspiracy theories . I , I can't . I can't with the conspiracy theories on 9-11 . I'm not there yet .
All right , I got a little off track there , but we are going to move on to my topics that I put out on x . Let's see . Let's go over here . Profile . I have three topics one , two , three , four topics . Excuse me , we're going to start with the rudest city in the US . Might not be where you think it is and it's from a survey .
Now , I have not read any of stories . I just plucked them out because I thought their headlines were fascinating , so we're going to read them together . When it comes to impolite places in the US , the panhandle is a is like a giant middle finger . The Big Apple has a reputation for rudeness , but it but is it really the most impolite city in the US ?
Not , according to a recent survey which found that Miami Florida well , that's not the panhandle takes the cake when it comes to having a discourteous populace Well , miami is not the panhandle , okay .
The study conducted by language learning platform Preply found the magic city was the rudest in 2024 , with locals ranking their fellow residents a whopping 9.88 out of 10 on the impudent scale . This was based on a variety of factors , including lack of awareness in public noises , in shared places , places and rudeness to service staff .
Don't be rude to the service staff , never do that . Coming in second and third were philadelphia and tampa , florida . Okay , uh , so if you're wow , you can go finish . Oh , there's a full list of 2024 . You can go read that . It's out on my x file if you would like to finish that .
Next up , women are using the 666 dating rule to find the perfect man , but is it hurting their chance at finding love ? Yes , women do not do this . This is ridiculous . People are just now discovering what dating profiles with 666 mean . No , it's not a satanic . Yes , it is , but could lead you to a devilish eligible bachelor .
The 666 rules refer to men who are six foot tall , have a six pack abs and make over six figures . Women , this is unrealistic . And two , you do not want this type of man because if he has six pack ab , he's going to be spending way too much at the gym and he loves him . I mean , there's nothing wrong with being fit . Okay , trust me , nothing .
You do want a healthy man , okay , but if he no , and a six-figure income ? Who has a six-figure income ? Am I missing something ? Am I missing something I don't want ? He's going to be working too hard . He's going to spend all of his time in the gym . He's self-centered and self-indulgent . If you ask me , you do not want that type of man .
No , I didn't even finish reading the article . So if you would like to , you know where it is .
¶ Sean Diddy Combs Arrested, Travel Benefits
Sean Diddy Combs arrested at NYC Hotel by Homeland Security . Can they do that ? I didn't know they could arrest people . I guess they can . Homeland Security amid sex trafficking investigation . Now , remember , several months ago his house was raided , so let's see what they have discovered .
Embattled rapper and hip-hop mogul Sean Diddy Combs was arrested at New York City Hotel Monday night amid a federal sex trafficking investigation . Officials said said the fallen star , 54 years old , voluntarily traveled to the big apple in anticipation of his arrest on federal charges stemming from a grand jury indictment .
According to prosecutors and sources , oh combs was photographed walking through the manhattan with his son , christian King Combs , earlier in the night , was taken into custody at the Park Hyatt , new York , by Homeland Security Investigations , which typically handles sex trafficking probes , the sources say , okay , well , let's get down to the meat and potatoes , shall we ?
It was not immediately clear Monday what charges Combs is facing . He is expected to be arraigned at manhattan federal court tuesday morning , that's this morning , at which point the indictment with the charges against him will be unsealed . So what , what did they do ? Did they arrest him and then he make bail and get out and he has to show up ?
I don't know why . I don't understand this . Or did they keep him overnight ? How does that work ? If anybody , please let me know , you can go finish reading that . I'm not going to get all into it . There's a long article , you can do that . Okay , the next one . Oh , here's a great story to end with the best excuse to take a vacation .
Study reveals how travel slows aging Really . I would like to know how this works . Uh-oh , I lost my spot . Let me go find it again because we need to read this story from the New York Post . All right , here we go . I knew there was a reason I like traveling , dying to book your next trip , then go ahead and live a little .
Traveling can delay the aging process and improve physical and mental health . A new study published in the journal of travel research found some might say this , some may say no . Some find it stressful to travel , so I would think if you were stressed , it would speed up the aging process . So let's continue on .
Researchers at edith co Cohen University in Australia conducted the study believed to be the first ever that applied the theory of entropy what I don't know . Entropy the general trend of the universe towards death and disorder to tourism . What did I just freaking read ? Let's read this again . Let's read this again .
Researchers at ECU in Australia conducted the study believed to be the first ever that applied the theory of entropy . E-n-t-r-o-p-y the general trend of the universe towards death and disorder to tourism . What in the world ? All right ? Aging as a process is irreversible . While it can't be stopped , it can be slowed down . Somebody says this . Phd person .
The team discovered that the positive physical and mental health benefits of traveling , such as exercising and relaxing , do help the body slow the signs of aging . Did you know that you can exercise and relax without going on vacation ? Did you know that you could do that , yes , without spending all kinds of money to go on vacation ?
This is frivolous , okay , not that there's anything wrong with traveling and the result can last much longer than your tan will . Trips that include active experiences like hiking or swimming encourage people to get moving and enjoy the many well-known benefits of exercise . You can hike and swim in your own hometown . Okay , I'm sorry , this is silly .
This is just silliness . You can go finish reading that . I'm not going to read anymore . I hope you've enjoyed this episode , but we do need a question of the day . Well , I don't know if this would be the question of the day . I am going to ask this question . I need your input .
My sister and I , we have birthdays in fall winter , whatever Hers is November , mine's December , and we are looking to go somewhere together and celebrate our birthday Now . She lives in Ohio , I live in Alabama . Neither of us have a lot of a ton of money , so what could we do where we could meet halfway ?
Do you have any suggestions on something to do that would be economical but fun , that we could meet halfway , where we don't have to travel far distances ? So that's one thing , but let's go on to the question of the day . Oh , my gosh , one more thing before we get to the question of the day .
I'm so sorry , I'm gonna be on keith's at the mic show on friday his live stream on friday on his youtube channel , at the mic with john from brutally honest podcast Give Me Liberty Media . And then there's going to be another guy . I need to look him up to see who that is . So there'll be three of us this Friday . Check it out , all right .
Question of the day Well , I guess I'll just go with this one what is your favorite place to vacation or what is your favorite vacation memory ? Since we did talk about some vacationing , how it can be relaxing and slow the aging process . That was one of my articles that I read . That was one of the topics , so let's go with that .
What is your favorite vacation destination or what is your favorite vacation memory ? There you go . That's the question of the day . Okay , got to go . Thanks for listening and I will be back again tomorrow .
