Speaker 1

Hello, my little love bunnies. My name is Carol Marks and I have a podcast called more remarks. However, I am so excited to be here on racket. I have found racket via a podcast called buzz cast and Jordan Blair from the dream full podcast was promoting it, promoting RA on the buzz cast podcast. And that's how I have found you. So I'm so excited to be here. I can't wait to participate more and listen to everyone out there.

And do you guys call yourself racketeers or racket tours or just, what do y'all what do y'all say? What do y'all are gonna call yourselves or what are gonna call ourselves? I don't know, but I think this is gonna be super fun and I'm excited to learn more about this app. Thanks for

Cool down work and workout of the day

listening. Hello there ? Racketeers Carol here. I'm on my cool down walk and just fit my workout in the garage . I follow the crossfit.com workouts. You're gonna hear some wind it's wind to hear where I am and the birds are chirping, but, and you'll probably hear some traffic too, but because I'm outside walking. Okay. Anyway, the workout, I follow crossfit.com and I do the right now.

I'm doing the beginners because I just now coming back into working out after taking quite a bit of time off, I just mainly rode during the winter time . But the workout today was I tell you what the workout was. And then I'll tell you what I did five rounds for time, 15 barbell lunges and 75 double unders double unders are jump rope , jump rope goes under your feet twice. That's a double under , okay, but this is what I did.

I , I still did five rounds for time and I did 12 alternating, regular lunges with no weight and 50 single unders regular jump ropes that took me seven minutes and two seconds. And then the rest of the time for 20 minutes, I rode kind of a easy off on road . And I rode 3,333 meters. I did not mean to do that, but that's what it was in 20 minutes. Okay. Have a great thanks for listening.

How I describe Racket to other people

How do I describe racket to other people? That is a good question. My first thought would be to say, it's Vero , it's Eves dropping on the world with their permission, but if I have their permission, then it's not really VES dropping, is it ? So I'm gonna have to figure out how to describe this to other people, because I want to share it with everyone. How would I describe racket? I'm gonna think on that. And then I'm gonna have to get back to you.

I don't wanna compare it to other sites or anything like that, although that would be a good way to do it. Um, so I'm gonna have to figure it out. Thanks for the question. I will ponder it. Ooh . Y'all I just found out when you audio reply to someone's racket, your audio reply also becomes your own it. That is so cool.

Racket's question of the day

I like that feature. Thank you. Ooh , racket's question of the day. Okay. This is my reply to the question of the day. Then I'm gonna do a separate one dedicated to something else. Okay. The question of the day is what is name something? One thing that you like that most people probably don't like.

I have a few things that I think I like that most people would not like the , so my reply to this one is I like getting up at three o'clock in the morning to have coffee with my husband in bed and watch the news. And we chit chat until we have to get up and start getting ready for work three o'clock in the morning. Yes, we get up at three o'clock in the morning. And then probably the second thing is I enjoy working out in my garage gym. And I think it's because I see a challenge.

It builds myself confidence . When I see this challenge and I complete this challenge or some version of the challenge, which is the workout of the day. And I just really enjoy doing that. And I like the way it makes me feel. Um , most people, I think really don't like to work out . They think it's a chore or something like that, but I rather enjoy it.

So those are two things that I like that I think most people don't like now I'm gonna dedicate a different racket, a separate racket of my own talking out another thing that I enjoy

I am a bald woman

that I think most women probably would not enjoy. Okay. Thanks. I am a completely bald woman and I enjoy it. Okay. So yesterday's question of the day from racket was name one thing that you enjoy that most people will. Most people probably don't. And I would imagine most women do not want to be balded. I love it. I enjoy it. It's more comfortable for me, but I didn't do it by, I didn't do it on purpose.

I have alopecia and it got so bad that I , you know, I eventually had to shave off whatever I had left and no one really looks try at me when I go out and about, I went through a wig face for a little while and every once in a while I might still wear a wig, but it's on a rare occasion. I prefer to go out bald. It's more comfortable for me. I feel like my more authentic self. When I wear a wig, I feel like I'm hiding something from everyone.

So, and no one really looks tri at me either when I go out bald now I've lost my eyebrows too. And I've lost my eyelashes, but I will of course, pencil in my eyebrows and put on fake eyelashes. But I love it because no one really looks twice at me and the women that do come up to me and ask questions. It's usually they think I have cancer and most people think I have cancer. And fortunately I get to tell them, no, it's not cancer. It's just alopecia.

But in return they usually have gone through cancer. And so I get to listen to their stories and get, let them talk about their self , which I, you know, I think that's a good thing. Anyway, I enjoy being a bald woman.

How many photos do you have on your phone?

How many photos do you have on your mobile device? I have, or had 3,400 and , and 11 photos. Now. I think that's probably on iCloud or whatever, but it was in my most recent albums on my iPhone. And so this morning I took the time to delete a lot of them. Oh my gosh. I was so embarrassed. I had so many selfies on there, but in my defense, they were all in like different wigs that I have and that I have sold on Poshmark . I've sold a lot of my wigs.

And so, you know, people wanna see pictures of you in it too. But anyway, a lot of stupid selfies, I kept a lot of vacation photos, of course, photos of my kids, photos that I'm in with other people. And, but mainly a lot of stuff I had to just delete. It was ridiculous. How many selfies I had on there? I'm so embarrassed.

Challenge for Racketeers

Okay. So how many fo I mean, how many photos do you have on your phone? Hey, I wanna challenge y'all to do something. I want you to sit for 5, 10, 15 minutes, whatever, and listen to racket straight through. Don't pay attention to the title. Don't look at how many plays are likes. The racket has had don't look at the profile picture, just put in your earbuds and let it play.

I fortunately work at a place where I can listen to podcasts, listen to audio, whatever, you know, pretty much all day if I wanted to. And so after lunch I put on racket and just let it play like an, I like an iPod. Oh my gosh. I'm showing my age like a podcast. And so here , heres some highlights that I found Trent Monday , M U N D a Y deconstructs, Queens , Bohemian Bohemian RHY . And it was like poetry. Minimal, minimal bell wants your input on beauty content.

Should she do it since it's audio? I say, yes, there are several podcasts out there. Beauty related fat mascara comes to mind. I can't listen to fat mascara because I really don't like one of the ladies' voices. So I would listen to minimal bells. That's for sure. I would. And racket wants to know what made you smile today? Me, I got out to the CEO of racket today that made me smile. So I challenge you. Sit and listen for however many minutes. Keep it over mind and just hit play and let it

Why I shaved my hair off

roll. Thanks for listening. I want to share with you why I shaved my hair off. I have alopecia I'm 55 years old. And when I was a child, a small child, my , uh, I had a big bald spot come up on the top of my head. It was quite large. And for a child elementary school, it was, you know, quite traumatizing I suppose. And my mother ended up taking me to a doctor, a specialist, which you know, I got the shots in my head and my hair grew back.

Didn't have a problem with it for a long time until I became pregnant, had children. And then my hair started falling off little bald spots here and there. They would, the hair would fall out. Then it would grow back. Bald spots would move around. No big deal. Didn't think he thing of it until I was in my late forties, early fifties. And then my hair just started falling out with rapid speed. I got sick and tired of seeing all of my hair fall out in the bathroom, drain on the countertop.

When I brushed my hair, just gobs of it would come out in the brush. Anyway, finally had enough, went to my husband. I said, please, I wanna go by some Clippers. I need you to shave my head. He said, no, let's go to a professional. He supported me in me shaving my head, but he wanted to a professional do it. So we went to his barber and it was a great experience. And I will tell you the rest in the next part too .

Also, if you click on the links or a , the link in my profile page, it will take you to an image , uh , my Instagram feed. And you can see why I shaved my head. Okay. Part two of why I shaved my head. This is the barbershop story. So my husband takes me to his barbershop. I'm so nervous, you know, cause I'm about to shave all my hair off, but we , we went, we sat, you know, in the chair, we had to wait our turn. He wanted me to go to a certain guy. So we sat and waited for him.

And then when the , when the customer, he was working on finished and got up and left, the barber, looked at us and looked at my husband. He said, okay, next. And then I get up and sit in the chair. And the barber was like, oh, what are we doing? And I removed my hat to show him my bald spots. And I said, we're shaving all the rest of this off. And you know what he did. He said, okay. And then picked up his tool and started working, no emotional, like, are you sure? You know?

But he , he just went right to it, which I appreciate a ton. Then what really surprised me is my husband got up in the seat beside me and said, all right , I'm doing it too. And they shaved his head. It was really , uh , a good experience. And I felt fabulous. And you know what? We went out to lunch. The very right after it was done, I didn't wear a hat. I just went straight out balled to a restaurant and you know what, no one looked twice at me. No one looked at me like I was a freak, nothing.

It was great. And I love going out bald now. And it's just really comfortable. I feel like my authentic self if I'm about out of time. So thanks for listening.
