Fading Celebrity Influence in Politics and Astronauts' Space Dilemma

I don't really interact with anybody , but still I watch how things are done in there and it's like whatever , uh , but my workload mainly um , but yeah , the only thing that kept my says it was a saving grace was I kept thinking about how trump won and how the american people came through and voted for the man . I mean it was the man , I mean it was .

It was a tidal wave . Wow , I mean it was crazy . Thank you , thank you , thank you . American people , goodness gracious . And some of my topics is going to be about the celebrities that endorse kamala and how I mean this really really is telling about where we are in American culture , where we really are , not what the media tells us , where we are .

All right , let's start with that story . As a matter of fact , let's start with that story about the celebrity is over , how Kamala Harris killed the celebrity endorsement , parading A-listers instead of policies was always a recipe for disaster . Kamala Harris' candidacy is dead and so is the Hollywood celebrity endorsement .

We all knew that , though we already knew that Cardi B , beyonce , jlo Did . Jlo look terrified up there speaking . She looked like her life depended on getting up there and endorsing Kamala . She looked terrified . You know there's some P Diddy tapes of her . You know there's some P Diddy tapes of her . You know there is .

I can't wait for it all to come unraveling and tumbling down . I know I probably shouldn't wish disaster on people , but come on , they brought it on themselves . I think they deserve it . And here's another thing when I was irritable yesterday on the drive home , I was thinking why am I ? Why was I irritable today ?

And it's because I am sick and tired of the stupid . I am so tired of stupid GD people . I am sick of them and I'm ready for it to be a four years of stupidity . And I'm ready .

I'm ready for Trump to get in there and fix everything or hopefully he can with the Congress and the House I mean the House and the Senate Please , please , please , make everything right again . Oh , I'm just so happy . Okay , alright , sorry , back to the thing by turning her failed presidential effort into a three-month-long variety show with splashy performances .

Well , hillary still lost when a majority of the electorate overwhelmingly says the country is moving in the wrong direction and they're being financially crushed by inflation . Don't bother with policy . Offer a theme song . Oh , I hear sirens . Hope everything's all right . Uh , so on the eve of election day , oprah introduced oh yeah , oprah .

She has not been relevant since I don't know when , since what ? The 80s , if . Then I I , when oprah first broke onto the scene , I did watch a few of her shows , but after a it kind of dawned on me . It's like she's really not inventing anything new . She's just rehashing something you know , spiritual , that has been around forever , ever and ever and ever .

She's not doing anything new . Here comes the siren it's a fire truck . It's going right past me . Oh , it turned off its sirens , still has its lights flashing , all right , sign of the cross . Hello , I would love to have been a fly on the wall in Julia Roberts' home , or who were some of these other ridiculous women that came out , celebrity women that came out to support her ?

I just wish I could have seen their face when the results came in . Do you think they care , though ? No , do you think they care ? I bet secretly they're like oh , thank God , I can keep my money . All right , we're moving on to the next one . Oh , let's talk about the astronauts , shall we ?

Let's talk about the astronauts , and then we will end with a follow-up of a Jeopardy contestant . She breaks her silence over sexist clue that forced host Ken Jennings to apologize . I have a lot of opinions on that , all right , but first we're going to talk about the astronauts that are still stranded up in space , all right , and who they are .

This used to have been . This would have been a story many , many years ago , but now it's like , okay , whatever , we've forgotten about them . It's been almost six months since technical issues stranded NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams on board the International Space Station Since their Boeing shuttle malfunctioned in June .

What you're seeing is somebody that I think is experiencing the natural stresses of living at a very high altitude , even in a pressurized cabin , for extended periods .

You think her cheeks appear a bit sunken , and usually it happens when you've had sort of a total body weight loss . This could be due to the impacts of life in space , resulting in her burning more calories that she is consuming . As astronauts are urged to eat well above average , of about 3 3500 calories per day , mostly of meat .

Because of high exercise and activity , her body's probably working harder to do basic things because the partial pressure of oxygen is lower than it would be on sea level . So let's talk about who is Suni and who is Butch . It's just real quick .

So Suni Williams is a 59-year-old astronaut from Ohio who has flown two prior missions to the ISS in the mid-2000s and early 2010s , before re-embarking into space last June . She has previously worked with robotics on board the ISS . And who is Butch Wilmore ?

Barry Butch Wilmore is another seasoned astronaut who has flown two space missions in the late 2000s and mid-2010s , where he has done several spacewalks . The 61-year-old hails from Tennessee . All right , so why are they stuck in space ? We probably already know that Both astronauts were the first manned crew on a Boeing Starliner capsule .

However , a week after docking , the ISS capsule began to undergo thruster failures and helium leaks that sent their mission into lengthy delays . Oh , what's the plan to get them back to Earth ? Spacex Dragoncraft running test to the ISIS will more , but not until this February . All right , well , you can go finish reading that story . Looks like February .

Spacex will attempt to go pick them up . All right , we're going to do this follow up on the Jeopardy and then we're going to get to the question of the day . I have a lot of . The woman was wearing eyeglasses . No big deal in 2024 , right ? Everybody wears glasses nowadays . But there's a famous Dorothy Parker quote that she put in her book apparently a hundred years ago . Now when I read it was a hundred years ago I was like what ? Oh , I'm still living in the eighties , all right . And the ?

The quote is men rarely make passes with women in glasses and women wearing glasses , or something like that , and that was it was like a rhyming quote category and that was it . The answer was finish this rhyming quote men seldom make passes . And one of the guys chimed in and answered it correctly and the answer was women who wear glasses .

And immediately the host I think his name is Ken Jennings apologized immediately to , uh , the girl , the female contestant who was wearing glasses . He said something like , oh , I'm sorry , sounded kind of awkward , and then the guy contested who answered it quick , correctly , said oh , yes , very , you know . And she didn't say anything , but she is speaking out now .

Ryan , who works as a health program director from Binghampton , new York , thought the phrase made everybody on the stage and in the audience uncomfortable . It is definitely an odd choice , she said . I think it made everybody in the audience and on stage and the host , ken Jennings , little uncomfortable . It was like oh , that was unexpected .

Maybe we choose better rhyming phrases in 2024 . Look I , you can go finish reading that . I'm not going to read much . I'm not going to read any more of that my but here are my remarks on that story . Look , it was written a hundred years ago , in a time when perhaps that was true because women maybe didn't wear glasses .

Back then we did care a lot more about our appearances . Back then we it was imperative that we married back then . Um , today , in 2024 , it's different . So , but also , they were referencing a quote from a hundred years ago , in a different time . What are we ? Are we gonna erase all of history ? We can't use it anymore . I mean , use your common sense .

Have we lost all common sense ? It was a reference , it was a quote that was actually written by guess what ? A woman . Y'all , get over yourselves , get over yourselves . My next opinion about this is well , yes , we do wear glasses , but maybe women should take a little extra time to care for themselves and wear contacts .

Maybe you can't wear contacts , that's fine too . There is nothing wrong with wearing glasses . Men nowadays all right , men , I don't think , really care , they don't care , they don't care . I promise you they don't care . We're living in 2024 . That's the least of their thoughts , their thoughts .

If you're wearing glasses or not , some men probably think it's sexy that that old , you know , school teacher , sexy school teacher , look , or whatever . Also , there are men who are not men anymore . They're , you know .

They're not making passes at women anymore because they're scared to death to make passes at women because they might get sued or called out or canceled . It's y'all , get over yourselves , Get . It's not a thing . It's not a thing . I think she took it in stride . It's fine , it's no big deal .

Hopefully these women and men can use common sense and realize that quote was written 100 years ago by a woman and it doesn't matter today . It doesn't matter today . It was cute , it was cute . I like the quote . All right , we're going to get to the question of the day .

My question of the day is give me your strangest food combination that you like together , not , you know . Some people like a frosting and french fries . I've recently discovered gravy on french fries oh my gosh , I love it . Now , that not . But that may not be a weird combination to you , because I think they do that over in england , but oh , I love it .

Um , a chocolate sauce on a biscuit is good . Oh , I recently had that too . Instead of biscuit and gravy , it's biscuit and chocolate sauce . Oh , it's so good . That's also may not be a weird combination . I don't know . I really don't think I have a weird combination . I probably the french fries in my frosty might be the weirdest one .
