Today, I want to dive into a topic that I've covered before, but it's one that keeps popping up, so I figured it's worth revisiting.
It's that one question I get asked so often…the ever-elusive morning routine.
I'm always curious about what successful people do in the mornings. Is it a variation of the famed "miracle morning" by Hal Elrod, or do they have a completely different approach? Do they even follow a morning routine?
We've all heard the saying that winning the morning means winning the day, and when I embarked on my own journey of personal growth and success, everyone emphasized the importance of starting with a structured morning routine.
I fell into the trap of believing that I needed a meticulously planned morning checklist to set myself up for success, mentally and physically.
But here's the thing…it became a double-edged sword.
Some days, life just happens. Sometimes, despite our best intentions, we miss our wake-up time or fail to check all the boxes on our morning routine checklist.
And when that happened to me, I felt like the entire day was ruined. I believed that if I didn't win the morning, I'd lose the day. It became a source of frustration and stress.
I had to eventually pivot away from that fragile system I’d made for myself and learn how to tweak things around to make way for something better.
And so, if you find yourself in a morning routine that does more harm than good, then maybe it’s time to change things up.
