Episode description

Podcast 3. Any situation is a set of events. There is no doubt that the situation and people affect our mood and happiness. However, we need to know that the outcome of any situation depends not only on the event but also on our response. E plus R equal to O. Where E stands for the event, R for response and O for the outcome. If we need a better outcome of any situation, the first thing we need to understand is that two forces exist in any situation. External forces and internal forces. We can always use our internal forces to handle our situation in a better way. That will lead to a better outcome of that situation. The most important thing is to realize that, in any situation, always respond rather than react. There is a clear difference between reacting and responding. A reaction is usually emotional without much thought. It is quick. There is frustration, anger and negativity in a reaction. Whereas a response is calm and thought out. It is without annoyance. There is compassion that impacts everyone's mood at that moment and later affects our wellness for a longer period. Responding mindfully is the most important skill that we need to learn to win any situation. It is required not only to handle the situation without annoyance or panic but also to get a better outcome of it. My next podcast will give you more ideas and practices about turning a negative situation into a positive outcome. Please do not miss it. Thanks for listening.
