20 years ago a group of bluegrass musicians formed a band and cut a record. Their producer shared some of the tracks with Dolly Parton who immediately fell in love with their music. So much so that she hired them to tour with her as opening act and backing band. That band, The Grascals, went on to score two IBMA Entertainer of the Year awards, 20 SPBGMA awards, and two Grammy nominations. Founding member, Danny Roberts, joins us on this edition of Americana Music Profiles to talk about their 20 year run as a band, their 20 year anniversary tour, and their latest album, 20.
