Episode description

The end of the war brought its own difficulties. The states no longer felt a strong need to remain united, and no one wanted to repay their war debts. In September, 1786, a group of nationalists met quietly at Annapolis, supposedly to discuss trade and commerce issues. They ended up proposing holding another Convention in Philadelphia to discuss a broader range of problems with the Articles of Confederation.
