Episode description

Despite the joy and celebration for people across the Middle East at the US-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the United Nations, once seen as the world's best hope for peace, is increasingly paralyzed. U Thant was its Secretary General and played a pivotal role in ending the many international crises of that time. His grandson, renowned historian Thant Myint U, joins the show to talk about his new book "Peacemaker" and what today's leaders can learn from his grandfather.

Also on today's show: Werner Herzog, Author, "The Future of Truth"; Arundhati Roy, Author, "Mother Mary Comes to Me"
